Kettles Hotel
If this place didn’t exist they would have to invent in a film about a 5 star hotel with wonderful staff pretending to be a three star. There would be a magical welcoming receptionist who asks how your( long ) journey was and chats away about your visit and tells you the options for dinner- giving you the sense that a million locals will be here ( which they were) but not to worry it would be grand.
“And if you are going to be a little late just give me a call”

And so it was . A Carvery until 8 on Sunday was bustling , yet even after a long day for Chef’s ,was served fresh and full of flavours.Particular thanks to the manager who took over the line for last stragglers and carved and cared that young people with us got fed. A proper bar had a great selection and wise people who knew how to run one while wait staff went efficiently and checked if everything was satisfactory. The place ran like you joined a family gathering .
Room 202 was another pleasant surprise. Airy and large( and even had a bath) the TV electronics and plugs and sockets you could want and a proper chair and corner lamp to read a book.
In short Kettles are a credit to themselves and the tradition of Irish Hospitality.
There really should be a film about them .
Value for money 5/5.
Cead mile Failte 5/5 .
Room 5/5
Team 5/5.
Well done and thank you.

We visited Kettles on the evening of the 5th January and really enjoyed our meal there. Fiona, who looked after us, was so friendly and the service was excellent. The food was very tasty and great value. The lounge was spotless and all indoor diners were asked to show their covid certs. Will definitely be going there again.

My son and daughter in law had their reception Can I start by saying the staff make this hotel . Friendly , polite happy to meet all needs always on hand without being over bearing a very happy atmosphere The rooms exceptionally clean the cleaning staff happy to help with extra beds etc, we booked the hotel out, and had camp beds placed in rooms Beds, pillows and bathroom essentials all provided The wedding meal was delicious roasting hot when served extra gravy set all tables without asking as for the canopies before the meal They were exceptional and kept coming in waves no guest was left without from sconces ,smoked salmon, chocolate dipped strawberries , spring rolls ,tiny quiches, a meal in itself Supper was served and we were allowed to bring down tayto crisps from the north to accompany the lovely bread and butter along with the supper proved. Breakfast served until 11am which was a delight for the younger quests I could go on Colin, the owner worked the room from start to finish the whole night. I’ve never seen an owner work as hard with his staff Prices very competitive A truly delightful and surprising find can’t recommend highly enough. We will be back and intend to support this local business Thankyou to all

Had a meal with my family today and were very impressed with the overall experience we had at Kettles. The outdoor dining is laid out fantastically with everybody in mind can't fault them at all. Our food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and on the ball. We were looked after by Fiona who was great. My grandad really enjoyed himself out and it was so nice to go somewhere where the outdoor dining was so easily accessible for him. Highly recommend especially if you have children or there is a few of ya.

I visited this questionable establishment alongside my partner during our visit to Dublin, hoping to experience an authentic irish carvery. However our experience can only be described as downright appalling. The steak was dry, the potatoes looked like they had been resurrected from the famine. The experience was further hindered by the rude and entitled staff. Whilst tucking into my diabolical meal, myself and my partner received ‘side eye’ from several staff members. I suspect that this was due to our status as a homosexual couple. I requested some extra napkins and the response I got was a sigh and an eye roll from the young lady who we asked, who then proceeded to laugh and snigger at us with one of her coworkers. When we finally decided that we had enough of this marginalisation, and asked for the bill, I was shocked to see what our total amounted to for a meal that was possibly the most grim thing I have ever seen. Because of the poor service and my German customs, I did not leave a tip. When the young lady saw this she became vulgar and unnecessarily aggressive while stacking the plates. She made a snide remark, referring to a local gay bar and compared my partner to philip schofield, who I later learned is a local gay celebrity who was recently embroiled in a scandal that I believe involved an underaged man. I would not recommend this ‘restaurant’ to anyone who is visiting the area, I can only describe the 80 euro I paid as robbery. Absolutely shocking!

Visited one of our old favourites for a Sunday carvery lunch. Located in a nice quite setting just outside of Swords. This was our first visit back after covid and sadly it was a big disappointment with the quantity of fare on offer for the price. I ordered the half portion of corned beef which was served on a plate not much bigger than a side plate. My partner had half portion turkey. The cost of a half portion of is €9.95 and a full portion is €14.95. The half portion priced at 2/3rds the cost of the full portion is of itself not value for money but when i also take account that my portion didn't even half fill this small plate I would say that i had been well and truly done. My partner fared a bit better having got two slices of turkey compared to less than half of that i was served in meat. The floor staff are wonderfully friendly and attentive. I would give them 5***** Sadly somebody needs to take a look at what the kitchen is serving up to their customers as I believe it's shockingly measly snd miserable and definitely not value for money. One other thing, please do not allow your customers to lean in over the counter to smell the cooked food. I seen one person doing this with the server who was looking on saying nothing waiting to take their order.

Our original booking was for the first two nights of a week long trip to Ireland. We wound up staying for the entire week. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. By the second day we were on first name basis with Emily, Jennifer, Barry and others. A huge thank you to the fabulous Fiona who is simply the best at what she does and to Mr Kettles himself who drove us back to Dublin Airport to pick up a rented car.
The breakfasts were excellent and the dinner menu is great too

Swords is a great location for the Airport and there's a big shopping mall right in the village.

Highly recommend!!

Would not recommend! Have stayed in this hotel atleast 10 times in 2022. My boyfriend and I stayed on 22nd December for 1 night. On the 24th of december €250 was taking from our account! Not to mention it was taken from an account that no autorization was giving as it was booked from another card on booking.com. Ive rang numerous of times for a manager and im getting passed from pillar to post. We are non smokers and the room was spotless when we checked out at 8am the next morning (23rd) when I rang the first time I dealt with a very cheeky receptionist to be told “well it was taken from you for a reason”. Still to this minute I havent recieved a call back. Every time ive rang ive explained we are non smokers and we dont know why this was taken! It has left me with no other option but to take it to this. Hopefully someone will see this and actually contact me over this matter.

Right from the moment we entered the Kettle's
Hotel we where greeted with smiles
Our waitress Fiona Krijnen welcomed us with great happiness 😊 we arrived a bit early just before 12:30 but we where still welcome to take a seat.
We where celebrating Mother's day with my 91 year old grandmother May and I can say Fionna
And all the staff could not do enough for us .
This really was a fantastic day we had a beautiful carvery dinner and the chef was also very kind and had great customer service we all really enjoyed the beautiful food .

Both my husband and grandmother and myself would fully recommend the kettles Hotel for any occasion u might be celebrating or even just a well deserved relaxation time.
