Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Merganser! Warm, comfortable and peaceful place and a great location for walking and exploring the area. Enjoyed star gazing and seeing the seal and porpoises in the bay.
We had a great stay at Heron lodge, amazing views and the lodge had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. You feel totally secluded and immersed in nature with Lochinver not far away for some good food and drink options - we tied and recommend Peet’s, Delilahs and the Pie Shop. Karen and Andrew were very accommodating hosts, making sure we had everything we needed and provided plenty recommendations for walks and activities in the area. Would thoroughly recommend Lochinver Holiday Lodges and thank you Karen and Andrew for a great stay.
These lodges are based in a truly brilliant position with their own access straight into the bay. Ideal if you are wanting to set off on a kayak or SUP adventure. The lodge was really well equipped with all you could need for a family holiday. The view from the patio window was just breathtaking and was the ideal place to spot the local resident seals, otters and we think dolphins. We hired Eider lodge which was spacious for 4 of us. It was lovely having a visit from Karen the owner, to help advice on good places to visit and walks to enjoy. The weather wasn’t great for our stay but we still had a great week.
One couldn’t wish for a better spot, a nicer cottage, more beautiful scenery, more wildlife. In short - the perfect holiday. I cannot recommend Lochinver Holiday Lodges enough. We will certainly return. The accommodation was all we could wish for - warm, well eauipped, amazing views over the sea, a virtually private beach and island, otters, seals and sea birds. Not to mention the relentless rise and fall of the tide. Never a dull moment. Lochinver lies within the most beautiful part of north-west Scotland. Idyllic!
We had a wonderful 2 weeks stay. The house had everything we needed, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and lounge, well equipped kitchen and and the most mesmerising views especially from the lounge and the bedrooms upstairs. As the house looks west across the water, it has a fantastic vantage point for wildlife and also the sunsets. We saw seals, shoals of mackerel and dolphins from the house - but didn’t manage to spot the otters. Also had some lovely swims in the bay. (water shoes are useful for entering over the rocks). Assynt is one of our all time favourite areas in the UK - such stunning scenery, amazing mountains and coast and this was a great base from which to explore it, close to Lochinver’s amenities but very quiet and peaceful. Karen was really helpful, giving advice on walks we hadn’t tried and places for food. This was our second stay on this site (we previously stayed in a lodge) which was equally lovely and I am sure that we will return again.…
