We are all about offering an eco luxury experience and a feeling of being at home or at a friend’s special place, we feel this is the secret to help guests truly relax. We invite guest to enjoy the simplicity of the beautiful surroundings of 20 acres/8 hectares of private land with breathtaking views. The mixture of stunning countryside and nearby beaches is a magical combination that help bring it to life. We have 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms (2 wooden bungalows on stilts, 5 suites and 3 double rooms) all individually decorated.
It’s hard to describe just how good this place is! It’s not just the perfectly appointed seating, plants, swimming pool and bar, it’s the views in every direction, the sunrise in the morning and the beautiful positioned yoga studio. Berny and Glen are the best hosts you could meet. Charming, full of positive energy, fascinating chat, and they go above and beyond to meet their guests every need! They were polite to all visitors and professional even when another guest was shall we say, tricky!
I could not recommend this place highly enough and I haven’t even started on the food!! I will post pictures as words can’t describe!!

This hotel is simply perfect. Owned and run by a dedicated couple. Every detail is precise and tasteful. Contemporary decor with beautiful eclectic furnishings. Berny and Glenn are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. The food, 100% vegetarian, is original and inspired using local organic ingredients. Location is remote with beautiful views but only 20 minutes from the best beaches and seafood restaurants. Every room is different. Some are in the main house and some in cabins and you should discuss your preferences when you book. Hotel quality is luxury and prices could be twice what they charge and still be good value. Really nothing to improve. A rare find.

We recently had a really lovely stay at Paraiso Escondido. We chose the hotel because of the pictures of the view and the proximity to lovely beaches. The view is indeed gorgeous but the hotel itself is also beautiful, spotlessly clean and with huge attention to detail on furnishings and decoration. The rooms are large, comfortable and lovely. The pool has a gorgeous view and is very is a very peaceful area. The breakfast was one of the nicest we’ve had in ages (with Berny bringing us a huge cafetière of coffee after we had mentioned how much we drank!). We had dinner at the hotel 3 times. The meals were really tasty (all vegetarian in keeping with the theme of sustainability). However, Berny knows everywhere and everyone in the area and for the other 2 nights recommended and booked us into lovely restaurants. Indeed Berny and Glen are fabulous hosts, happy to help in every way with recommendations for places to visit etc. They can also organise yoga, massages and other activities. The studio spot overlooking the valley was gorgeous. I had a massage with a lady called Margo after which I felt amazing. One day we just chilled by the pretty pool and relaxed. Finally the area is lovely, really stunning clean beaches and cute little towns. We didn’t go walking but I think there was lots of hiking available. All in all a really great stay - easily 5 stars! Thanks Berny and Glen and hope to see you again!

The setting is absolutely amazing, with stunning views across the countryside. Beautiful local beaches only 20mn away. The property is beautifully decorated in a relaxed style, with attention to every little detail. The food is wonderful prepared with home grown and locally sourced produce. The owners Berny and Glenn are wonderful hosts.
Paraiso Escondido is just the perfect place to unwind.

Whilst you can see how beautiful Paraiso Escondido is from the photos on their website, nothing prepares you for the reality of the views, the peace and quiet and the feeling of being somewhere very special. Berny and Glenn are the best hosts who do all they can to make sure their guests have everything they need and more. The food and service are great especially the breakfast which includes the best scrambled eggs you’ll ever eat!! There are also great beaches and restaurants nearby if you want to venture out. I can’t recommend it highly enough, It really is a wonderful place to chill and relax , I can’t wait to go back!

Paraiso Escondido is unlike any hotel or guest house you will ever visit. The unique location, perched on a hill, surrounded by eucalyptus trees and nestled in its own extensive grounds, is a place to savour, slow down and take in the breathtaking views.
But the magic isn’t just the location. It’s the warmth of the hospitality you receive from the owners Berny and Glenn, supported by the daughter Gisela. Many other reviews mention the family and its because from the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave, you feel like an honoured guest in their home. Always on hand with advice, from the right beaches to head for, to booking a table in a restaurant, nothing is too much trouble for your dedicated hosts.
And the accommodation itself is five star but without the frills of a big chain hotel. The bedrooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished with each room having a theme. The dining room is huge but homely and you never feel like anything is rushed. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful (you must try “Glenn’s eggs”) and dinner is offered on certain days - vegetarian only but this isn’t just a plate of veg. Berny creates incredible dishes that satisfy even the most dedicated meat eaters.
The pool area is peaceful, clean and a genuine retreat from the busyness that many of us have holidays to escape from.
Many guests return again and again. This review is written after our fifth visit.
Whether you’re looking for a retreat experience (Berny runs retreats) or simply a relaxing holiday away from the crowds in a stunning location, Paraiso Escondido will set the standard for every hotel you visit. We are yet to find another hotel in the uk or abroad that can live up to the welcome, hospitality and experience we have each time we visit Paraiso Escondido.

1/7 A hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the Alentejo coast.
Authentic, charming and beautifully decorated with lots of light. Every room has a different vibe and energy, it will be hard to choose which one you want, so you’re will have to go back!
We stayed in a beautiful bungalow on stilts with an incredible high view of the countryside.
Great organic food, great location if you are looking for nature, (be it the countryside or the beach) and of course the amazing hosts Berny and Glen … what’s not to like 🤍

Nothing can prepare you for the magical experience you feel when you arrive here. The stunning views, beautiful accommodation which is so tastefully decorated and the warmest welcome from Berny and Glenn - you really do feel like you’re in paradise. Devine breakfasts, a gorgeous swimming pool, I could go on and on about each and every wonderful part of this place but you have to come yourself to experience it and just relish being here in Berny and Glenns home and this little bit of paradise on earth.

Paraiso Escondido was an absolute delight. Berny , Glenn and the team run an exquisite holiday retreat offering a relaxed and enriching escape for visitors. The warm hospitality was genuine and embraced by all. Every detail is thought of, from scented aromas in communal areas to beach towels and baskets for trips to the beach. The food was outstanding and certainly convinced some of our group of the potential of vegetarianism as a choice rather than a loss! Their signature cocktail is now a firm favourite! The ambience is artistic and chilled, enhancing the relaxed atmosphere of home from home. Berny was also so helpful at signposting us to restaurants and beaches, all of which delivered. For those wanting an escape this is a perfect choice. We will definitely be back!

What a fantastic location for a Yoga Retreat. I did a buy out on the whole property and had two groups back to back. Every day with Berny, Glenn and their daughter Gisella was magic. They attended to every detail with love and care, from the design of the rooms, the preparation and presentation of the food, and the way they take care for the property itself. Loved the garden, the trails for walking, and especially the yoga studio. This is their home and they made us all feel so welcome. They were also able to help me find great things to do in the area so I could support the local community. They have a wonderful circle of like minded people in the area that all contributed to an incredible travel experience. I highly recommend Paraiso Escondido for a group or for individual travelers. Make sure you get up early one day to see the sunrise... its unforgettable!
