I highly recommend this wonderful guest house. For one, the location is superb. It has a wonderful view and is a great place to experience the sunset and see the little lights come on in town. While it is perfectly quiet and peaceful, the guest house is still within walking distance from the world heritage site and the main, touristy street with shops and restaurants. Secondly, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Probably the most wonderful aspect of this place are the hospitable owners. They go out of their way to make their guests feel at home, to provide them with information and they are very flexible (for example about scheduling breakfast or dinner according to the wishes of their guests). The place evokes a homely feel with its cozy living room and hosts who connect with their guests on a personal level. It made me feel comfortable enough to offer my assistance in the kitchen. It was great fun to learn more about the tasty Jordan cuisine. And lastly, I also recommend the guest house for its tasty food. I hope to be back one day!

What a great place to stay in Petra. A wonderful warm welcome from our host who has lots of local knowledge and the right connections. She also understands what travels want and can help you to get the best experience while there. Great views from the B7B and perfect location to visit Petra and get away from the crowds, enjoying the sunset and relaxing in her gardens.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay with Jolanda in the Petra Fig Tree Villa. She is extremely friendly and welcoming, and did everything to make us feel comfortable. You feel like you are visiting someone in your own home (which you are!), and she spoiled us with her delicious cooking, also giving us provisions to take with us on our intense excursions to Petra itself.

She has two cats, 16 chickens, and a fascinating large garden which kept our two young children more than occupied.

The location is perfect, with a stunning view over the surrounding mountains, and a tantalising glimpse into the valley which beckons to be explored. The main entrance to the Petra site is just a few minutes' drive away.

We had the place to ourselves on our stay, which was perfect under the difficult circumstances of the pandemic.

Jolanda is very knowledgeable about the local area, and is more than happy to give suggestions for local hikes other than Petra, etc.

The house is very clean and maintained to a high standard. Water- and energy-saving measures mean that you may not have the luxury of a decadent hotel when it comes to bathing etc., but it is a homely and honest place.

For a personal and authentic experience of Petra, don't hesitate to stay at the Fig Tree Villa.

We enjoyed 5 nights (originally only booked 4 but too good to leave) at Fig Tree Villa. We visited end of November, days sunny and warm but nights chilly.
Jolanda is a fabulous, welcoming, warm hearted hostess whom embraces you with hospitality, we very quickly felt like friends and by end of week we felt part of the family and it truly was difficult to leave.
The house is set on a hillside with spectacular views across to the canyons that keep Petra a secret. Beautiful sunsets, quiet location away from the hustle and bustle.
The rooms are generous, we stayed in 'Petra Room' which is actually very spacious, could comfortably sleep 4, huge windows and it's own private door to a covered balcony area with some outdoor seating.
We have no complaints about either of the bathrooms, however do bear in mind bathrooms are shared with other guests. Fig Tree has 3 guest rooms. Water is a very precious commodity in Jordan and Jolanda has a responsible attitude which we applaud of utilising this commodity.
Jolanda kindly made us delicious breakfast (not unusual for jordan) and fabulous coffee (very unusual for jordan !) every morning, we even had a couple of breakfasts outside on the terrace in the sunshine. Dinner normally would be at a local restaurant, however, we did eat in one evening having ordered a delivery!
Lovely homely feel to the lounge of an evening which is a great spot to curl up cozy with the cats and chat the night away with Jolanda or the other guests.

Jolanda is an excellent host, Fig Tree feels more like a 'guesthome' rather than 'guesthouse', you will be made to feel so welcome, you will feel very much as if staying in a lovely persons home rather than a soul less hotel.
Highly recommended, we look forward to our return one day soon. Inshallah.

And I didn't even mention the lovely garden, the tortoise, the beautiful garden birds, the chair massage, the chickens, a fox ! Or the highlight for Angie, the jewellery making.
Oh yes and we walked down to Petra on 3 of our days !

Phil.

This is a beautiful house on the edge of town with a wonderful view just minutes from Petra Visitors Center. We're were completely pampered and cared for. A delicious breakfast is included and you can order a homemade dinner or a packed lunch to take with you. Jolanda is very available and helpful with any questions you might have about the area. Once you decide on Petra Fig Tree Villa everything else is easy to arrange with her help. My children who are 10 and 6 loved it here. There are kids books in English available and space to play outside.

I stayed there for one night with my partner. Jolanda is a great host, we had really interesting conversations with her. And she made sure everything is up to our expectations. She has two adorable cats if you're a cat lover. If you're not, or allergic like myself, sleeping in the rooms won't be a problem because cats don't go in there. We definetly recommend staying at Jolanda's. It was great!!

Thanks for taking your time to leave a review about your stay in the B&B. And good you mentioned the cats, so people looking for an accommodation do know about them. And as you say, I keep them out of the guest rooms. But they do live inside the house. And thanks for the recommendation! I hope to see the two of you again one day in the future!

I found this lovely gem from reading reviews on trip advisor. We had a car so it was easy to get to this B&B. It is a little off the main street in Wadi Musa but Jolanda the owner sent us a pinned location which brought us exactly to the entrance. can’t imagine a more scenic place to sleep the night before our visit to Petra.

From the moment of arrival, it felt as if I came home away from home. Jolanda has been so friendly through our communication prior to my visit and was such a welcoming host at her beautiful B&B. She shared her ideas and linked me to her local connections for horse riding (so exciting!), transport and food in town. Breakfast is delicious and you'll have plenty of tips about Petra's historical site, Wadi Musa village and other places in Jordan. After hiking Petra for 2 days, Fig Tree has been a wonderful place to put your feet up and cuddle the cats (if they feel like it ;-) ) and warm up with a hot water bottle and tea. It has been such a wonderful time, celebrating Newyears eve together was so much fun. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home Jolanda, Ginger and Pumpkin!

My time at the Bed and Breakfast was the absolute highlight of my trips to the Middle East. Jolanda is friendly and helpful, Pumpkin and Ginger (the two permanent feline residents) are a treat, and if you're lucky, you might even see the tortoise in the garden. Rooms are comfortable and cozy, and each one has its own unique beauty. With charming gardens, stunning views, and a short walk from Petra and all of the amenities of Wadi Musa, the Petra Fig Tree Villa is the best that Wadi Musa has to offer

Petra Fig Tree Villa is unique in SO MANY WAYS.

Firstly, it's location. Fig Tree Villa is the only house in Wadi Musa with a green roof. It can be seen from almost everywhere in the valley. Additionally, the view from the Villa into the Wadi is spectacular. Sunsets are just breathtaking.

Secondly, AMAZING attention to detail in everything Jolanda does - from the breakfasts she serves to the excursions and restaurants she recommends to the contacts she knows. On the walls, you will find old photographic prints of historic Petra. She put me in contact with the photo archive owner and I was so pleased to have contacted him and select 3 prints of Bedouin horsemen as my souvenir of this beautiful country.

Last but not least, great facilities, comfortable beds, large rooms, like a home away from home.

Heb er gister even gekeken. Jolanda
