Wow - Seaham Hall did not disappoint- delicious food , superbly comfortable room, great spa, friendly efficient staff. We spent a wonderful 4 days visiting family in the surrounding area- every member of staff was welcoming , and ready to accommodate any request - including ice cream for a coughing 4 year old!! Housekeeping was of a high standard and the grounds are immaculate. Only minor negative might be the overly complex room lights - but we loved our stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights in the Penthouse suite, which really was a suite (as opposed to a slightly bigger bedroom with a sofa at the end of the bed, which is what you often get these days). Huge bedroom; bathroom; lounge; second bedroom and second bathroom. All beautifully decorated. However the lighting fixtures were so complicated it took us days to master them (and one vital overhead lighting for the bed could only be operated from one side of the bed - not good.) We had a great view over the front gardens of the hotel, with a view of the sea in the distance. Lift up part of the way and then some steps (which we had been told about prior to booking) Huge and comfortable bed. The staff were the best thing about the whole stay - they were absolutely splendid - unfailingly helpful, friendly and efficient. Very attractive and well kept grounds with place to sit. A short walk through the grounds brought one to the seaside and a small café. The coast is not pretty, but it is the coast. There is a bus stop at the end of the drive, with a bus route into Seaham and Sunderland. Durham and Newcastle are also within fairly easy driving distance. The breakfasts were great and, joy of joys, served to you at the table. None of this queuing at a buffet. The one problem we had was the food at dinner. It was far too complicated and "fancy" for us. But, obviously, a lot of guests liked this sort of thing. The hotel has two restaurants, the main one in the house and another less formal one in the Spa. Service excellent in both. The Spa restaurant serves Asian food. It was a very expensive trip away, but overall we enjoyed ourselves very much. Many thanks to the excellent staff.

Booked Junior Suite Dinner Bee and breakfast as a getaway present for my Wife’s birthday. We spent the day in the spa. The spa offers many varieties of spa facilities and our room was very luxurious. We had lunch and dinner and they were both delicious. Everything is very pricy as you would expect but it was well worth it. The Staff and the service were impeccable.

Had a lovely twilight spa here. Took my daughter for 1st time. Massage was fabulous, we then went to ozone restaurant where staff were attentive and food was amazing and very filling. We opted for mocktails as were driving which were delicious. Spa facilities were clean, all staff were friendly and helpful and a credit to seaham hall
