Detailed Reviews
I was one week at frupor country house with my big familiy and we rest a lot, we took refreshing baths in the morning in a wonderfull Lake, we heard the birds at the wineyards, we read our books in the beatifull garden with palmtrees and flowers! It was just what we needed. Country side in the morning, atlantic beaches and surf in the afternoon and grilled fisch and barbecue in the evening! and Off course, with a Alentejo's homemade wine! The personal was very helpful and competent. Thank you Ms Lucrecia and Ms Andrea for your good morning smiles with tasteful Odeceixe's Bread in the morning!

This hotel is part of a agricultural company. They produce Chinese leafs and baby carrots.
They have some houses spread over the farm that are really nice and cozy. It have a very nice garden I'm front of the house really well taken care. It is a dream house.
The houses ATF clean every day and breakfast is in the house in the "serve it your self" system means everything is in the fridge except the bread that arrives at 9:00.
It is already my 3rd stay here for vacations with the entire family (2 kids 5 and 2 years).
We love the small beach near by (Praia do Carvalhal) that is perfect for the kids.
I really recommend to choose Herdades da Frupor.

Located within the Sudoeste Alentejano Natural Park, Frupor has the Brejo Redondo farm with two rustic houses. This farm produces carrots, chinese cabbage and some ornamental flowers.
We've stayed at Casa da Palmeira, in a double room (no twin rooms available), the bathroom had heated floor system. Casa da Palmeira has a lounge with fireplace, TV, dining room and fully equipped kitchen. We went to S. Teotónio (9km) to the supermarket, buy some groceries and had our dinner in the house by the fireplace. The breakfast is simple, but made for you by the staff.
In the morning we've done a long walk from the farm to a fishing village (Azenha do Mar), along the coast filled with cliffs where storks were nesting towards Odeceixe's beach and return to the farm.

In the national park this casa do campo is a perfect place to stay.
Friendly staff, a nice common guest house for breakfast an a living room. Fantastic garden and a swimming pond. Rooms are spacious and clean. Sometimes during the day you hear some sounds from the farm, but never disturbing.
absolutely better then a great number of big hotels!

We were not planning to go to this area of Portugal, but we met someone at the airport that said we should. So we did.
We came for one night not knowing what we came for and ended up staying two night with a wish of staying even longer.
The calmness of this farm and the friendliness of the people working here makes this a place worth visiting.
We borrowed two bikes and went to the beach one day, and almost had the entire beach to our self. It's a nice bike ride away and also worth a look.
The farm also has a man made lake that we took a swim in. It's in the garden and right next to the house. Children friendly and not as cold as the ocean.
We recommend everyone to come to this place. Couple, friends and families. Lovely breakfast and beautiful rooms.

We stayed end of July 2013 for 4 days in Herdades da Frupor in the country house 800 m outside the main unit and the agricultural activity with some trucks driving around. It's not easy to find. From the N120 one must turn direction Brejão and then take the first left. This house is the newst one with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and in fact it's just next to the "Cerro da Fontinha" with about a dozen of houses spread in a small intersection. One of the bedrooms has an integrated bathroom, separated just by glas and it's very small inside. All the facilities are available for cooking in the kitchen. You have to prepare the breakfast by yourself as only bread, ham and cheese is delivered in the morning, quite late at about 10 o'clock must be said. Coffe, tea, jam and some fruit is already in the kitchen and even a bottle of red porto. Cleaning service is daily. No TV (yet) in the living. In the main unit there is a nice garden with a small lake (reserve for watering) where I took a small swim. As is is an isolated place, one must have a car to visit the surroundings. We liked a lot the beach of Carvalhal. It's like Zambujeira do Mar but smaller. In Azenhas do Mar there is a good (and crowdy) fish restaurant but also in Brejão in the main road there is a very good one, belonging to the "Café Cental" I think. We went to the main village Sao Teotonio mainly for shopping in the Supermaket to fill the fridge.

+1
We stayed at Herdades da Frupor during July and we had an amazing time. We stayed in one of the detached villas and the location within the development was beautiful overlooking the vineyards. The development is very close to Carvalhal beach at a short drive and also the fisherman village of "Azenha do Mar" which has one of the best and cheapest seafood restaurants around - unfortunately there is no booking so you need to turn up and wait for a seat and this can mean hours so prob best if you do it on a weekday. There are also some great nearby restaurants just up the road and loads of beaches to choose from at short drives.
The villa itself was great, very stylish and well equipped and we really liked the fact that someone came to clean everyday while we were away. Since we were staying in one of the detached houses the breakfast was left at the door and we had to prepare it ourselves but it was great to actually be on our own overlooking the fields while eating breakfast.
The only couple of things we'd note is that we didn't have a TV in our house which felt a bit of a oversight and it would've been just that more awesome if there was a pool by the house as the lake was miles away and didn't really looked appropriate for swimming when we visited. All in all it's a beautiful place and the staff were all very friendly, we'd recommend this place any time.
