I would like to thank you Raj from Omni La Costa Resort and Spa for making our 30th wedding anniversary stay a very comfortable and memorable. He went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we need. He upgraded us to a beautiful suite, sent us a fruit basket and wine. It was a wonderful experience at the beautiful resort. Thank you so very much!!
Stayed recently for 3 nights for a conference, and I loved it. Beautiful view, comfortable rooms, nice hotel, great food and lovely service. I only wish I'd brought a swim suit - the pools and hot tubs were so pretty!
Dear Jack, As a current guest staying in Room 6007, I’m writing to express my extreme dismay at the outdated conditions and lack of services at The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. This once prestigious and luxurious property is a far cry from the good old days. As a Centurion card member, I rely heavily on its designation of “preferred” hotels. Put bluntly, The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa is not at all to the standards commensurate with the Omni brand nor is it worth the hefty price tag. I would go so far as to say that this resort presents an open-and-shut-case of false advertising. Prior to our arrival, my son and I were excited for our stay based on the Resort's website and AmEx Centurion’s “preferred” designation - in particular, we noted the luxurious, updated, sunny interiors with luxurious carpeting and beautiful decor. What a shock to be “upgraded” to a La Costa Room that was extremely dark and dated with old carpet, outdated wood decor, and old bathroom fixtures that were encrusted with mineral deposits and worn shower tiles encased in dirty grout. Literally the room’s ONLY attribute was the gas fireplace. Moreover, the simple comforts that guests nowadays take for granted at a luxury hotel were glaringly absent. 1) Prior to taking a shower or bath, you need to leave the water running for 5 minutes before warm water comes on. 2) Room service was delivered in a bag containing styrofoam containers. No wheeled-in table, table cloth, glasses, or silverware. My son ended up eating dinner at a desk while I ate on the floor. I wish I could say I was joking! 3) The hotel shockingly does not offer charging stations for guests who own electric cars. To charge my Tesla, I was advised to go to a local strip mall. I had to go there 3 TIMES during my stay so that my vehicle had enough electricity for us to tour the neighboring attractions. I can’t even begin to describe my frustration at having to spend my precious vacation time with my son in a parking lot for 40 minutes each visit. Unacceptable. 4) The floors are so thin, that you hear every footstep of the people upstairs. 5) When you turn off the fireplace, you hear a loud banging noise in the chute. I couldn’t wait to go home, but tried not to let the subpar accommodations ruin my vacation with my 5 year old son, who is currently being treated for Leukemia and was overjoyed to get 3 days alone with his Mom to visit Legoland and the San Diego Zoo. There are a number of local accommodations in the same price range that far surpass this hotel. I regret tremendously that I didn’t return to the Four Seasons Aviara as I have before — for $50 more a night, it provides 10x the luxury and service of this property. We deserve a steep discount on the price we paid.…
Recently stayed at Omni La Costa for 4 days. Great resort, super rooms, pools were very warm despite the cool weather! I managed to leave my passport in the safe in my room. I was in LA the following day when I realised it. The ladies in reception did a wonderful job in finding my passport and ensuring it was sent overnight to my hotel in LA (as I needed it the following day). Well done folks!! Happy to highly recommend Omni La Costa resort.
The property is huge and beautiful with lot of facilities (heated swimming pools, water slides, golf course, tennis court, nice walk etc.). I stayed in la costa room, which is big but the furnishing is dated. The breakfast and service at Vue was very good. It was a very comfortable stay except one major issue - there were two days out of my three day stay that my building (la costa rooms) had no hot water. It was mid 40F temperature and hot water was out. The folks at reception were not aware of the problem and were not able to give an ETA. The first day hot water was back on after an hour and half of my reporting the issue. We were delayed for LEGOLAND and encountered long lines. The second time I waited for couple of hours and then requested access for another room so we can shower. This again delayed our plans for the day. The property is big and nice from outside but things are getting dated which the management needs to address.…
