This was our first trip to Ireland where we stayed near Dublin airport the night before our flight. We dropped off our rental car the afternoon before making the return experience less nerve wracking. Collinswood is very comfortable, clean and a good choice of accommodation. Jim was most hospitable and helpful, arranging for a morning taxi to the airport. We had to leave early before the cooked breakfast was served, so I regret not tasting that and assume it is delicious. Cold breakfast, coffee, and tea were available and I am grateful for that. Collinswood is right on a bus line, adding to the convenience of getting around.
Merci beaucoup Richard.
We stayed here the night before our departure at Dublin Airport. We had to turn our car in at 10AM and it was only a 15 min drive (and hardly any traffic). There is parking right in front of the house. Jim was very hospitable and the house was nice and clean. Our room and en-suite bath was tiny, but quiet and comfortable. We headed out for dinner with his recommendation and enjoyed walking around Sword. Breakfast was delicious! We would certainly stay again.
Had a lovely stay for few days the hosts are amazing so warm and friendly rooms spotless breakfast was delicious and the décor so modern Jim and Katrina gave you a real Irish welcome🇮🇪 ☘️🇮🇪 bus stop outside front door ! Fantastic location to swords amazing pavilion shopping centre and historical castle to visit 👌
My husband and I stayed at Collinswood three days. Jim is a very helpful host and guided us in what buses to take and reserved taxis for us when the buses weren't running. He also packed us sandwiches when we had to leave early in the morning. He was also helpful with sightseeing recommendations and information about the area. Tea and coffee are always available for self service in the dining room. Cold juice and yogurts are in the fridge for snacks. He made us a fantastic full Irish breakfast that will long be remembered. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bird's chorus of singing in the morning was beautiful. The bathroom is tiny and there are no washcloths so bring a scrubbie or something of your own. Water in the shower can be scalding hot so be careful with the setting before you step in. The lamps on the nightstands are fussy and difficult to turn on and off. Only one electrical outlet in the bedroom is easily accessible for charging phones. Using a hair appliance is frustrating as only electric shavers can be used over the sink so bring an extra mirror to use the outlet in the bedroom. The room does not come with a blow dryer so be sure to bring your own. There is no table for sitting at should you need to use a laptop or a place to set makeup on while you do your face. I just laid a towel in the sink and laid my makeup in there while I applied it. The price was very reasonable for the few inconveniences and I would definitely stay again but would bring an extra mirror, washcloths and blow dryer for myself. Very close to the airport and a nice walk into the town of Swords. A great bakery across from Swords castle. Try the lemon treacle cake! Amazing!…
Top! Top Empfehlung ! Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig. Einzig der Straßenlärm war etwas unschön.
Stranded in Ireland after storm Desmond. Absolute chaos at the airport finally Ryan air got us somewhere to stay after spending 5 hours queuing in Dublin airport. We got a taxi to Swords to this bed and breakfast, to be greeted at the door by the owner saying that we never had a room as several minutes after booking the room, he said it was cancelled, and he had given the room to some Spanish tourist. Why we would get a €17 taxi to his guest house if it had been cancelled God only knows. But it was a mystery why it was cancelled . The thing that annoyed me was this guy never even invited us in out of the cold and wind and rain. We explained that we had no charge on our phones. He never even offered to phone around to find an alternative accommodation. He said there is a travel lodge, but he wouldn't ring it because it was a premium rate number. So we walk around in a town we didn't know, with no phone for an hour and a half, and finally ended up in Portmarnock. So I would just like to thank you for nothing Mr unhelpful bed & breakfast proprietor.…
