Detailed Reviews
Serene, peaceful, within wonderful nature and with very charming and hospitable hosts, this country side hotel/B&B is just as you would dream of. Has a huge garden and a small swimming pool. Perfect for nature lovers. Onsite dinners are delicious, prepared by a real chef with local ingredients. I cannot recommend this place enough. Just perfect.

We truly enjoyed our weeklong stay at Verdemar. Thanks to the genuine hospitality of Christine and Nuno this was a real vacation. There are not so many places where you can so easily feel at home as at Verdemar. Everything contributed to this feeling: the room in the garden, waking up to the sound of birds, the breakfast in the veranda, the genuine/real conversations we had, the help in organising our walks every day, the excellent dinners prepared by Nuno, and after dinner drinks at the wood stove with good music... sad to leave, looking forward to coming back

A short week stay but already willing to come back. Excellent space where we were able to relax and rest.
The owners do provide everything to make the stay something special. And all the personnel is attentive and extra helpful.
Do take your time to enjoy the dinners. I was amazed every day by the exceptional quality of the daily choice made by the Chef (the owner and son)

We stayed here four nights during a group tour of the Alentejo Coast. The hotel is made up of a series of small buildings with one or more ensuite rooms in each; ours was a duplex. The bathrooms were spacious, the bedroom was large and comfortable and there was a deck area to sit with a small table if we wished. There is a nice, clean pool. We ate breakfasts and dinners here and the food was excellent.

Lovely place, great value. Friendly couple as mentioned in the other reviews and all details on their website are accurate. Stronger reading lights in the room would be my only suggestion - I needed to use the flashlight on my phone.

Would return in an instant. Was a last minute find on Trip Advisor (thank you, user community!) and value for money was unbeatable. Owners were gracious and warm, meals were fabulous, grounds and property were gorgeous ... overall an extremely relaxing weekend to explore the oft-forgotten Portuguese coast after a week in urban Lisbon. Great memories, helped by this beautiful stay.

This rural touristico is off the beaten track, so although you can cycle in the area to make the most of your time here you need a car. We spent 3 nights here, doing cycle routes each day and using the car mid afternoon to investigate coastal areas. The cycle routes are quite short, between 23-40km; a mixture of quiet country roads and sandy tracks. The routes are suitable for a confident child cyclist too, we had a 10 year old with us. You get to see some nice scenery and appreciate a non-touristy part of Portugal. Breakfast and dinner here is great. Both are served in a cosy conservatory, warmed by a log fire at the end of the season (late October). Our room, 5, was plenty big enough for the 3 of us. There is a decent size pool that would be great for a dip on hotter days. Christina is able to organise a 3 centre, 1 week cycle trip (much cheaper to book direct with her than use an expensive tour company.)

This isn't so much a hotel as a group of delightful little houses set in a dip in the rolling Alantejo hills. It's expertly run by Christine and Nuno Vilas Boas. Christine is Dutch, Nuno is Portuguese and both have a talent for making guests feel not only welcome but almost a part of the family. The rooms are scattered amidst productive orchards and wonderful fresh fruit almost drops into your hand. Each "house" is decorated and designed by Christine and the tone of the rooms reflect the colours in the paintings of the multi-talented Nuno. Meals are taken in the main house at a long communal table - not great if you want a private meal - marvellous if you enjoy meeting people and a good natter. The dinnertime conversation is encouraged by the liberal (included in the price) supply of excellent local wine that complements Nuno's fine and creative food. There's a swimming pool in the grounds, an ever open honesty bar and a real air of unforced tranquility. A marvellous place to really unwind.

We spent a couple of days and we could stay much longer.
The place is amazing if you enjoy staying in the middle of nature. No noise and many stars in the sky at night.
We stayed in the “Green House”. It’s cozy and small with everything you need also to prepare meals. There’s a nice balcony outside to enjoy the stars.
Excellent hospitality. The breakfast served at the house is great and we also had dinner one time prepared by the hosts. Also great.
The place is in the middle of nowhere but just 10 minutes away from local town and 20 minutes from great beaches.
5 points and we will for sure come back one day!

We were here with a large group of friends. For us the first time. But many of our friends allready come here for many years. The owners create a heaven of peace. All the houses and rooms are spread out, so you have a lot of privacy. It is not luxe, but everything you need is there, lovely dinners.
A lot of playground for the kids, and they have their our dinner before the adults, super !!
A big swimming pool with sunbeds and a lot of nice spota to relax.
We loved it, thanks Nounou and Christine
