Detailed Reviews
Ideally for those who to relax, Monte do Zeca is located between Zambujeira do Mar and Cabo Sardão. The room and bathroon were clean. The room had a TV (no cable or satelite) and mini-bar. Outside the room and facing the garden and swimming pool, there is a hammock.
Let's not forget the breakfast - freshly juiced orange juice, a cake (everyday baked), the bread...
After this and if you mange to have time, do not forget to visit the nearby beaches (Alteirinhos, Carvalhal....)!

We stayed at Monte do Zeca for 2 nights and it was pure bliss. The room was very clean, the staff was the friendliest we've ever seen. They baked every day fruit cakes and the smell in the kitchen was absolutely amazing. The food was fresh and in abundance for breakfast.
We relaxed in our hammock, watching the stars and listening the frogs and crickets from the nearby pond.
During the day, we took 2 free bikes from the location and followed their route recommendation to see the lighthouse, ride along the coastline and eat at the Barca restaurant (delicious food).

My husband and I stayed in the Monte de Zeca for 3 nights.
Great location, great food but simple, beautiful setting.
We had an appartment with 2 rooms and a barbecue. It was very clean.
We enjoyed getting fresh bread every morning at the door. The staff are very nice and helpful.
The information book in the appartment was interesting.
The only problem was that the bed was little bit small and not very confortable.
The doors are small which means you can bang your head easily.

This lodging is one of the best I've been for the money. It has great conditions (swimming pool, lake with boats, soccer field, animals for the kids to know), the staff is great, and the breakfast was awesome. Besides this, the natural wonders from this area of Portugal are amazing.
I certainly recommend this to everyone in search for rest.

Stuff is not friendly, we had the feeling we were not welcome..we were in the bungalow, was nice but was a bit noisy during the night, like sleeping outdoors. The breakfast ok, pool ok, facilities ok but its true the best virgin beaches are located just few kms from the hotel.

Relaxing and quiet place (only hear a lot of birds and frogs), small but nice pool, average breakfast included, modern and well maintained.
Nice balcony with a hammock and a table. There is a small lake on the property and farm animals, what is nice for kids to enjoy. Take in consideration that this looked more as a family place than a relaxation spot. Good value.
On the negative side, I found the mattress extremely hard and unconfortable and I would love if they review this very important aspect and also the internet reliability.

Peaceful accommodation that allows rest and relaxation.
It has one or another aspect improve. The most important is related to the mattresses of the beds. They are uncomfortable.
Close to Zambujeira do Mar and restaurants.
Great for hiking.
Near beaches and nature.
People are friendly.
Nice regional breakfast.

Beautiful rural hotel by the gorgeous seaside village of Zambujeira do Mar in the Costa Vicentina Alentejo Coast. In fact, this area has been recently considered by The Guardian as having the best beaches in Europe (an article worth reading): "Portugal’s Alentejo region is lined with glorious beaches – but not many people seem to know about them".
The setup is very romantic, with simple but pleasant decoration. The rooms are big enough for 2 people, the water is heated by solar panels. The back yard patio opens to the pool side. There are two swimming pools (in one of them the water is not treated, but kept clean by the vegetation), a few horses (they will come to you asking for food....), chickens, goats, and so forth.
Lena runs this place like a super-woman. Besides managing the place, she takes care of the reception and supervises the breakfast area for herself. Breakfast has quite a variety of locally-made items, including fruit jam, goat cheese, and honey. Plenty of food to start your day.
You'll find 2 wonderful beaches within a 10 minute drive - a very small but gorgeous Cavaleiro beach, and the wide open beach of Zambujeira do Mar. Another beach that is worth visiting is Almograve. There are also plenty of local restaurants in Zambujeira, two great ones half-way between Monte do Zeca and Zambujeira (6 min drive), several in the pedestrian area in the heart of this small village - seafood is the way to go here.

Near the Zambujeira do Mar village and it's great beaches, this Monte is one of the best options you'll have to spend a weekend or vacations.
The room was tidy and spacious. There was a TV and a mini-bar.
The bathroom was clean, and had all the basics.
Outside the room, through the back door, there was a porch with a hammock and a small table with two chairs. From there we could see the (small) pool and it's surroundings.
Then there were the breakfasts. Simply wonderful. The cake, the local bread, the orange juice...
If you still needed a reason to go to Alentejo... this is it.
