Nestling within sight of the open sea at the mouth of the tranquil Camel Estuary, Padstow, in Cornwall, has always been a thriving fishing port and commercial centre for north Cornwall. At the heart of the town and overlooking the medieval harbour is the Old Custom House, now a stylish and intimate place to stay. Standing on the quayside, the Old Custom House is still one of the finest buildings in the town. Today it is famous for its fine food, award winning ales, elegant, intimate accommodation and for its luxurious Beauty Studio.

Really lovely stay at the Old Custom House. The staff were great and helpful, the restaurant was helpful to find gluten free options at dinner and breakfast. Thank you very much. Bad shower water pressure, great location but lovely room and lovely staff :D

Seen better days definitely and disappointing for a St Austell Brewery establishment in such a prominent position. Tired and grubby throughout. Our room was very small for £170 per night and was filthy in places - see photos of windows. Broken glass pane and mildew terrible! I'm fed up with the covid/brexit excuses for poor levels of service yet alone cleanliness! Breakfast was OK and the serving staff were friendly. Have to say that on the first day of our stay someone had kindly left their dog poo bag right in the main doorway of the part of the hotel where breakfast was served. Day two it was still there despite being in full view of the staff - that sums up the feel of neglect of the place. It is very disappointing that a two night stay costs £340 for B&B is so under par.

Decided to try the restaurant at the end of a day trip to Padstow. Glad we made the stop as the food we had (fish & chips) (crab linguine) was first class. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and the pub and restaurant area were well laid out.

The hotel is in a good position on the corner of Padstow harbour. The room was good with large wash basin and shower. Nice breakfast. I had a call to tell me the room was ready before 3pm but when I arrived about 2.30 I found the door to reception locked and had to walk through the busy pub with my bags. The sea view room shown on Hotels.com shows a full harbour view and what I got was a side car park and sea view.

Fantastic location - couldn’t fault it! Our room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The parking would be a problem if you wanted to ‘come and go’ due to the hotel not having a car park. However, I would definitely recommend The Old Custom House and will return!
