We booked a tent for 2 nights and were super excited. Two days later came a response without any apology saying the website price was wrong (tent and taxi). When we said, but it does say X on the website she left a ranting text message about Jordon going in to bankruptcy. We agreed to pay the additional for the taxi but then thought, we don't need someone being so pushy and rude on holiday. She asked us to confirm and we replied immediately asking her her to hold off on the taxi. That lead to 3 more ranting text messages (she sounded English) saying the taxi had left an hour ago and was using his petrol. She then wrote that she had cancelled our booking for the taxi and accomodation, leaving us stranded. That kind of 'hospitality' gives Jordon a bad name. Such a shame. We were not bothered by the price being higher, although it would have been respectful to honour the price on the website (we Swiss are good tippers), but rather, by the deception and then the rant. Four of them. When we are on holiday we give our money with pleasure, to pay of the experiences we receive in return. A rude pushy attitude to much needed tourists does no service to the people.…

Unfortunately this is my first bad review - and hopefully last one ! - on trip advisor. I was traveling solo on the back of a work trip. I made a casual observation about the Bedouin Camp being on the same camp site as the Seven Wonders Luxury Camp - which is true, the tents are less than a few feet apart - and was unceremoniously asked to leave the camp and stay elsewhere. The camp owner was quite arrogant and aggressive. I will not get into all the details of this pretty terrible experience of having to look for accommodation last minute in the middle of the desert - literally :-) - and as a solo female traveler. However what I do want to note is that it led me to a little gem of a place called Esperanza Petra Hotel. It is set just on the edge of the town. The photos do not do this place justice. I paid less than I would have at the camp, and had panoramic views of the mountains including Petra - the hotel has a roof terrace that provides a calm atmosphere and stunning sunset over the mountains. In my opinion this is the best hotel view you will get of Petra and the surrounding mountains. The rooms have balcony's with the same view, plus a private terrace on each floor. The hotel is a 5 minute walk away from the Petra visitor center - so no dependance on transportation getting there and back. It is particularly great if you want to make an early start - highly recommendable for the full magic of Petra without the crowds. The town is also a 5 minute walk away, so provides great local options for amazing meals after a long day of walking. The rooms are large with ensuite bathrooms. The food at the hotel is excellent and the hospitality outstanding. Am glad that I eventually stayed at Esperanza Petra as it really gave me a sense of being out in the open the desert more so than staying in a couped and noisy camp. Perhaps it was the roof terrace with its magical view over the mountains, kind people, and being able to be so close to Petra.…

This place is amazingly beautiful, I am so happy we stayed here in the panoramic dome tent while in Petra. The staff is helpful and kind, always ready to help you for anything you may need. The tent is equipped like a luxury hotel and the views is just fantastic. I absolutely recommend this place especially if you’re looking for a romantic getaway while in Petra.

We used to travel a lot, but this was by far the best desert camp experience we ever had! When travelling to the property by car we immediately noticed their signs on the road when getting closer with their mobile phone written on it. So smart! In case you can't find it you can give them a call. But there was no such a situation since it was so well indicated. On our arrival we were welcomed with great enthusiasm and kindess. The owners helped us with our luggages to our accomodation and gave us all the information we needed to know. We chose to stay in a dome tent, such an experience! Inside there was a bed, private bathroom and toilet. Even towels, bathrobe, slippers, bottles of water, little snacks, shampoo, body lotion and soap. I can genuinly say that it was no less than a hotel! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was immaculte! Beautifully cleaned every day. I want to make a sidenote here, this camp is a family business, and only men are working because it is quite heavy work. The rooms were so incredibly clean (despite desert circumstances, I thought there must be the hand of women here, I was mistaken :) The owners and workers take care of their guests like it's their home and do everything with a genuine smile in order to make them feel comfortable. Breakfast and dinners were good. The evening camp fire was an incredible experience. There was live music, guests were served tea during the whole night. The lanterns outside made it so romantic! Shokran! …

Incredible. Literally everything was perfect and you should absolutely stay here. If you need more details, here you go. I stayed with my husband for two nights. We arranged transportation through the camp for us to be picked up in Amman. All of the communication with Jane before arrival via WhatsApp was perfect. Our driver arrived ten minutes early, was waiting on us, and communicated ahead of time as well. The dome tent, #106, had a gorgeous view overlooking the lighted rocks at night. We were given tea on arrival, and showed around camp. The energy there was very relaxed and you felt like part of the family, but nothing was left undone. On our drive to the camp, we asked for several things. Every single one of them was remembered without us ever bringing it up again. I honestly don't know how they do it. The singing by the fire was amazing (with more tea) and we chose to do Petra by Night. They drove us there for only 5JD and were there waiting on us when it was finished. I haven't one complaint and not one thing I wish was better. This was a surreal experience and we would go again a hundred times if we could! …

Room Tip: The night may be chilly, so a jacket is helpful even in the summer.

This place was amazing! I recently came and stayed for 2 nights with a group of 5 friends. To begin, they were very communicative, answered all our questions, and were ready to help. The rooms are warm with plenty of blankets, the site is beautiful at night, the atmosphere is authentic and charming, and those who run the camp are truly there for anything you need. They helped us with transportation to/from Petra and helped us even with we missed our bus to get another way to Amman! The food also is good value for money in the area, and it is good and you can truly eat your fill! Some of the greatest moments of Petra were around that fire circle under the stars. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return! :)

On arrival we decided we wanted one of the luxury tents and this was arranged with no fuss. All the staff were extremely helpful and interesting, The staff arranged a guide for the back way into Petra, they provided a family member called Samir who was very good, and as always very helpful. The room was warm (it was cold when we visited), clean and comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast were good (although my wife found the hot veggie dish poor). The after dinner tent was kept very warm and convivial. we were well supplied with tea, and they were OK with us drinking our own beer and wine. In warmer weather it would have been great to sit outside which was truly spectacular with the rock formations and lights. Brook saved our lives when she arranged for some possessions to be transported to us in Wadi Rum for the following morning. Aziz (sorry if spelt wrong!), went the extra mile with help.…
