Lets start with breakfast, which is a buffet. I asked if they had green tea, the response was yes. He brought me regular tea. I drank it anyway because I was thirsty. I asked for artificial sweetener, he had no idea what that was. I asked a second time for green tea and this time I got Earl Grey tea. If you are going to work in a restaurant you should know the difference between these teas. There was a huge line for the man cooking eggs because there was a big group eating at the same time as me. There were no scrambled eggs already made in a container on the buffet so you had to wait there if you wanted eggs. I got other items from the buffet and the waiter/restaurant manager came by and told me he would get my eggs for me. Instead of asking the man cooking the eggs to do mine first I had to wait 25 mins for eggs. I could waited in the line myself for this. I got a burger in the Cave Bar and had intended to eat there but every single person in the bar was smoking, it was gross. So I took it to my room. It was a pretty good burger. The next day when my room was cleaned they left the dirty plate and leftovers in my room. I asked the front desk for a rubber bath mat for the tub/shower and a wash/face cloth. They sent me another towel you put on the floor outside the tub. The funny thing is that there is a sign to secure the mat in the tub before taking a shower on the bathroom wall. Instead of a face/wash cloth they gave me 5 hand towels. I had used one of the glasses provided in the bathroom and they left that dirty one and did not add another clean one, I guess you have to use both of them to get clean ones? There were only a couple of English speaking tv channels, 95% of them were Arabic. The chain that you can use to secure your door was broken, it looked like someone had tried to force the door while it was in place. Yes, this is the closest hotel to the entrance to Petra. That does not mean they can treat guests like this. Stay somewhere else.

The sraff was very friendly, as were all the Jordanians zi met
The room was spotless and gorgeos with a view toward the siq. The AC provided just the right temperture and the bathroom fixtures were as good as any anyehere. I did not have enough room to try all the breakfast selections
AND the front door of the hotel is just 200 feet from Petra" entry gate

A nice hotel right next to the entrance to the Petra site. Beautiful, comfortable rooms with one downside: the window in ours overlooked a wall! The Aloe Vera restaurant in the hotel offers a buffet (it is still possible to eat à la carte). Good quality hotel with a professional welcome. A good address.

Great hotel, a few meters from the entry of the entrance to the pathway to the Petra archeological site, this hotel offers, clean, stylish, and a historical experience. Indeed, “The Cave”, a restaurant-bar is exceptional concept based in the tombs in the Nabatean culture. The best hotel, with the best location in Petra, the Petra Guest House offers everything you need for your visit to Wadi Musa and Petra.

The obvious answer as to why I stayed there was the location, but tbh taxis are so cheap u could stay anywhere in Wadi Musa

I'm currently still here at the hotel as I bought the 3 day pass, which included my entry visa or vice versa. Either way a very handy thing in buying the Jordan Pass

Staff are helpful, especially Abood in the Cave Bar who runs the room service too. Many thanks and well done to him

The breakfast staff are efficient and helpful. Talking of breakfast. They have all the usual buffet style meats and cheeses, with lots of dips, including the usual cereal, although no muesli. The breads are fresh but pastries very tasteless. The other annoying thing about the hot option. It's very lukewarm and I was down at 0600🤷‍♂️. In its defence that the omellete station prepared very tasty fillings along with crepes

I never ate in the restaurant so I can't comment but it was always very busy. Mind u, you really don't want to get a taxi elsewhere

The room was ok, but no slippers or dressing gown as advertised, although I could have asked if I was that bothered. Things were stocked up in the bathroom daily, but I think the hoover must hand been broken as there was always debris from the previous day when it was 'cleaned'. The phone too were very dusty if I'm being picky and annoyingly my key card didn't work on two separate days, although someone came quickly when I used the communal phone to tell them the issue

The only issue I have with the room planning...why put a plug socket behind ur head. See attached pic

Overall would I recommend? Yes

If you're looking for a fab taxi firm who can organise not only local schedules to local attractions, Omar, also has connections in Amman too. So email me at Mattalansharp@gmail.com for more detailed info. And no. I don't get a commission. It's just helping local workers, esp post Covid

My stay here was impeccable from start to finish - mainly because of the amazing staff.

Ibrahim and Hanadi on the front desk gave excellent advice on Petra's trails. We had a much better experience because of them! And Ahmed checked us in and gave us the most gorgeous room with a balcony.

Amer in the restaurant was very friendly and even organised a meal for us when we arrived prior to the kitchen opening. Zayed in the Cave Bar was also an excellent server.

Even the man running the (inexpensive) gift shop was very kind! I've stayed in 5 star hotels where the service is not half as warm or efficient.

On a practical note, you simply cannot beat this location. It's right next to the entrance - much needed on a short trip and/or after a long day hiking! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms cosy and quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast and lunch there (the local beer is highly recommended).

Now is a wonderful time to visit Jordan. We felt very safe throughout our trip and didn't have to battle any crowds.

We had booked one night stay as we were visiting Petra, we had hired a car so the parking was free and nice and simple, and were accompanied in with a very friendly man who helped with luggage, as they do here at the speed of lightening. We checked in all ok and taken to our room, which was 114. We had view of the entrance to Petra with the visitors walking down the main path, the room was very warm so we set the air on to low and went out out adventure to Petra. We stopped for lunch along Tourist St about 5 mins away from guest house. We also right next to the visitors centre we we needed to stop at as we need to trace our tickets, and they were very helpful. After our trip into Petra we went in to the cave bar, part of the the guest house I had was very nice little bar partly inside and outside, cute and cosy, but a little expensive. On checking in we were given a voucher and told we would get 20% of food and drinks, beware this is only for food. All food and drinks (alcoholic) are taxed very high, so add at least 20% extra to anything you order.
The room upon our return was still very warm so we mentioned it to the reception, but as our previous hotel, due to it being there cold season still, it was only set to heat? However outside was nearly 30 degree!
Next day we went to breakfast where we were seated, not a massive room but still a fairly good choice of salads, cheese, and hot food were offered. The staff are reasonably polite, and gave an extra bottle of water to each guest for the day.
When we checked out, the love.y lady receptionist asked us for our review, and the only thing was the room was to warm, however they did come open our windows as the handle was broken on one the openers.
Overall a great position for visiting Petra, and pleasant stay and comfortable room despite the heat.

We stayed for two nights in this exceptionally well located hotel. The bedrooms were very well appointed and our two rooms were built into the top piece of rock looking out over the town. It was difficult to tell how full it was, but we noted that in the dining room we were often the only people in there. The dinner choices were fairly good, the highlight being the Um Ali pudding - delicious! Breakfast was not quite as good but the selection was quite broad (particularly if you like hummus!) and we did not go hungry.
Probably, the main reason you would chose to stay here is the location - you almost literally walk out of the front door and there you have a buggy driver waiting to take you into the old town. In addition, it is has a very pleasant patio area and Cave Bar where you can relax with a drink after flogging round the old town. It has to be said though that you do pay quite a bit for all this.

Breakfast was shambolic and the service poor.
Presumably it’s the location that keeps people booking but it felt as if the hotel was just open house to anyone and had no atmosphere. Beware of the supermarket & shops in the marketplace as they price nothing & appeared to think trying to charge £35 for a few crisps & sweets was acceptable.
More relaxing to stay in the Marriott and take a taxi

The name is slightly misleading - This is quite a large hotel in an excellent location and service far exceeded what I’d expect of a guest house. Rooms were comfortable and clean though the decor was dated, especially the bathrooms.

Breakfast and dinner buffets were very good but the restaurant bar was disorganised, nobody wanted to take money for our drinks. The Cave bar outside was fantastic and service was spot on.

The hotel is situated right next to the gate to enter Petra so couldn’t be better. There are also lots of shops nearby.
