CANNOT WAIT to return!!! This review is long overdue, but had to be written! Since I traveled right before the world shut down for the pandemic, I cannot speak to current safety regulations, but only to the amazing experience in early 2020. Please don't let any bad press pre-pandemic sway you from booking at this resort. I always felt safe and there were no issues during my stay with food or drink. From the first moment we stepped onto the resort grounds, we were greeted with incredible warmth, hospitality and big smiles. Resort grounds are immaculately maintained and you see the staff working constantly to keep things in tip top shape. The crowning achievement here is the phenomenal, hard-working staff. Our stay would not have been the same without them. I must shout out some of the amazing staff that made us feel like family! The buffet crew, every morning at breakfast: Miguel, Pastor, Altagracia, Yohan, Jennifer y Macier On the beach: Glenni! Entertainment Crew: Veronica, Arismendy, Adrian aka mini me, Yefri Fernando y Hansel! My only dislike of the entire stay is the open concept bathroom. We were in a standard room with 2 beds. The dual sinks are open to the room. The toilet had it's own enclosed space, as did the shower. The 2 are not connected. Otherwise, beds were comfortable, AC was great; we had a balcony, sitting area, mini fridge, safe and good size closet. If you're considering booking here, definitely recommend that you do so as you will not regret it!

The good: -Poolside drinks service was top notch -COVID related policies (mask wearing, spacing, ect) were well followed by staff and guests -Restaurant managers & wait staff were accommodating when needed. Especially when we were trying to get into the Japanese Hibachi last minute and the manager somehow accommodated a group of 4 out of nowhere despite everything being "Full" -Food was good. Not great but not bad either. Presentation was very well done. Buffets were pretty good even with the tough logitics The Bad: -Check-in was horrendous. When we arrived and were not really well greated, our bags were taken, and after a couple people handoffs we were brought to a holding banquet room where every 5-10 minutes someone would come and ask for some information. After about 45 minutes of waiting and not really sure what was going on, we were greeted by a "butler" I think and escorted out of the lobby area with 2 other groups. We were given a very brief tour and the guide eventually just handed us our envelope with our keys in it and said our butler would meet us at our room. We were a little confused but just went to our room and found no one there nor did anyone show up. We waited another 20 minutes for bags (now 1.5hrs since we arrived). All we wanted to do was get in suits and hit the pool before it closed. Eventually got our bags, never did see our butler that night or get any information about the resort (not a map, or food info, ect).

If you’re looking to be pampered with service unmatched to any other resort in this area, this is the place for you. I’ve stayed at quite a few all inclusives in Mexico from 3-5 stars and I’m not a terribly picky person so a few cracked tiles or uneven paint (if you scrutinized every inch) doesn’t phase me. The overall cleanliness and well kept grounds, as well as the elegant lobby and wonderful staff make this a 5 star in my book. If you want true relaxation come to this place! Yes there was some maintenance upkeep that needed to be done but by no means is this run down or was it such an obvious issue that it would keep you from having a truly luxury vacation. Great food, awesome drinks and gorgeous rooms...but what made this resort stand out was the staff: so friendly, always smiling and helpful to any question, as well as go out of their way to make your experience wonderful. As soon as we stepped foot on the beach someone was off and running with our towels to find us a bed or chairs to sit in. Drinks were always replenished with smiles and the service (even at the buffet) was top notch. The spa and hydrotherapy area was just what I needed for the goal of this trip: relaxation getaway. The water was too rough to go in when we were there but there are so many pools that finding somewhere to lounge around was no issue at all. Can’t speak to whether there is a ton of fun things as I just went to relax and didn’t go to main pool area or join activities etc, but there was always lively music at main pool. We did see two night shows but wasn’t really into listening to some men sing oldies (although they were good). I would have preferred a more lively nightly entertainment but that’s my personal choice. Pros: service, spa, elegance of grounds/lobby. Cons: dull nighttime entertainment and a bit longer to get there from the airport than I thought (35-40 min). Overall top notch absolutely gorgeous place.

My husband and I were there November 12 - 22. We were so very happy with our stay. The service was perfect. The weather was outstanding and would love to return next year. Rosaira, Juan Bernardo, and Ponce took the most excellent care of us. We really felt like family. When we left, they lined up and waved bye. I literally wanted to cry. I felt 100% safe and made life long friends. The general manager has also checked on us since our return to the U.S.A. We can not wait to return!

PROS: I will start with the positives. A lot of the workers, specifically bar staff, were great when they got to know you. We went back to several bars to visit specific workers who made the experience more fun. Food was pretty good at all restaurants. They did a good job of trying to keep the sea weed cleaned up. Pool party events were fun especially the foam party and pineapple drink party. Room was awesome and huge and definitely stayed clean and up to par. They even did something special for my Mom's birthday in her room when we asked. The tepanyaki restaurant was a great time. The staff goes above and beyond to make it fun for everyone there. CONS: Probably the biggest complaint I have is how early the bars closed. Swim up bars closed before it was even dark. AND we had a swim out room we paid extra for and were even asked to get out of the pool at our swim up room at 6:00 every night because they had put chemicals in the pool..... this was really frustrating. We paid good money for the swim out room and wanted to utilize it whenever we wanted. Definitely killed our vibe. Secondly, the beach restaurant required full clothes and shoes and even if you put clothes over your suit and were wet they personally come and KICKED YOU OUT. Literally, made us put our plates down and leave..... at a beach side restaurant.... this didn't make much sense. Every resort I have visited that offered a beach side restaurant was casual dress so you could hop off the beach and grab lunch at your convenience. Seaweed was an issue our first day. It was disappointing to look out and just see giant clumps of sea weed all over the beach and in the water. However, they did a great job of trying their best to keep it cleaned up and in the mornings it always looked a lot better. This is sort of out of their control but I felt it should be noted. Many of the restaurants that required reservation also required men to wear pants. Not many men in our group packed pants for a trip to a hot climate area so we were unable to go to several places to try the food. Don't expect to have access to the sister resorts. Although you can walk there you are unable to get drinks or anything at their bars.
