We ended here by random chance. Despite the limited menu, their food is incredibly tasty and - for Iceland - cheap. The service is impeccable. They were offering free deserts to our children but they were too full to accept.

Skyr was a very nice stay with friendly staff and a very quaint, tasty restaurant. A full breakfast was provided in the morning. Room was comfortable and super cute! The hotel is close to many other stores and restaurants in the area as well. Great place to stop along a drive to the south coast or back to Reykjavik.

So wonderful! So comfortable! Very nice and helpful staff! Great location! Food delicious! So much to see and do around there. Head up the hill for a pleasant hiking surprise. We actually really liked the shared bathrooms… there were plenty to use.

We arrived to spend two prebooked nights only to find the place had closed last year. Apparently they have conned other people as well. Beware you could lose your money. Thanks to the local Tourist Information centre who found us emergency alternative accommodation

We stayed in November 2017 for a night. The room, on the second floor, was quiet (despite an event downstairs), comfortable and clean. There were a couple chairs for lounging and a small sink. Shared bathroom facilities, which, before arrival, we weren’t sure about. But they were immaculate and weren’t an issue at all. Only down side was the view - of the parking lot, but nothing can be done about that.
Very reasonably priced for Iceland and the included breakfast was fabulous.

This is a beautiful guesthouse and is one of the best we have ever stayed in, we stayed in the suite which is a shabby chic style room with en-suite, the food was delicious and the staff were amazingly friendly. Would highly recommend.

Sweet guesthouse with comfortable, nicely decorated rooms, tasty restaurant, and friendly staff. We had to leave for the airport before breakfast was served in the morning and the staff was nice enough to prepare a takeaway bag for us and brought it to the room the night before. Very generous of them and very much appreciated. Great place to stay, would love to come back.

Lovely room in what looked like a converted farmhouse, very nicely done. It´s a shared bathroom but only between a few rooms and it´s kept very clean.Very quiet. Beds very comfortable.No blackout curtains (we visited in midnight sun season) but that seems to be the norm in Iceland.

While Skyr Gerdin's website appears to be a resort for families with listed "activities" as horseback riding, hiking, river rafting and tours of the Skyr yoghurt factory, none of this is offered here.
It is basically a small motel, restaurant and parking lot. Period. No common areas to speak of and has small rooms and shared baths. There was no coffeemaker, no closet, not even any glasses in our room. The rooms were sleek and clean. Breakfast is included. Wi-fi was marginal.
It would be a good place for adults. The restaurant featured a nice menu and very good food.
We tried to arrange one of the advertised Skyr yoghurt factory tours to no avail. After one night we moved to the much-more family friendly Hotel Ork for the remainder of our stay.

We visited this restaurant 3 times during our stay in Hveragerdi. Relaxing atmosphere and decor. Great food, freshly cooked. The home made soups and the fish stew were delicious. Staff very pleasant and extremely helpful.
