Great stay at the camp inside the park, made access to the park in the early morning very fast, accomodation a were fantastic especially the outdoor showers, very unique. Staff were excellent and the meals were very delicious. The park itself was amazing and an unforgettable experience
The place is as advertised, tents in the park! It had good atmosphere as much as some days were fully booked, we didn't feel like everyone is on top of each other. There was aplenty of space for everyone. Can you hear your neighbors in the tents next door? Of course it's a tent and that is expected. Beautiful, clean and the food was good. All in all it was a good holiday for us. Group of 14 ages between 2 and 67!
Considering it is camping, the accom is adequate. Light sleepers will not get any sleep as you can hear a train passing during the night and your neighbors - even when they are leaving for an early morning game drive. One has to be at breakfast 5.15-5.30 am in order to eat before the morning drive as no tea/coffee or snacks are provided and the drive is 6 hours long. We found that unreasonable and did not go on any of our morning game drives as neither I nor my 9 year old Grandson would have lasted that long. Yes, they did say they would stop along the way for us to buy ourselves something to eat but quite honestly offering us muffins or scones or a brekkie bun would have gone a long way. We went on one sunset drive and as the driver wasn’t nearly as good as all others we have been on we decided to forgo that as well as it was a waste of time. Of all the Kruger drives we have been on this was the worst. You are better off doing your own drive. If u want a comfortable camping experience, and are a heavy sleeper then this may be for u but was certainly not for us. The food was very basic but enjoyable enough although every night the pudding was burnt and the custard lumpy. The pool area and staff service was very good. …
We greatly enjoyed the charm of Nkambeni Safari Lodge whilst in Kruger National Park. The rooms are glamping cabins with wooden floors, two wooden walls, two canvas walls, and a canvas roof. Air conditioning units were wonderful. Bathroom attached with all indoor amenities plus outdoor showers for those inclined. Good food with many choices served buffet-style. Lovely lodge with many places to hang out with friends after the safari. Hippos visit the river behind the lodge each night. Magical to see.
Stayed here as part of a tour for 3 nights. Good location in the park. Camp is a bit on the rustic side. Food was abundant but only ok. Staff was could use some customer service training. Pool was under construction and only above ground pools were available which was disappointing.
The person at reception didn't smile once. This is our first impression. They didn't have water or drinks for us (group of 29 people) & they said because they had a busy week & ran out. That's not my problem. I had to go find the manager to ask him to resolve the issue which he did a little by getting my people each a bottle of water but that's not the norm. Usually you are asked what you want to drink. coke, sprite, stoney, water, beer, etc... and you have a cooler & you can drink at your leisure. Usually on safari you stop for sunset & have drinks & billtong. We didn't. Usually for sunrise you stop for coffee & hot chocolate & biscuits. We did not. Coming back from safari there was no one greeting us & telling us where dinner was being held. We had to walk around & figure it out. We were told safari was from 6-9am. Also breakfast was 5:30-9am. So we could not have breakfast unless we ate at 5:30am. I had to fight for them to stay open 30 minutes till 9:30am so my team could have breakfast comfortably. Breakfast after safari is the norm at every single other safari. During safari - the radios in the jeeps didn't work. So we wasted time finding the other jeeps & trying to communicate with them. The whole place shuts down at 10pm. You can't order a drink or anything. I just wish they were a little more vocal about the times. We would have ordered everything before they shut down. Positives : Safari was amazing. We saw everything. Our guides were amazing. Rooms were good. Accounting was awesome & super nice & had great customer service. The reception needs to learn from them. Food was good. Dinner & Breakfast. …
I loved the place, perfect for relaxing. Staff was friendly and it felt safe. Waking up to the sound of the beds was just amazing 🤩. Rooms were clean and outdoor space was perfect and private. Outstanding 🤩
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a large group. The location is ideal for Kruger park and you can see hippos, buffaloes and elephants around the watering hole right opposite the restaurant. This meant we didn’t feel like we missed out one day when we decided not to go for a game drive. There are also loads of bird life on the lodge grounds. The buffet dinner is good with something for everyone. The tents have all the necessary amenities including heating for those cold nights/mornings.
This place has about 160 canvas tents very close to each other. You can literally hear the person in the next tent snore etc. They can take about 300 people at a time! They do have a lovely pool with a view into the Kruger park. The food is buffet style and good. This is very close to Numbi gate so easy to get into Kruger. There is a train that passes in the night. Literally 100m from the "lodge". A diesel train that wakes the world. The road to the lodge goes through the local township and there have been some attacks on tourists.
Staff was very hospitable and always eager to help, the pool was amazing and it's a lovely break away from the city. Went there for my birthday celebration and staff had set up the room beautifully with petals everywhere & some champagne
