Detailed Reviews
We stayed here on business for a week and found it very handy for the town centre.
The hotel itself is fairly old but parts of it have been recently refurbished which certainly adds to its charm.
The hotel staff themselves were very helpful and eager to ensure that your stay is all that it should be.
The only issue that I have (and which has been mentioned elsewhere) is that sometimes it can be very cold - that's not helped by the heating only being on in the rooms between 5 pm and 11pm - not a great thing at the height of winter. In addition whilst the bed is very comfortable the quilts provided seemed to be summer quality so you may need quilts from both beds to keep warm during the night.
The food menu is fairly limited however all dishes tried were very tasty and served to us very efficiently - this extended also to breakfast. Where this hotel set itself apart was that your ' full irish' breakfast is cooked to order so it arrives at you piping hot.
I'd certainly recommend the hotel for a stay.

Hotel is situated on the main street a couple of minutes from the railway station. Hotel was very clean and the food was good and keenly priced but service ends at 7. There is a Chinese restaurant in the basement of the hotel. The room was large with 4 beds, a table and a couple of chairs with a decent sized bathroom.
Negatives:
Two single beds pushed together with two single duvet covers to form a double bed
Only two stations on the television.
Parking is very tight
Slightly noisy if there is a stag party but same can be said for most hotels
In conclusion, and in consideration of these points, my wife and I would happily stay again if in Mullingar

Was in Mullingar to attend funeral, good location room was perfect warm good secure car park, efficent staff, breakfast was delicious served in the bar, found the bar slightly chilly, but the girl serving was pleasant and could not have been more helpful would come back when again in Mullingar, good value for money.

COVID opportunists during the current pandemic climate. Booked the hotel for 31/3/20 during the lockdown to work as a frontline healthcare worker in the area. Hotel was basic and the service abrupt and impolite, however I was happy to have a bed for the night. The rate of €59 was paid in cash as the card machine was broken and an invoice was generated the following day. On enquiring about a reservation for one night on 27/4/20, I was quoted €79/night or if I wished to stay for 3 or more nights the cost reduced to €65/night. I am in disbelief and disappointed that they are incentivising people to stay for longer during a pandemic lockdown and are capitalising on this unfortunate situation. They are clearly not of the “we’re all in this together” attitude. I’m still awaiting a response to my email sent to the hotel regarding the reason why they have increased their prices.

The Newbury Hotel was a fantastic source of accommodation for myself and a few other students attending the local hospital for a few weeks for college placement. I could not commend their warm hospitality enough. The staff (with particular mention to the lovely Lesley) were extremely helpful and friendly, and managed to make the place a home away from home for us. Hope to be back soon, thank you again!

Nebury opted to cancel my booking at a moments notice leaving us without accomodation. They have bumped us of to house refugees. We cannot find any other accomodation in Mullingar so have had to cancel our planned trip. We will not be reimbursed for our flight tickets leaving us way out of pocket. This is not the first time the Newbury has done this but it will certainly be the last. Absolutely disgraceful

This is an excellent property. It's my go-to location when staying in Boston's Back Bay. I want to single out Front Desk staffer Tamace and Bell Staffer Blake. They took good care of me today on what was a cold, sleety early morning. Very professional, and most appreciated.

All the staff I met were really friendly & cheerful.
A Chinese restaurant on site, that cheerfully delivers to your room ... generous portions.
It was covid lock down when I was there - but they provided a lovely continental breakfast.
Parking area out the back.
Recommend - I'll stay again !

Pleasant hotel, charming waitress, nice food. Stopped in on the way back to Dublin, got an all day breakfast. Was of a very good standard and the waitress very pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend and would return next time I'm in Mullingar.
