It was a nice drive up that didn’t realize the potential of the facade and the reviews. The more recent reviews are telling of the current state of affairs. Too pricey for an isolated luxury offering. The food offerings were poor and there is no resort aspect as there is no activities that would provide a resort experience. As for the Restuarant it was one option with expensive food offerings. We ordered chicken parmigiana and it came with a Kraft single cheese slice for RM58. I am not sure what the resort is capable of but we will not be returning to find out and we won’t be encouraging anyone to make the trip.
I have my fair share of 5-star hotel experiences in Malaysia, especially during the covid period where international travel was restricted. I stayed in The Chateau (one bedroom suite) with my partner from the 26th – 27th March 2022. It was a weekend getaway to celebrate my partner’s birthday. I would say, the stay was a disappointment and not worth the price tag! Disappointment No. 1 A few days before my check in date, I have requested for a slice of birthday cake to be made available for my partner. They subsequently asked for his MyKad for verification purposes which I obliged and sent to them via email. My request was then turned down as his birthday did not fall on the date of our stay (His birthday was on the 29th March, and we stayed in Chateau on the 26-27th March, just a few days before his birthday). It left a bad taste in my mouth as I have never experienced such service by a 5-star hotel. Other hotels that I have stayed in before were very accommodating regarding this matter. Just like any other Malaysians we need to work and most birthdays are being celebrated on the weekends. In my opinion, The Chateau should reconsider such rigid policy. It is the little things that make a big difference in your guest’s experience. Disappointment No. 2: The suite The overall look of the suite is decent, but it needs maintenance. The air conditioner in the living room was noisy and it was not cold. There was a cigarette patch on the carpet and the bathrobe given was stained. Lack of attention to details. Disappointment No. 3: The breakfast Hotel breakfast (especially ‘5-star hotel’ like The Chateau) is one of the highlights of any hotel stay. Unfortunately, the breakfast spread was mediocre, nothing to shout about. Again, any other hotels with similar or even slightly lower price range than The Chateau can offer much better breakfasts. Disappointment No. 4: No towels at the towel booth We were told that the pool is open from 7am onwards, so we went for a swim at around 10.30am. Even at 10.30am, the towel booth was empty and we had to look for the hotel staff to provide us with towels. This may be a minor issue to some guests and some say I may be a tad bit nit-picking. However, given to the claim of it being a ‘5 stars hotel’ and the price tag, the management staffs need to be more attentive. To be honest, I don’t think I will recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family members. This place needs a major upgrade in terms of its façade, rooms and service. With this price range, I better off spend my money elsewhere.…
Checked into the Château on 10-12 March. 1. Wifi at 3 rd floor was very bad. 2. Lousy breakfast. Maybe they hire Bangla chef to cook nasi lemak. 3. Landscaping no maintenance at all. No money probably?
I couldn't wait until I checked out to write this review. I have been to The Chateau for at least 8 years. The 1st time I was here. I was shocked that in my home country there's a resort that provide world class service that's comparable to any 5 stars hotel in the world. Since then, I been at The Chateau for at least once a year. My family love here so much that my elder brother held his wedding here. 2 night of dinner for 200 pax and dozens of hotel room. This is how much we love it here. Before what it became, the resort lives up to it name 'Organic resort'. Everything from the food to the bed linen to the shampoo was organic. The turn down service was awesome. Unfortunately, for the past few years it was bad is the word I am using if I am being kind. I still come once a year even during covid. Last year I came. It was bad but still bearable. This year 12/2/2022, I hope for the best and book a night at The chateau again and I am throughly disappointed. Let me start from the beginning, usually we went reach the resort we will be greeted by the staff and we will be escort to the study room or bar to have a sit and we are being serve some welcome drink while we take a rest from a long drive. Today, they just hush you to the reception and do the normal check in procedure and the worst part is the credit card machine is not working and I am waiting there for 15 minutes. Side note while l was waiting I overheard that a couple complaining that their toilet is flooding because of the plumbing issue. When they can't resolve the credit card machine issue and I starting to get irritated I offer to put down the deposit by cash. When we got the room key. The freaking room key holder is not new. It looks old and used for some time. Even a budget hotel gave a new one. When I ask can I have my tea time at the tea room I was informed that only 1 restaurant is available which is la Vie. I couldn't believe it. A 5 star hotel but you only provide a location for dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh ya, your bar is closed as well. I did try to order some food from the only restaurant available. I have to say the food that I have is one of worst dining experience in my life. Under cooked chicken, Overcook fish. With all the disappointed I try to took a shower. Well there's no hot water. I have to call the reception informed them about this. They sent someone over and the person told me that I need to wait for an hour for hot water. Are we still leaving in the 18th century? Bear in my I been here a lot of time. This is the 1st time I faced this issue. In fact I am writing the review while they are checking the hot water. Long story short, AVOID THIS RESORT I am throughly disappointed. This is going to be the last time I visit this place. And since this is not an organic resort anymore please change the name. It's just false advertising now.…
My stay was over the weekend - on 11/12/2021. Overall experience in the chateau is below expectation for a 4/5 stars hotel. But they say this hotel is a 7 star? They must be joking. Unbelievable! During our check in day, the room was not clean. There are used towel hanging in the shower! Used Bedroom slipper in the shower, cluttered bathroom kits. No bath mat. We asked for our room to be clean again, and yet when we came back at night the only thing they did is put the used towel away, still no bath mat? When we arrived at 840pm from dinner, there are workers who works on renovation in the room next door, there are ladder/ workers boots outside the doors and dusts! Is Hotel management alLowing reno work after 5 pm? / let the workers to stay in the room? After a long day outside, we came back from dinner n all tired, we have to wait for 30 mins for a hot shower. Plus the shower stream is just ok not great. Plus - the amenities in the room is just too outdated, the coffee and tea place is in the cabinet- inappropriately placed, at the bottom of the cabinet with no proper drawer for it. Phone , tv : too outdated. Internet : slow, and there was no line at all in the hotel! Even 1g! And the housekeeping/ operator - took the longest time to answer the call ( and its in the afternoon! Not 10 at night ok?) I dont mind on the old amenities much but the cleanliness of this hotel is a serious matter. In my opinion, a hotel tht doesnt meet up a standard of cleanliness shouldnt be given any star. Im yet to experience the breakfast tmrw. But i guess, everything was put off after all of the above.…
