Hotel's Favourite
It's our second stay in this hotel. We like the location and the comfort. Very clean, with a coffee machine in the room, very comfortable bed, good breakfast and very friendly staff. Stefan 😉👍🏼, the receptionist makes bad jokes, but is a nice guy who will be happy to give you some good advice about what to do and see.

I stayed here for one night after coming from Landmannalaugar after Sunset and wanting nearby hotel. I found the hotel online, but was too late in the day to book online (around midnight). I called ahead and receptionist was friendly and offered me a good rate. The hotel was nearly brand new and not busy. I found the hotel to be a good value given my three prior trips to Iceland. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The hotel was located just outside the main town center so the rooms are quiet. I would stay here again if I was in Selfoss.

Nice new hotel to base yourself from when adventuring in the Golden Circle, Large rooms with comfy beds, big walkin shower. Excellent service from the staff. Breakfast worth the extra you pay, Parking at the rear of the hotel with easy access, very wheelchair friendly

Room was very warm/hot and we got very little sleep due to the temperature. The window can barely open and provided localized cooling just to the window area floor. Rest of the room remained too hot.
As others said the road noise is very present especially if you need to keep the window open.
The shower head was very low pressure. Basically water dripping out. But the hand wand washer was powerful so that had to be used for getting soap out.

A slight above average hotel along the way from Golden Circle to Vik, good for a night stopover. This is one of the best hotels in the Selfoss town which is a right place for a night stay as the town has a few supermarkets (Kronan, Netto) and there are good restaurants as well. So, location of the hotel is perfect.
The room was clean and bed was comfortable. There is a Nespresso coffee machine provided in my room, a nice offer. Anyway, the room was basic and rain shower in the bathroom lacks power/pressure. My room (room 314) was facing the main road, the noise from cars passing by was distracting when we need to keep our window to have a small gap to allow fresh air circulation in the room (no air conditioning during early summer). Breakfast was simple and decent, good enough before we start our day driving to the next destination.

The hotel is very well located close to many good restaurants. Rooms are modern and clean and the breakfast was nice. The hotel has a spa but to use it you have to pay 3000kr per person and for that reason I could not give Excellent rating. So strange not to offer hotel guests to use the spa. I would rather pay 1000kr and go to the Selfoss community pool nearby that offers much more for a better price.

This was our final hotel on our road trip around Iceland before returning to Reykjavik and proved to be an excellent choice. It is located in the town centre on quite a busy road. Parking at the hotel proved to be no problem and you can walk to local restaurants very quickly.
Our superior room was precisely that: large, comfortable and very well appointed. The man on reception was very helpful and directed us to the convenient choice of local eateries as the hotel does not provide an evening meal. We went for the Food Hall, where there is a good choice of options and which is no more than fifty yards away.
We took advantage of the Happy Hour in the hotel and had our drink in the lobby.
The only detraction for our stay was the fact that we arrived at breakfast just after a large tour group had left. Tables were not clear and there was a shortage of food at first. Staff did their best to replenish as quickly as possible and ultimately there was a decent choice for breakfast food.

This is a very nice hotel, ample free parking in the rear and a quaint and intimate breakfast hotel. The cook was very proud of some new bakery items he had recently introduced.
There are a couple items you can be smarter than we were, and a couple things the hotel can fix.
In the summer, it was warm here. The rooms felt like 70-75 degrees from the afternoon sun. So we slept with the windows open. Bad idea. The road in the front of the hotel has REALLY loud truck and car noise up through 1:00 am. It made sleeping difficult. So, ask for a room that faces the back (or parking lot) (in the summer).
For the hotel; this was not an inexpensive room and our room was bright all night due to no black-out curtains. Every other hotel over ten days had back-out curtains.

We stayed here in February 2020,staff we extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and modern. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of both hot and cold foods ( scrambled eggs, rashers , beans , sausage , fresh bread, yougurt , fruit , seeds and honey ). We checked out early and received warm pastries and coffee for breakfast 😊. Free carpark at the back of hotel which included charging points for electric cars. Overall an enjoyable stay.

We ended up staying for 3 nights and enjoyed our time in the area. The reception was very friendly and always available to help out. The hotel is in a nice area, easy to walk to nearby restaurants and bars. We did the Golden Circle day from here as well as a trip to the Lava Museum in Hella and Secret Lagoon so the location is very central for things on the southwestern corner of the island. The bed was also one of the most comfortable we stayed in on the trip and the shower was quite spacious! Breakfast was tasty, nothing too fancy but good selection and delicious espresso machine.
