Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Esplendido Hotel boasts a stunning seafront location popular with guests for its proximity to the beach and local amenities, coupled with scenic ocean views. The hotel's atmosphere, complete with a sun shade canopy and a library with vinyl records, is often praised, though its value for money has been scrutinized due to overpriced rooms and dining. While the professional staff and clean rooms with beautiful views and a complimentary minibar are appreciated, some guests have experienced issues with housekeeping and room temperature regulation. The amenities, including varied pool options, are generally well-received, despite some criticism regarding the children's pool size.

We arrived at Hotel Esplendido after an extremely long day of travel with an unexpected 5 hour layover and extra stop from the states. The undeniable charm of Soller, the perfect location of this quaint hotel, and the kindness of the staff made us almost instantly forget the frustrations of the trek over. The front desk led us directly to the most wonderful restaurant on our first night. Our rooms were a good size, and the balconies facing the water were just incredible. The location is not only beautiful, but super convenient to all food and shops as well as the cable car that takes you on a scenic little ride into downtown Soller. We spent the first 3 nights of our 2 week vacation here and this place was the favorite of all 7 of us in our party. (For reference, were happy with all 4 places we stayed...this one just was special!). The pool area and surrounding grounds are beautiful, we enjoyed unwinding our first day up there with some delicious poolside eats and cocktails. At the end of our week on the island, we decided to return to Soller with the additional 7 family members who joined us later in our trip. They were blown away as well. After going to the lovely Juremiah the last day for lunch, all of us agreed that the Esplendido was a far better value & was much more conveniently located. We have traveled far and wide and all would absolutely love to come back here! We were so thankful for the staff that went above and beyond to help make all of us in the party feel comfortable (including the kids who did not speak any Spanish) ...we never wanted to leave!

Hotel has done its very best to follow every Covid19 guideline and it’s sad that such a lovely place is so quiet as other parts of Spain have high levels . The hotel staff all wear masks; hand sanitiiser on entry and on all tables . Everything is so clean and constant sanitising as people cone and go is always happening . The hotel is perfectly positioned one the centre front of the port benefiting from stunning views. There are two pools and the top infinity pool had a superb outlook across the whole bay.

We came here about 5 times when our daughter was aged 3 to 8. It was so fantastic for younger kids then. We returned this year after a few years away. It's still fabulous - the views - the location but a few of the other comments are pertinent - the pool is now taken over by older kids playing volleyball so the area for young kids is no longer there. Ok if your children are older but worth bearing in mind if theh are not. It's also very pricey. The room rates have edged up (and up) and a glass of wine by the pool was €7.50. We came directly from the illa d'or in pollensa which is also upscale with a terrace and jetty into the sea but not as expensive. Still love the hotel but I would perhaps cònsider it more out of season maybe. Also I wonder if the prices were a little bit lower if people would eat and drink more??

Hotel Esplendido really lives up to its name!

A lovely airy, relaxed hotel which gets everything just right. We felt really looked after without any intrusion, no stuffiness and such a wow place and location.

We originally went in October 2021 (myself and 2 children aged 4 & 7, and my parents), we stayed in a large sea view room with terrace (2nd floor) which was fantastic, 2 king sized beds and a terrace where my children loved to watch the tram pass by. The room was impeccably clean, high quality toiletries provided, a free mini bar (coca cola, Estrella, water and a really good bottle of red wine), robes and complimentary beach accessories and excellent room service, always with a smile.

We are at the restaurant several times, a fresh and innovative menu. The bar was excellent, relaxed with the most amazing view and location partially undercover overlooking the bay. Breakfasts are amazing - we always ate in the restaurant rather than the buffet, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so polite.

We returned in April 2022, this time with a medium sea terrace room (3rd floor) and once again the service was brilliant. We will hopefully be returning again later this year and have recommended the place to so many friends.

Esplendido has a wonderful feeling that I can’t quite describe, airy, light, so relaxing and welcoming and I will return again and again in the future. I really haven’t done it justice other than to say absolutely 10/10!

With separate pools for families (heated) and adults only, this hotel really caters for everyone. Their website totally undersells the awesome views, proximity to the beach and restaurants which is fantastic. The garden area is great and provides for infinite little hiding spots to read or enjoy a quiet cocktail.

It is hard to put into words how lovely this hotel it. Firstly, the staff are so friendly and helpful, noting is too much trouble and even when it was very busy the service was great. The location is stunning, the sea views from everywhere make it very special and it is also very convenient - for restaurants and shops, for cycling or getting out on the water and of course for the tram! The hotel decor is simple but beautiful with lots of attention paid to small details and everything just works smoothly.

We had a very memorable couple of weeks and can't recommend Esplendido highly enough.

I thought I had already reviewed this hotel. My wife and I booked a sea view terrace room which offers fantastic views of the port. The service was excellent, food was really good and the location right on the front overlooking the beach was perfect for bars/restaurants/shops and to catch the tram up to the town of Soller. The room was good and did I mention the views? Would I return.... well we are returning again in September this year and have booked the Atico room which has 2 terraces so that we have all day sunshine...

this was an amazing hotel, right on the water and quite grand. our room's terrace was huge and looks out onto the water and below onto the main footpath and tram so it was private and lovely but also fun to people watch.
the hotel service was amazing, we had home made treats brought up every day, complimentary water and mini bar and the rooftop pool area was gorgeous. there is one heated pool attached to a kids pool section and another infinity pool (not heated) overlooking the water. pilates and yoga classes are on offer every morning and the restaurant/bar area below are lovely.
it's at a great location within walking distance to everything (port soller is a lovely small area)

caution if you're driving to the hotel, the directions can be quite confusing. it will seem weird to drive onto the footpath/tram area but you'll have to do that to get to the hotel and drop off the bags then will have to drive around and do a loop to get to the free hotel parking area up top behind the hotel. it's a bit of a chore but we didnt use the car for the rest of our stay in port soller so it was only a hassle for the initial drop off and we got the lay of the land by the time we checked out

It is expensive for what it is but it seems to me everywhere is now.
Blessed by a location in the centre left of the port the west facing (sunset) aspect rooms at the front with outside space are a guaranteed delight.
I believe the hotel doesn’t market itself as five star and it isn’t. It is rough around the edges, casual, but charming.
It’s own restaurant is good and there are loads of places to eat literally on the doorstep.
Hard to beat as a great all rounder.

Overall the hotel is lovely.

The view from the hotel across the bay is sensational and the beach is just a few steps away and the early 19th century tram runs in front of the hotel giving instant insta moments.

The rooms are decorated in a 1950s Scandinavian style. We took sea view rooms on the 3rd floor which are small but have beautiful terraces where you can sit and watch the amazing sunsets.

The reception and bar staff as well as the cleaners are all super helpful. This year we found some of the breakfast staff to be less so which was a marked contrast to previous years.

I don’t know if we’ll visit Esplendido again but we’ve enjoyed our stays there and recommend it and Port de Soller for families especially those with younger children.
