We spent three nights in this hotel in June and everything was perfect. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the staff, from the owner to receptionists and the man that prepare the breakfast, all of them were lovely, they will help you in everything. Also the hotel is very closed to Petra and you can arrive there in five minutes walking which is an advantage. We really recommend it. Nuria&David
Lovely 2 night stay at this hotel which is extremely well placed for access to Petra and very reasonably priced. We were greeted by our friendly host who couldn't do enough for us. The room was a good size and perfectly clean. The bathroom was small but fine and clean with plenty of towels. Breakfast was a spread of typical Jordanian fare - bread (and a toaster), cheese, salad, pickles, houmus, cereal served buffet style.
My husband and I stayed at Petra Aretas Hotel for 12 nights due to a research project we were doing at Petra, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The owner and staff of the hotel greeted us warmly from the first moment we arrived, and they continued treating us like royalty through all of our time there. Everything in the room worked very well, and we were even given a tea set with an electric kettle to help us while we worked sometimes. The location was a fantastic 7 minutes by foot from the Petra Visitor Center. We had the option to have dinner at the hotel whenever we wanted, and it was easily arranged with a WhatsApp message request during the day. Best of all, Hashem, the owner of the hotel, arranged a local guide for us at an economical price in order to walk the back way to the Monastery. He also went out of his way to take us around Wadi Musa himself, including to a BBQ party in the mountains. We ended up feeling like the hotel and the staff were our family! Huge thanks to everyone at Petra Aretas Hotel for being our true home away from home for almost two weeks!!…
Unfortunately at check in they tried to scam me and quoted me 25 Jordan Dinars for transport from the hotel to the Petra Visitors Center. I declined as I didn’t know the distance but after checking in my room, I realized it was only a 2 minute walk away, all down hill. To me this is blatant dishonest and just an outright scam that they think that service is worth $35 USD. I was very careful to confirm that this was for the transportation only and not some type of guided tour. I have the entire exchange recorded on my iPhone as well. It makes you wonder how else they are ripping people off with their services. Also, I did not enquire about this service at all, it was forced upon me during check in. Just an insult to my intelligence.
I was a woman travelling solo. This hotel found me a guide to introduce me to Petra, found me a taxi to Aqaba border crossing into Israel, they specially brought in for my dinner the national dish of Jordan. They were so helpful. In the rooms they had multi-purpose plugs that fit my North American chargers and electrical equipment. It was clean and quiet and they were very friendly and spoke excellent English. There was a telephone in the room. It was a very comfortable feeling to be there.
The hotel only has 12 rooms, so is intimate. Hasham, the personable owner, checked us in, oriented us to Petra, provided transport to the back entrance to the monastery at the top end of Petra, arranged corona PCR tests and arranged for a tour of Wadi Rum. Wow, anything we asked for he provided (except alcohol)! He also provided a private dinner for our party of three and allowed us to cobble together sandwiches at breakfast for our day hiking in Petra. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the entrance to Petra, so super convenient. The hotel facility is a bit spartan and the beds a bit hard for our taste. If the beds had been softer, I would have rated the hotel as a 5.
This hotel is situated close to tourism street. Just a 5 minute walk away to he visitor center. You can leave your car in front of the hotel for free, even when you already checked out and want to visit petra! The rooms are very comfortable. There's space to leave your suitcase, a big closet with mirror, TV, free WiFi (works very well!) A good working heater/ac, what is comfortable in winter and hot water for 24 hours a day!. In the hotel, as well as outside the hotel is very quiet at night so you will enjoy a good rest for sure! The chef makes sure there's a variety of things to choose from during breakfast like fresh scrambled eggs, sausage with vegetables, toast, jam and cheese. When you don't feel like going our for dinner or just to tired after a long walk in petra, the staff is happy to serve a traditional jordanian dish for just 12 jd per person including dessert, salads and soft drink! The staff is happy to organise entrance tickets to petra , petra by night tickets and even a car ride to the back entrance of Petra so you can see more of petra in 1 day. They are here to make you happy and to enjoy your stay. Mr Hashem Helalat is a good host and likes his guest to feel at home. He likes to answer all of your questions and is always available.…
We stayed and the end of October and beginning of November. The hotel is located a quick 5 minute walk to the entrance of the Petra architecturall site. Perfect to explore the sights, yet peaceful and very quiet in the evening. It features 12 nicely appointed rooms, which are immaculately taken care of. Parking is available in front of the hotel, if need be. The moment we arrived we felt like home. Which in great part is due to the wonderful and hospitable people that work there, Hashem, Laith, Mohammed, Ahmed and Hana. The food was fresh and delicious. I am still thinking about those fatir, what a treat!, thank you again for feeding me so many of them. And when my friend got sick, they went above and beyond brewing a special tea for her cough. The day of our departure, the whole team came to say goodbye to us and made sure we had extra water for the day of traveling. I would stay again without hesitation! Thank you all for such a wonderful experience.…
The hotel was spotless, from the lobby to the room, with a nice, clean smell all around. Location is perfect for visiting Petra; close walking distance to the visitor center, parking included. Very good breakfast and dinner. But above all, the staff is the best ever! Laith greeted us with a big smile and a very refreshing welcome drink. He was very polite and friendly, and got us our Petra by Night tickets. Then, Hashim. An honest and smart man, always willing to help and answer questions. Hikes suggestions, money-saving tips, best spots to watch the sunset... whatever you need, just ask him. We really enjoyed our conversations with both of them. Also, there was Hesham during dinner, Muhammad during breakfast, and Hannah, the housekeeper with the brightest smile. We liked it so much, we changed our plans and came back for another night. Everything was perfect. I recommend them 100% and if we ever return to Jordan, we will stay with them again; no doubt. As Laith said: one family. Thank you guys!…
We stayed in this hotel two nights in early November. The rooms are small, yet the bed is a king size. You don’t really need a lot amnesties since you probably are going to spend your whole day walking in Petra. The service and the included breakfast was great. They had available parking in the property, definitely recommended if you are staying in Petra.
