Petra was our primary destination in Jordan and we stayed at the Movenpick for two nights. On arrival, it made a fantastic impression, with lovely, welcoming staff and a beautiful lounge area which is decorated in a traditional Arabic style. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice balcony and very comfortable beds. We really enjoyed the excellent buffet. The choice and quality of the food were exceptional and we’d like to thank Chef Mahmood for this. We’d also like to thank Ziad, the Maitre D’, for helping to create such a great atmosphere in the dining room. The staff were really exceptional. The hotel also in a brilliant location, being opposite the main entrance to the Petra site. There is also a great range of shops and cafes close to the hotel. Two couples booked same type of room. One clearly not the same as other, half the size. When I spoke to front desk I was offered an upgrade. The upgrade was bigger but had no outside windows. The room was dark and the floor lamp did not work. The air conditioning was non existent. Beware of Happy Hour, you need to buy two within the two hour period 4-6 in order to get one free. They serve huge beer glasses. Not everything is included under Happy Hour(wine). Only plus to this hotel is across the street from entrance to Petra. Arrogant staff. Do not bother with night show at Petra. Dark dangerous expensive walk to listen to a bad flute and political speech. Go see Petra as early as possible, we went at 6:45 am. Had the place to ourselves, before bus loads came in

I have visited the hotel a few times especially the caravan where they sell Icecream and other snacks. The place is beautiful and the service is excellent. Special thank to Paula and Mary Anna at the carvan who are very friendly and professional making my every visit to the place enjoyable and memorable. Keep up the great work.

It was a comfortable stay in petra . All the sutff was flexible with my check in and he was a great support for me to advise things around town ., As for food, everything was perfect. The dinner buffet was wonderful and the presentation was also amazing I would like to thank chef mohammed and maram and marah for everything they helped. Overall very satisfied with the stay. Motaz and Amra are 2 very professional and amazong bartenders. These 2 gentlemen are fluent in english aswell as in italian - fantastic team! The hall of the bar looks like a museum from another time and the furniture in a classic english style makes the visit in this 1st class MÖVENPICK hotel / bar unforgettable!

Love this hotel and their staff. They’ve been very helpful prior to our arrival. On our second day in Petra, my partner and I got back to the hotel slightly after the breakfast time (technically missed it) but the breakfast restaurant manager, Muath N was very kind and helpful. He allowed us in to grab our breakfast and coffee. Would definitely recommend everyone to stay here if you’re looking for somewhere safe with ease of heart.

Having little time in Petra we choose the Moövenpick. The entrance from Petra is one minute walk. Breakfast served from 6:00 AM was a great plus. Nice hotel with helpful staff, always friendly. Amenities at the hotel are also a great plus if not will to find where to eat before of after going to Petra.

While it is said to be one of the best hotels in this town, and VERY convenient to the Visitor Center entrance to Petra, which you will enjoy after the hike in and out, don’t set your expectations too high. Everyone was polite and relatively helpful, but to be honest the room was fairly ordinary for a meaningful price. As is often the case the A/C thermostat was set by the hotel, and any playing about with it was pointless, though we were never too uncomfortable. Breakfast was a large tasty buffet with helpful staff and a wide range of options. I would encourage you to try the falafel for breakfast as it is quite good and prepared fresh and warm opposite the typical egg station. Dinner at the finer restaurant here was an elegant venue, but they should really dim the lights to create a more comfortable ambiance at dinner time. The main course was tasty, with a number of nice offerings, but they must learn to serve all vegetables hot. I should add, our waiter did rectified the situation upon request, which was much appreciated. But do note that Petra itself is NOT to be missed, and I doubt you’ll find a better place to stay here. Also to note, even during this tragic war-time, we never once felt unsafe nor unwelcome in Petra nor any part of Jordan. Don’t let the problems in Israel & Palestine prevent you from visiting here. It is WELL worth the trip. Walking around town is very comfortable and extremely safe. You’ll remember your time visiting this ancient city for many years to come.…
