Travellers' Choice
Bonnie Haven is a small bed and breakfast overlooking the bay in Lochinver which is located on the NC500 in the far North West of Sutherland. Perfect stay for couples looking for a quiet haven and explore the areas beautiful scenery whether you like walking, mountain climbing, beaches or just relaxing. Open from approximately the beginning of April to the middle of October, we do not take children or pets and I purposely do not have televisions in the bedrooms to guarantee a peaceful time for all my guests. The sitting room is available to guests to relax in and we are only between 5 and 15 minutes walk from several restaurants including those on the harbour, across the other side of the bay.

After camping on the nc500 route we booked this well needed mid week break for me and a partner and 2 of our friends. Everything was exceptional, the place itself was clean and beautiful with stunning views especially from the top floor, the host was so lovely and welcoming- provided us with loads of additional information for our trip and had everything you needed to know laid out on the table from restaurants to excursions to maps etc! Eating the buffet continental breakfast we felt like kings, huge selection and beautifully laid out for us in the morning! beds were comfy, allowed to use washing machine which was a life saver considering we’d been camping, shower was lovely. This is also right on the nc500 route just after the ‘wee mad road’. We are pies at lochinver larder and dinner at peets seafood restaurant. Both were fab. 10/10 reccomend this lovely little place to anyone!

This is an absolutely top notch place to stay when in the area. Such an amazing warm welcome and you cannot beat the views from the property. Right on the waterfront and looking over to the village and harbour. The bedroom was spacious with a huge en-suite bathroom. All fixtures, fittings and provisions were of a really high quality. The bedding was gorgeous and soft and shower large and powerful. Breakfast was an unexpected delight. The service we received was phenomenal and although a continental breakfast there was so much choice and we both left with full stomachs setting us up for the day. 100% recommended and would definitely stay again if back in Lochinver.

We stayed at Bobbie Haven as part of a North Coast 500 trip and were blown away when we arrived to see 2 stags casually eating at the side of the road - just what you expect in the Scottish Highlands. We were then greeted by Kirsteen who was very welcoming and showed us where to park. Kristeen then showed us to our room which was extremely well decorated, clean and spacious with an en-suite bathroom; she also asked us what time we would prefer breakfast in the morning from a choice of 8:00, 8:30 or 9:00. There are no televisions in the room but there is a large social area with sofas, a TV and games if you wanted to watch TV. The WiFi code is displayed and so you can connect upon arrival. Kirsteen was very knowledgeable about the area and had maps and menus set aside with her recommendations of places to visit and to eat. After a visit to a recommended beach and the famous pie shop in Lochinver, we settled down for a good night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was continental and we were offered fresh tea and coffee as soon as we were seated. Kirsteen then made us toast and talked us through other options for the morning which consisted of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, pastries, ham and cheese. It really was an excellent spread and kept us full for another day touring The Highlands. I will be recommending Bonnie Haven to any friends who wish to visit and cannot thank Kirsteen enough for how generous and hospitable she was during out stay. Thank you.

We stayed here for one night in the upstairs room which has a lovely separate seating area that takes full advantage of the gorgeous view. We were so blessed with the weather it really was perfect. The bedroom and the the sitting area are so comfortable and beautifully furnished. Kirsten is a lovely host - very helpful and so nice. Breakfast is a continental affair with so much choice and after eating a number of cooked breakfasts on our trip it was great to have a change - delicious cheeses etc. A short walk brings you into the centre of Lochinvar with great restaurants to choose from. Highly recommended

100% recommend Bonnie Haven - what an amazing B&B. We stayed there for a night whilst cycling the North Coast 500 for our honeymoon. Kirsteen went out of her way to help us and communication in the lead up to our stay was fantastic. We had secure storage for our bikes and some great tips from Kirsteen about lanes and roads to take in the days ahead as well as key sights (waterfalls) to keep an eye out for as we cycled past. Breakfast was fantastic - lots of very tasty food and we couldnt have asked for more. Fantastic B&B!
