Monte da Galrixa is located near São Teotónio, a small village overlooking the ocean. It is only 7 kms from the nearest beach, Zambujeira do Mar, a typical fisher village. From here, numerous beaches, both to the north and south, are just a stones throw away e.g. Alteirinhos, Carvalhal, Odeceixe and Almograve.

Me and my wife went for a week and really liked the place. It’s clean, cosy, you can enjoy and relax around the pool but also take a walk to see the animals of the farm. Though we do not have kids, it’s a nice place to bring them. A lot of green area for them to run and play. The breakfast is good and all the appliances and internet work very well. We recommend.

If someone is looking for quiet, peace, nature and sunny days along the swimming pool, this is the place!
The days can be spent relaxing by the pool and walking in the nature. The rooms are clean and very cosy. The staff is always very friendly.
What a spectacular experience to repeat!

I stayed here for some holidays with the family. It's a very large property with four buildings, one is the owner's, two are for eight one bedroom apartments and one is for five individual rooms. They try to follow the architecture of the region, although inside it's a bit of a mix between southern Portugal and italian tiles. Bit of an eclectic mix on decoration. The room is fairly small but with a large wardrobe. The living room is huge and shared with an almost fully fitted kitchen: microwave with grill, stove, large refrigerator with freezer, toaster, kettle, and coffee drip machine… no washing machine or dishwasher though. They provide washcloths, dishwashing liquid and salt. There's also a large selection of dishware and cooking utensils. They provide a small basket with 4 teabags, 4 sugars and a plastic container with ground coffee - this is all you get as there are no refills no matter how long you stay there. There was no AC, but the apartments are well insulated and the ceilings very tall so that wasn't much of an issue. Every morning there's fresh local bread dropped on your doorstep, still warm. This was really lovely. TV was more of an afterthought. The living room is fitted with a flat panel screen but 80% of the time most channels don't work, so that makes for a few tedious nights. The property offers a decent sized swimming pool with salt water. There's also large meeting room next to it with a foosball table, a large TV screen, espresso maker and a fridge where you can buy some sodas. There's also a lake inside the property with paddle boats and you can lend some bicycles in a variety of sizes (however they're poorly maintained). You can also visit the animal range with rabbits, chickens, ducks, dogs and geese. There are ample lawns to play ball and overall things are kept in mint condition. The place is a bit isolated and hard to find but S. Teotonio is less than a mile away and provides all the amenities you'll need, including a large supermarket with international merchandise. The beach of Zambujeira do Mar is about 6km away, so it's very close, but there's very limited parking there so we went to Carvalhal beach, about 4km south which provides ample parking and a decent beach bar.

After an amazing experience in 2011, we decided to come back for more so our expectations were high. This time we chose to include the breakfast and I just can tell you that was the best decision we took. Not a fancy and elaborated breakfast resort-style. A traditional Portuguese breakfast with the best regional products from Alentejo: Cheeses, jams, juices, excellent fruits and bread.
4 Amazing days we spent!
Next year I'll be there again!

Located near to some of the most beautiful beaches we have seen. The apartment was well equipped and the grounds were very nice. The nice owner and staff made it a really nice stay. When you like a quiet holiday in a beautiful environment you should book this. You will need a car to get around, but it is definitely worth it.

A true Alentejo experience with everything that is expected, very calm and relaxing, far away from the civilization (but not that far), great pool, excellent breakfast, animals, trees and very nice employees. Nearby you have access to supermarkets, restaurants and amazing beaches. I fully recommend and most probably will be back in the near future.

Peaceful monte Alentejano, great staff that treats you like family, great swmiming pool, ideal for families with small children. Nearby Zambujeira do Mar and other nice spots. Visiting Cabo Sardão is a must.

Fabulous experience! Quiet and beautiful, very friendly welcoming by the owner and staff, delicious breakfast. The farm has animals we can visit and a fabulous salt water pool. The grounds are beautifully cared for, perfect location.

Just loved it. Went with my little 4yo son and he had a great time, too. Staff, food (you have to try the fruits!!!) rooms and facilities are the best.
