Room had everything needed,was clean,bed comfortable .
Usefully very close to the entrance to Petra.
Restaurants ,ATM and Bureau de change all nearby. Some alcohol bars also
Stayed three nights as part of a small group tour from UK.Would be content to stay again.
Had to request the kettle that I expected in the room,it took a while to arrive(had to request twice) .Did have a glitch with heating, but as there had just been a couple of electicity outages over the whole town ,presume the system was confused!
Heating performs best if bathroom light OFF as the extractor fan kicks in and takes heat away.
Shower can be removed to wash long hair.Bed area carpeted so no cold feet.
UK style 3 pin socket as well as the local round pin.
Breakfast adequate, would have liked more choice of leafy greens, dates and cheeses.
Breakfast coffee insipid,They will make a Turkish style coffee if you ask but one has to pay for it but obviously tastes far better.

the edom hotel is centrally based in Petra within walking distance of the entrance to the musuem and entrance gate to Petra. The reception area and restaurant area is well equipped and inviting. However the rooms are somewhat dated and are in need of updating and having a makeover. Their is a roof top bar that has a few selction of drinks but nothing of alcoholic beverage. you may need to find a licenced premises if in need of a chilled relaxing drink

Location is excellent, 5 min walk to Petra visitors’ centre, museum and site entrance. Also close to convenience stores for cold drinks and snacks. We stayed 3 nights. Our room was on 7th floor, apparently recently renovated, although not to a North American or European standard, and the bathroom was not renovated - tub/shower combo with sliding glass door. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Kettle and instant coffee provided in room, paper cups and stir sticks, empty mini fridge. Air conditioning doesn’t have thermostat, and with temperature 36C plus, it had to be on to sleep, so either you have to get up in the night to turn it off, or freeze. Construction currently going on next door during the day, with hammering, but not noisy at night. Breakfast was very limited, some cereals, yogurt, sandwich meats, hard boiled eggs, pancake station sometimes staffed, weak coffee. First day there they ran out of coffee cups and never did restock while we ate, I drank from a milk pitcher I retrieved from behind the bar, as did another guest. We tried 3 nearby restaurants, all reasonable - My Mom’s restaurant, Red Cave restaurant, Pizza House.

This hotel packs in the tourists due to its proximity to the entrance to Petra. Unfortunately the great location is pretty much the only positive thing about this hotel.

The room we stayed in was old and tired. We had to lug our bags up flights of stairs to get to the lift to our room. The water pressure of the shower was so pitiful that I decided against washing my hair since it would have taken forever to rinse out the shampoo.

My husband and I were allocated a twin room, and when we asked if it would be possible to get a double room we were told the hotel was full and the twin room was all that was available. We later found out that the two sisters we were travelling with were given a double room, and when they asked for a twin room, were told that the double room was all that was available. It would have been such an easy fix to swap the rooms round for us so that we (clearly a married couple as evidenced by our passports) got the double bed and the two girls the twin beds, but the hotel staff couldn’t be bothered to do that and preferred to lie to us instead.

The buffet dinner and breakfast were a zoo. So many people scrambling around the buffet tables with huge queues for certain items. The sweet items at breakfast were brought out when we had already finished our meal, an hour into service. I spotted the dishes and managed to have some but the rest of my party had already left the dining room by the time they were brought out.

There was no complimentary water in the rooms so we had to go out of the hotel at night to purchase a bottle of water from a shop that charged extortionate tourist prices.

We did get WiFi in our room free of charge although the signal wasn’t strong and kept dropping out. We were just happy to get any WiFi and weren’t complaining, though.

This hotel relies on tourists unlikely to ever return, and therefore doesn’t concern itself with keeping customers satisfied. I recommend staying elsewhere.

Absolute amazing stay! We were one of the only tourists in the hotel and the staff went above and beyond for us. Especially the staff in the restaurant. They always made up our breakfast table in the cave area. For dinner they served traditional delicious Jordanian food, presented by the chef himself. We felt extremely welcomed and had such a great time there. Additionally, the room was beautiful, spacious and super clean. We even received complimentary fruits and traditional sweets on the room.
The hotel is also less than 5min away from the Petra visitor center!
We highly recommend this hotel if you want to have an amazing experience and stay!

Location is superb, with 7 min walking distance to the entrance of Petra. Room with BF is good value. The buffet dinner is also good value in view of the prices restaurants charge around the hotel.
Rooms are modern and power points conveniently located. Temperature control is responsive. The water pressure of the shower is good. The hotel seems.to have been renovated pre-covid. I will stay here when I return. You can always pop over to Movenpick's for drinks as Edom does not operate a bar.

The service in this hotel was really good. We got a free room upgrade, the staff was friendly and the hotel manager Sufian really went above and beyond to give us a very comfortable stay. The location is also really good (2 min walk to the entrance of Petra) which comes in really handy after a long day of walking.

On the plus side this hotel is very close to the visitor centre and entrance to Petra. Initial impressions are positive as from the outside and in reception it looks like a really nice hotel.
Unfortunately you won't be eating or sleeping in reception area. My room was on 3rd floor and was disgusting. I didn't stand barefoot on bedroom carpet as it was stained and sticky. The furniture was tired and basic. Main disappointment was the bathroom which was disgusting. There was an over-bath shower with disgusting dirt and rust around the taps, plug and bath handles and serious limescale gunk on the shower head. The plastic shower curtain should have been replaced many years ago. When water drained from the shower there was a disgusting smell of sewage.
No kettle, glass or cup in room.
Breakfast was chaotic. Too many people in restaurant at one time so they quickly ran out of cups and glasses.
Hotel mainly seems to be used by tour groups and may have better quality rooms for individual bookings.

We spent 1 night in this nice modern hotel with front free parking, glass panoramic elevator and in a strategic position to reach Petra archeological site in a 2-minutes walk. Our bedroom was spacious and clean with comfy beds, nice bathroom and balcony. The staff was very kind, from the receptionist guy who welcomed us at 10pm, to the porter who walked us to our room (a smiley Egyptian guy) till the restaurant maitre who took great care of us during our breakfast (whic was a very nice experience, with rich buffet with various and tasty Jordan food, in a nice location with also a sort of a very suggestive cave). Overall I definitely recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for one night in an emergency after our campsite was flooded, so maybe we didn’t get the best rooms. Check in was good, even though staff were clearly busy. The room not so good though. View of a swimming pool complete with stagnant, brown rainwater and litter. Bathroom lights that didn’t work and bed that felt like a rodeo ride. Also, no free internet in room. OK, it was a bed and a decent sleep, but if you’re looking for somewhere nice in Petra, there must be other options.

Location is good.

Response from Mo_Twaissi, Manager at Edom Hotel
Responded 22 Feb 2020
Dear Pimoorhouse, Thanks for sharing this candid feedback. It was our pleasure to be able to host you & your group at the very last minute after getting an emergency phone call for your tour agent La Beduina. It’s great to hear that our professional and friendly receptionists were able to provide you with a hassle free and smooth check in. However, we wish you would have notified us about the minor electrical issue in the bathroom so we could have remedied the situation on the spot. And do know that we have just finished the guest room renovations for the 7th and 8th floors and we plan on beginning the swimming pool and surrounding room renovations within the coming year. Although Edom Hotel does provide free high-speed internet in the lobby, as well as Al Majles main restaurant, in the corridors and guest rooms we offer an enhanced & accelerated fiber internet connection for only 3 JOD. Regardless, we are glad to read that you were able to get a goods night rest and hope your visit to Petra was memorable and we wish you plenty more exciting travels. Best regards, Zakariya Habash Duty Manager

Dear ChinnyChin only, i am sami from Edom hotel ,i see your review are not correct because when you come in the afternoon to the hotel i have been behind the reception staff and you ask for internet and the reception staff answer you that the WIFI chargeable at cost 3 dinar not 50 dinar also i see in dubhai free anywhere but in Jordan some place the WIFI free. after 55 mints you come from your room and ask us for coffee shop with internet free and you live to the out side, when in the dinner time you order 2 tea & one large mineral water after the restaurant manger ask you if you need to order some drink & you ask him how much will cost. he give the cost and you accept that and he come to your room to paid because you live from the restaurant without paid( by the way when go to any restaurant and order any thing you paid ) in breakfast you take your full breakfast & after you finish you take some boiled eggs 2 peaces more with white napkin not you don't eat. you see I don't recommend this hotel for ladies and for those travelling alone. why any body touch you from our staff.. in the end we going to share all video with where voice and will give to Lawyer because you put very bad comment and not correct you and you friend as will ....and thank you.
