A lovely airy, relaxed hotel which gets everything just right. We felt really looked after without any intrusion, no stuffiness and such a wow place and location.
We originally went in October 2021 (myself and 2 children aged 4 & 7, and my parents), we stayed in a large sea view room with terrace (2nd floor) which was fantastic, 2 king sized beds and a terrace where my children loved to watch the tram pass by. The room was impeccably clean, high quality toiletries provided, a free mini bar (coca cola, Estrella, water and a really good bottle of red wine), robes and complimentary beach accessories and excellent room service, always with a smile.
We are at the restaurant several times, a fresh and innovative menu. The bar was excellent, relaxed with the most amazing view and location partially undercover overlooking the bay. Breakfasts are amazing - we always ate in the restaurant rather than the buffet, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so polite.
We returned in April 2022, this time with a medium sea terrace room (3rd floor) and once again the service was brilliant. We will hopefully be returning again later this year and have recommended the place to so many friends.
Esplendido has a wonderful feeling that I can’t quite describe, airy, light, so relaxing and welcoming and I will return again and again in the future. I really haven’t done it justice other than to say absolutely 10/10!
We had a very memorable couple of weeks and can't recommend Esplendido highly enough.
the hotel service was amazing, we had home made treats brought up every day, complimentary water and mini bar and the rooftop pool area was gorgeous. there is one heated pool attached to a kids pool section and another infinity pool (not heated) overlooking the water. pilates and yoga classes are on offer every morning and the restaurant/bar area below are lovely.
it's at a great location within walking distance to everything (port soller is a lovely small area)
caution if you're driving to the hotel, the directions can be quite confusing. it will seem weird to drive onto the footpath/tram area but you'll have to do that to get to the hotel and drop off the bags then will have to drive around and do a loop to get to the free hotel parking area up top behind the hotel. it's a bit of a chore but we didnt use the car for the rest of our stay in port soller so it was only a hassle for the initial drop off and we got the lay of the land by the time we checked out
Blessed by a location in the centre left of the port the west facing (sunset) aspect rooms at the front with outside space are a guaranteed delight.
I believe the hotel doesn’t market itself as five star and it isn’t. It is rough around the edges, casual, but charming.
It’s own restaurant is good and there are loads of places to eat literally on the doorstep.
Hard to beat as a great all rounder.
The view from the hotel across the bay is sensational and the beach is just a few steps away and the early 19th century tram runs in front of the hotel giving instant insta moments.
The rooms are decorated in a 1950s Scandinavian style. We took sea view rooms on the 3rd floor which are small but have beautiful terraces where you can sit and watch the amazing sunsets.
The reception and bar staff as well as the cleaners are all super helpful. This year we found some of the breakfast staff to be less so which was a marked contrast to previous years.
I don’t know if we’ll visit Esplendido again but we’ve enjoyed our stays there and recommend it and Port de Soller for families especially those with younger children.
