We rent a few cottages every summer so I have a good basis for comparison. This cottage is absolutely overpriced. At the $350/night price point for a small 2 bedroom cottage I would have expected clean linens, functioning windows, clean bathtub, etc. No matter the accommodation I expect to lightly sanitize but when I’m told linens are provided I would expect them to be clean. When I was spraying down the beds upon arrival I noticed hairs in the sheets/quilts, and when I pulled them back there was enough sand that it was noticeable. We had to go to Walmart to purchase linens and blankets. While sitting outside in the morning I saw cleaning staff and never saw them leave or return with a comforter when changing the bedding. The bathtub appeared clean but I don’t think it was washed as when my young child took a shower she wiped out knocking her tooth out. Definitely check for oil before using the shower. Ive never left a negative review so I don’t have many photos of negative things. I happened to take these of the washroom to send to a friend. It’s obviously some kind of grime that’s been building over time- Not to mention the makeshift cardboard/taped window. If all shared fire pits are in use it puts a damper if you plan to roast marshmallows with your family. The shed that houses the coin laundry had a lot of bugs and was also being used as a storage area. The pool is pretty run down and the shower doesn’t work well and is ice cold. We didn’t plan to be inside so didn’t think not having couches to hang out at mattered but it rained for some of our stay and it was kind of crummy We’ve had some experiences with run down amenities at older facilities before and understand beach cottages can be fairly “rustic” and “well loved” but those places are priced accordingly and we return yearly to many of them! Even with all of that said, I’d return with my family if the price was reflective of the park. But I would make sure to bring our own linens, bath mat, pillows, etc. The beach was amazing for the kids. Beautiful sand and really clean and shallow water. When purchasing things along the beach we noticed how cranky many of the owners/employees were. I’ve never experienced anything like it. WHY ARE THE EMPLOYEES SO MISERABLE? I felt like I was back in Toronto! There were a few nice ones though - we had some sweaters made at a shop run by younger men and they were great to my family - easy to talk to, nice conversation, etc. There was also a really welcoming store by the beach entrance to the left that mostly sold clothing - run by a really nice Chinese man. The mini golf down the street was absolutely incredible. My husband took my daughter for an early walk one morning and they were looking in through the gate, the owner stopped for a chat and gave my daughter a pirate coin for a free round. Things like that make all the difference. Themed attractions like this aren’t usually this well maintained or as tastefully done. Really beautiful and the music playing really set the mood. I would suggest finding out when non peak hours are - there were many people behind us and it’s hard to take in all of the details and enjoy yourself when you’re trying to hurry everyone along. By far our best experience and most memorable activity!…
We stayed in one of the suites upstairs a couple months ago. Positives: - Spacious - Good kitchen - They had a few BBQs! - Nice location Areas to improve on: - The heater was very noisy! Not a good night sleep. - Lots of mold at the floor of the bathtub
Stayed just one night. Very impressed with staff ,room and grounds. Nice terrace .close to shopping area and short walk to beach. Wifi was good. Very clean and well stocked for longer stays. Kitchenette was very clean.comforable sleep. Will definately stay her again.
My husband and I visited Saga Resort for 3 days/2 nights. Our little cabin was spacious, exquisite and very clean. It was equipped with all the amenities to cook and even BBQ; there was a great little deck/patio to sit and enjoy the fresh cool air. The grounds were well kept, the hotel staff was courteous and kind. The manager on duty Jennifer was welcoming, professional, courteous and extremely helpful. Thank you Jennifer for the wonderful service above and beyond. You are indeed a great ambassador for your company. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.
Stayed here one night. Worst wi fi ever, kicked off every 10 seconds. even with 2 choices of wifi connections Room was average. Noisy vehicles outside. No ice cube tray in freezer but they do sell ice for $3 a bag..... Could walk to the beach easily and free parking, Could use better thicker towels and better pillows. But mostly the wi fi needs to be improved
