The weather was perfect. I had good meals, sometimes the meat or pancakes were cold and lacking the name of products. No information in the room. I had 0 face cloths for 3 days until I complained. A/c was blowing hot air
This is our first time at those hotel. And we want to say that everything is wonderful. We enjoy our big, clean, and stylish room. The resort provides a variety of delicious and great food. All the dishes are beautifuly served. The waiters are lovely, friendly and funny, I have a feeling that I came to visit old friends. Special many thanks to the manager Heriberto. He helps us at every stage. Even with a restaurant reservation. And of course thanks to Maria from the beach bar. Her smile and consistently good mood make our vacation even more enjoyable. Of the minuses - - no slippers in the room - the smells from Italian restaurant were way to strong. Therefore, we could use the balcony
People were extremely nice, but didn't speak much English. Overall disappointed as we couldn't get into any restaurants since they were all "booked". My fiance got food poisoning on the last night and we almost missed our flight because he was so sick.
All and all it was an enjoyable experience but I wouldn’t return to iberostar doninicana. The rooms themselves weren’t anything special. We upgraded on arrival to a family suite for an extra 1100$ and it just added a bedroom, no extra bathroom or balcony. Beds were ok, rooms very boring, old drapes, very plain, felt like an old motel. Coffee maker in room but no stir sticks or spoons to add milk or sugar. There was a small fridge that the house keepers stocked with soda and beer which was a nice touch. Each room has its own ac which was great but quite loud. The housekeepers were quick and efficient. We were travelling with small children so needed the bins emptied daily and we would leave for an hour and come back to a very tidy room. We were in room 2040 and the security guard was always out and about. Made us feel very safe. I went to watch the sunrise and he was walking the halls. Very nice gentlemen always saying hello and making chat with the babies. The pools were nice, cleaned daily and always something fun happening. A few times the dj had the music too loud at the pool, the kids and grandparents really hated this but when I asked he quickly turned it down. The pool has a towel hut but you have to bring the towels back before 7 or you get a charge. Sounds simple enough but it wasn’t and was unpleasant to be told you have to bring them back or else everyday. We ran back more than once and they wouldn’t even type or room into the iPad so I’m not sure how strict this rule is or if I’m going to get a huge fine but seems unnecessary, towels are included at any beach resort I’ve ever stayed at. The ocean was blue, the views were amazing, nice chairs, umbrellas, the sand was kept clean. Lots of people selling you crap on the beach but that is to be expected and not near as aggressive as most places I’ve been. People set up booths in the resort to sell things as well but even less aggressive. Bring anything you may need, the shops are outrageously priced. Avoid at all costs, pack extra wipes, sunscreen, feminine products, advil, ect. The bartenders were always having a good time and very friendly. We really liked the guys at the lobby bar. There was also a very quick floor server who remembered our orders and brought us drinks. The shows were interesting not great but the staff did their best to get people involved. They had a small park for the kids and rides which our group ended up at every night before dinner. The childrens camp opens for young children from 2-4. we brought our one year olds then and it was a great time and good way to spend some time out of the sun. Our daughter who is 4 cried both times she left the day camp and was very found of one of the teachers. They even did swimming lessons in the pool. The cafeteria was nice, flamingos and turtles in the pond next to it but the food wasn’t great. We wernt expecting it to be as Buffett but by the end of the trip you know what is ok and what’s not. Avoid the fresh fruit, it is anything but fresh. The restaurants weren’t good either, and the service in the Mexican restaurant was awful. There was a language barrier so my husband pointed to the dish he wanted and said it in English. When the wrong dish was brought the server yelled and pointed at him angrily saying it wasn’t what he ordered. I asked if they could please bring the other dish and she stormed off screaming in the kitchen and smashing plates around. No service after that, we left without tipping… There was lots of issues with the hot water and lots of construction going on while we were there. This hotel is great for families, the staff (asides from one server in Mexican restaurant) we’re on point. All so friendly and efficient. If your looking for something fancy this isn’t the place for you but if you want to go to DR and have great service, enjoy the beach and pool then it’s a descent resort. …
I did not like that when I arrived at the hotel they announced gift of credits of U$ 70, and them tried to force me to buy an apartment in the complex. The system applied is aggresive an inconsiderate to those who stay wth the desire to have a good time. They should have more honest sales police with well trained and more respectfull staff.
It was a great experience to spend our winter break in a warm destination with palm trees on the beach. The service and friendliness of staff was highly appreciated. We were glad to join the club and benefited of great extra services
Enjoyed the hotel very much. The room was clean and generally quiet. We spent time at the pool and the beautiful beachWe were only there for a week. We used the buffet restaurants. The steakhouse restaurant we reserved was very good. Our other reservation at the marimba was not so good as my fish was not cooked. We did a snorkeling excursion-great time. Lots of time share/presentation/offers which sometimes were a bit of a bother but generally staff were pleasant and hard working.
We had a good time here. Everyone is so nice and helpful. We felt safe at all times. We got drinks in a timely manner never had to wait a long time. We enjoyed the Mexican restaurant there. It was surprisingly delicious. We already talked about going to an Iberostar in Mexico.
Excellent hotel, the staff was truly dedicated to making sure the guests were satisfied with their stay. Clean rooms and very well maintained grounds. The food at the buffet was excellent, great variety to choose from, and the service was outstanding. The beech was amazing, the beech bar restaurant also had a good variety of choices. All in all my wife and I had a great vacation. I would recommend this resort. Paul T. Maple, On. Jan. 2023
If you are looking for an all inclusive stay that is kid friendly, has lots of pools to choose from, has a beach with soft powdery sand that you can walk along for hours in either direction, ocean access that you can just run into without fear of stumbling into a rock or coral, has a large variety of delicious food options available at all times of the day, clean rooms, friendly staff and great spa facilities then this is the resort for you. We stayed on the Dominicana side from December 31 - January 8. There were 6 of us (2 couples and 2 tweenagers) and we booked two standard garden view rooms that were connected by an interior door. One bathroom had a walk in shower and the other a tub/shower combo. Both were clean and all shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand soap were provided and refilled as needed. There is a safe in each room in the closet area. One night our safe errored on us and would not open. We called the front desk and someone was in our room to fix it in less than 10 minutes. Are the rooms super luxurious. No. But they are clean with towels and linens changed as needed, fridge and coffee bar area restocked daily and fully functional ac units in each room for peaceful nighttime sleeping. All of the staff that we met were very friendly and went out of their way to help us with anything that we may have needed. Everybody works really hard and long hours too. English is limited for some staff and our Spanish is not up to par so sometimes communication was a little dodgy. If there was a language barrier the staff were quick to try as hard as possible to understand or they would get some assistance from other team members. I didn’t see a lot of tipping happening which was surprising to me. We always bring money specifically for this purpose. We tip housekeeping a few dollars a day, at each meal and when ordering drinks at the bar. The staff are hard working and we wanted to show our appreciation and recognize their efforts to help make our stay truly a fantastic experience. In terms of restaurants and food options, we were lucky to get to try all of the a la cart options along with the buffets. There is an oriental (La Pagoda), steak house (La Cana), French (La Sibila), American (Star Rock Cafe), Mediterranean (La Dorada) and Mexican (Maria Bonita) a la cart options available. Favourites within our group were the oriental, Mexican and French restaurants but really all were great. There are 2 large buffet restaurants on either side of the Mexican restaurant. Both are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and each have the same food options as each other. We would go there for breakfast each morning and sometimes lunch if the buffet close to the beach was super busy. Will we be back? Absolutely! …
