The quality of the rooms is amazing for the price, and the it is run by an amazing character. We got a taxi down to Petra for £3 which the owner arranged. Coming back, the guys at the taxi rank would not negotiate below £6, but heyho! Like most places in the area the hotel does not sell alcohol but we were more than welcome in the bar of the ridiculously expensive hotel just outside the gates of Petra.

The owners wife and daughter cooked us a local feast each night, the quality and quantity of which was crazy for very little money.
Visiting in January, it hadn't occurred to us that it would be chilly (even raining a bit )and we had left our jackets in our car at the border. The owner came to the rescue and sent the taxi driver to his house to pick up 3 of his own jackets for us to borrow.
Highly recommended. If you go, get chatting to the owner and you will be rewarded with a string of interesting/educational/funny stories.

This hotel is a gem, it far exceeded all our expectations. The owner and his family welcome you and make you feel at home the minute you enter the place. I can easily say this was the most safe, hospitable, clean and welcoming place we stayed in Jordan. The room had all the modern amenities expected from a high standard hotel, ranging from hair dryer to various European standard sockets, spotlessly clean with magnificent views. The excellent shower was a blessing after a whole day walking in Petra. We had dinner and breakfast both cooked by the family using fresh ingredients. The dinner was of 4 star hotel standard and the breakfast was very generous and kept us going the whole day. A packed lunch option is also available for a modest price which I would highly advice as prices at the Petra site are very expensive. Mohammed gave us a map and drew an itinerary that we followed in conjunction with various websites saving time and money on expensive tour guides. On our departure, yet again Mohammed saved us time and money by arranging transport for our next destination. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a modern, comfortable and extremely clean facility with a five star rating for food and quality of service.

Mohammed is a dream host, the kind of person you always hope to meet on a travel. He is a true local to the area and generous with his knowledge of the region because he genuinely wants visitors to have the ideal experience. The cuisine in his restaurant is authentic homemade local food bringing banquets out of a family run kitchen. In a region of a world wonder of the world it is a gift Mohammed gives his guests not to feel the presence of tourist traps, very safe hotel and very trustworthy advice, great English, wealth of local information, perfect directions around Wadi Musa and Jordan.
My many humble thanks xo

Petra Princes Hotel is a an amazing place and a very good ambiance and interior. I am very glad to meet the owner/host Mr. Mohammad Al Alaya who took very good care of me when I was there, his service is beyond what I expected. He welcomed me so warm and the smile on his face excites every guests who will checked in. He’s not just a host but he treated me as his own son. Picked me up and dropped me off to wherever I go. He is a kind-hearted man who will help his guest to tour around the city. I’m always traveling alone and I always wanted to discover the places I’m always traveling to but this time he helped me a lot with everything I need. Prepared me a hot tea in a perfect cold weather, bought me foods and sweets in the market. He’s just a heaven sent to every guest most especially to me as I have a limited budget that time. His service is more than excellent that made me not to forget this place and him. More power to you and your family Mr Mohammad. GOD bless your good heart and soul!

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Petra. The rooms and the bath rooms were spacious and clean. We stayed in a private room with shared bath. Mohammed is a very kind person, who gave us a wealth of information about the place and shared stories from his life. He also called up the mini-van service to take us from Petra to Wadi Rum on the day of our travels out of Petra. The packed lunch that we got from their kitchen on one of the days we explored Petra was delicious and well packaged. It was a good time overall. WiFi speed is one area that could be improved a bit. However, I do want to recognize that Mohammed did try to put the router next to our room so we could enjoy better connection. Mohammed also touched bases with us via whatsapp before arrival to arrange cabs for pick up from Jett bus station and gave us a price to pay the taxi driver if we were to take a cab on our own. Taxi drivers in Petra are notorious and they over charge tourists. I found Mohammed's information helpful.

We were there for one night during our trip in Jordan. Actually we wanted to arrive early in the evening but in unfortunately we were two hours too late. The owner wated for us althought we couldn‘t tell him anything about our delay.

He showed us our rooms and afterwards we got many several dishes which were all very tasty and delicious to eat.

On the next day he also explained us how to visit almost everything in Petra in a short time.

Thank you so much for this nice evening!

Hotel deserves 10/10 for its hospitality. Mohammad is a great host who goes out of his way to make your stay in Petra comfortable.
1. Upgraded our room for free.
2. Arranged a taxi for pick-up as soon as we arrived at the bus station.
3. Served ginger tea when sick.
4. On the first day we were served breakfast at 11.30 am. The breakfast was Jordinian style buffet which was tasty and healthy.
5. The hiking/walking path suggested by Mohammed made sure that all major sites in Petra were visited.

The rooms are very new and clean. The location of the hotel is a bit far from Petra entrance but taxis are easily available for 2-3 Jods one way.
Thank you Mohammed for making our stay in Petra a memorable one!

I was traveling alone and was a bit scared. I saw Mohammed's great references and so I decided to stay at his hotel. From the beginning he helped me and gave me a lot of advice. My trip without him would not have been the same. He has made my solo trip wonderful. I didn't have to worry about anything. I didn't even know where to have breakfast and I had breakfast ready. They also even prepared food for me to eat in Petra. I could always have lunch or dinner and if I needed transfers they were always available to take me there or back and I felt safe. Also there was a girl who was traveling alone and was in some difficulty and he helped the traveler (without asking anything in return, just good feelings). If you are a traveler who wants to be safe, come to this hotel. They will take care of you as if you were at home. I am eternally grateful. Thank you for everything. I will be back and if friends of mine ask me about Petra tips I will recommend Petra princess hotel.
