The Last Word in Constantia is a haven for people like us who want to have a getaway break from Johannesburg and even out of the CT city area. The people are absolutely wonderful. Happy, kind, caring nothing is too much trouble. The suite (number 4) is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The minibar and coffee and tea station has all that you need. The turn down treats are a lovely treat. Only one quibble and that’s there should be either more solar installed or the electrical wiring to be adapted (a small job) to make sure the plugs feeding the TV and DSTV operate. Otherwise a memorable stay and we will be back.

We had a lovely stay here as we finished our touring holiday in South Africa. The welcome was warm , the accommodation spacious and beautifully presented. The gardens are beautifully maintained with both a pool area and a grassy area with. seating. Breakfasts were superb with a lovely fruit platter,a choice of fresh breads, croissants and juices. These are followed by a wide range of cooked meals. The hotel provides lovely wines and each night there is a tasty treat in one’s pillow. Tess, the manager was really helpful and we were also well looked after by Gray. We would like to visit this lovely hotel again.

A good surprise. What a fabulous stay here. The staff are fantastic led by Tessa who was so helpful and welcoming. Samantha for breakfast also set us up for the day. The room was really comfortable with a great power shower. It was like staying with family. Breakfast was fantastic and nothing was too much, yet how refreshing to have it included. I wish all hotels did this. But so pleased we stayed here it’s a real gem

I have travelled extensively in the Western Cape area this hotel is the best place I have ever stayed. The family room really exceeded my expectations and I was shocked at how much they consider so much about our children's needs. The room was massive with a separate 'play lounge 'for the children off the main bedroom area. It was literally a beautiful space kitted out with TV, massive been bags, games console, toys, books and a separate TV. There was a kings size bed in the main bedroom with TV and then a separate twin room with a TV and large dressing room. Two large bathrooms with large walk in showers and deep baths with two separate toilets. Also all their products were from Healing Earth so they are really considering the environment whilst still keeping it 5 star and luxurious. The fridge in the room was fully stocked and the bar area down stairs had every drink you could think of so we were spoilt for choice. The swimming pool was large with lots of floats and sunbeds and the garden was a oasis of trees and beautiful flowers. After a 14 hour flight from the States we arrived at Last Word Constantia to find this incredible tropical oasis with the absolute nicest staff. You just feel so comfortable and welcome here. The rooms were clean and spacious and all of the staff seemed to really enjoy being there. In particular, Tess was just so nice and helpful. Every day she would come to our breakfast table , checking in to see what we might want arranged that day. For our local transportation needs, Tess arranged Pierre as our driver - what a character! Being a Constantia native, he kept us spellbound with fascinating stories about South Africa as he whisked us from place to place. Although many resorts might have wonderful facilities, it's the people that make any trip special and all of the people we interacted with at Last Word Constantia were phenomenal !…

Wow - what a special start to our South Africa Honeymoon. A truly beautiful hotel and room, only exceeded by the wonderful staff that did everything and more for us during our stay. Super stay at The last Word. Quite, tranquil, beautiful large room, with a stunning view of mountain and gardens. Had a great morning walk in the fields close by, while feeling very safe.The breakfast in the garden was great. Tess and her staff was outstanding and very friendly. Will be back.

We had a heartly welcome and really enjoyed our stay. The room is spacious with nice underfloor heating for the cold night. The private pool looked amazing but it was to cold to swim. They say first impression last but here it was the last impression and that was breakfast. My goodness what a rip off. Its totally overpriced. We left and went to the number one rated place on Tripadvisor at a 5 star wine estate and had an amazing breakfast for a 1/4 of the price, with MCC and a nice view.

From the moment you walk into the Reception of this fine boutique hotel you are overwhelmed by its opulence and elegance. Tastefully furnished, the lounge and adjacent breakfast area beckon you to relax. An honour bar provides most alcoholic beverages and the breakfast menu is superb. Rooms are spacious, clean and bright and if you’re lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite, as we were through iPrefer Rewards membership, then they are sublime. Don’t miss out on a stay here when you’re next in Cape Town, we certainly won’t.
