A Greater Kruger Safari Haven From the moment you arrive at Bundox Safari Lodge you can feel the outside world become more distant and muted. Perhaps it’s the breeze moving in the branches of the tall, riparian trees that surround you, or the birdsong that fills the air. Maybe it’s the sound of Africa welcoming you to a place where time has no meaning… On its own private sanctuary on the edge of the Greater Kruger National Park, pathways wind through the forest over low bridges, revealing verdant glades and secret nooks that beg you to stay awhile and watch the endless dance of light and shade as the sunlight is dappled through a million leaves. Blending perfectly into this tranquil environment the lodge reveals itself at every turn, spread out on either side of a small, seasonal stream. Antelope and other wildlife species move silently through this haven, sharing their space if only for a brief moment. Sparkling swimming pools offer respite from the African sun and shady nooks and crannies provide intimate interludes in the wild tapestry that surrounds them. Sit back, relax, switch off and unwind. Is this heaven? We think so! Luxe Safari Tents: Four beautiful canvas suites with twin beds, wooden floors and flowing, open decks overlooking the surrounding bush. Each has its own en-suite bathroom with an indoor shower, toilet, basin and complimentary amenities. There is also a tea and coffee station, hanging space for clothing and a standing fan in each tent. Safari Tents: Two spacious Meru-style canvas suites with twin beds, wooden floors and open decks, each with its own en-suite bathroom with an indoor bathtub, outdoor shower, toilet, basin and complimentary amenities. A tea and coffee station, standing fan, hanging space for clothing and private boma area complete the facilities on offer. Superior Tent: A stunning tented suite with a fabulous king-size bed, its own private bathroom with an outside shower, wonderful bathtub, his and her basins and the most beautiful deck overlooking the bush featuring a separate, intimate sala with a comfortable day bed. Complete with a tea and coffee station, standing fan and hanging space for clothing. Buffalo Chalet: A two-bedroom offering for families that includes two self-standing rooms with a shared boma area. One room has a king-size bed and a day bed, the other has twin beds. Each has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, single basin and complimentary amenities as well as a tea and coffee station, standing fan and hanging space for clothing. Rhino Tented Suite: A new light and airy canvas-infused chalet with a wonderful king-sized bed, lots of space and its own outdoor bathroom with a wonderful bathtub and separate shower. With his and hers basins and lots of gorgeous deck space as well as an intimate sala with an inviting day bed and private boma, there is also a tea and coffee station, standing fan and hanging space for clothing.

Our first trip to South Africa on safari and what a place Bundox Safari Lodge is. Beautiful surroundings and accommodation way above what he expected for a tented lodge. The facilities including the tent, bar, dining area, pool and camp fire area were all spotless and well maintained. Staff were excellent and attentive. I expected bar prices to be high where you have a captive audience, but far from it very very reasonable. Had the pleasure of speaking to the new manager round the camp fire who has some new ideas to improve facilities, not that needs much as very impressed with the set up. Great value and service and highly recommend. Michael and Gwen

The lodge is beautiful, with lovely paths leading through the bush.
Open eating, bar and lounge areas to take in the atmosphere.
Great tent villas which were more like cabins than tents.
On our fist night there was a great storm that knocked out the power. The staff were great. They ensured we stayed as try as possible and provided portable lights and umbrellas to assist us at returning to our rooms after dinner.
The lodge accommodated small groups cycling through the activities so we got to meet a lot of other people and listen to recommendations for our free day.
I really loved it there and would love to go back.

This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life! Everything about this trip exceeded my expectations. It was truly incredible and I didn't want to leave.
The camp is a perfect combination of rugged and beautiful- the safari tents have lovely thoughtful touches like chocolates on your pillow that make you feel like you're in a high end hotel while at the same time all the fun of glamping (with hot outdoor showers!) Hearing the lions roaring just a few hundred metres away while you sleep is really something.
The shared areas are also very thoughtfully designed with nice places to sit and viewing decks up in the canopy looking over the reserve where you can spot eagles, impala, warthogs and giraffe. The vervet monkeys and bush babies also like hanging out in camp so wildlife spotting is easy!
The food was really tasty. I didn't have high expectations but the every meal was delicious and freshly prepared with a great variety. The packed lunches and breakfasts were really generous too.
Now for my favourite part: the staff. I've never stayed anywhere before where I felt like I was being welcomed into a family. We felt so at home and they really foster and atmosphere of everyone getting to know each other. By night two all the guest and staff were chatting by the fire like old friends.
A special mention for Japie who made our stay so excpetional. My partner and I got engaged earlier in our trip to South Africa and after we told him he arranged for a surprise special dinner with decorations and fairy lights! It was an unforgettable evening and made us feel so special. He was so friendly and approachable throughout the trip and we really enjoyed getting to know him and sharing our stories. His ranger knowledge and experience is truly impressive! We were genuinely sad to say goodbye it felt like leaving a friend.
We also had a great time with Emmanuel, Evidence, Rose (amazing massages!) and Werner who were so much fun and always went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good time. When we got caught in a thunder storm they welcomed us into their staff kitchen to escape the tempest and ran out into the rain to get umbrellas and torches for everyone.
Of course everyone comes to these places for the animals and the safari drives were unforgettable. We saw the Big 5 and loads of other animals and birds-I counted over 50 different species by the end of our 4 day trip.
I can't recommend Bundox highly enough. It was absolutely phenomenal.

Wonderful mini vacay! The place is so peaceful and the staff are amazing. We did a morning bush walk which was very refreshing. Had a midday picnic which was super chilled and ended the day with an awesome massage at the spa. The best part of the stay was definitely our morning breakfasts on the sunny viewing deck and evening dinners by the cozy bonfire. Also just need to mention how delicious all the food was (Compliments to the chef) and staff are fantastic people. They take personalised care and attention to detail for all their guests. Definitely worth a visit or two 😊. Thanks Bundox Team.

From the moment our transfer arrived to take us to Bundox to the moment we said goodbye, the service was incredible. The staff are the most polite, friendly and helpful people who were happy to assist with any requests throughout the booking progress and during our stay (even down to find us a travel adaptor as ours did not work)
The food every day was amazing and as was the spa which were were lucky enough to also visit. As well as this, all of the facilities, dining area and lookout area were beautiful and it was great place to relax and take in the surroundings.
The game drives were organised so well and exceeded my expectations! The staff and game drivers were fantastic and it really showed that they wanted to make our time and experience special. One of our game drives over ran and even though we should have already been heading back, the game driver was willing to turn around and drive back after seeing my favourite animals in the distance. Our game drives were also very personal with only 1 or 2 other people with us, we really felt like they cared about our experience and was most definitely not just a number to them.
Being able to spend my 21st birthday at the lodge was amazing and every single member of staff made my day great! Every single person wished me happy birthday and even made me my own cake! I also saw the most amazing things on our game drive that day and for all of this I cannot thank them enough!
The atmosphere in the lodge was lovely and with so little guests, it gives you a great chance to talk about your experiences with them and for the staff to share their experiences with you too! Each staff member really showed great interest in what we had seen that day and wanted to talk to us about it.
I am so glad that we chose to stay at Bundox and I will be recommending it to all of our friends and families so that they can have the experience that we have! I hope we will be lucky enough to visit again!

Bundox safari lodge is situated in the greater Kruger region. The picture perfect wooden walkways, luxury tents and chalets that is individually posistioned amongst the vegetation, creates a true feeling of serenity in the African bush. Various birds and small game animals can be spotted amongst the trees and bush on your way to the boma, spa or swimming pool. Ideal base for your selfdrive adventure in South Africa's most visited wildlife region. They offer a big 5 game drive a short 45 minute drive to the Baluale Game Reserve.

We recently visited Bundox Explorer camp, And was greatly impressed, from our arrival at this Amazing rustic camp, we were treated like royalty by all the staff. The accommodation was absolutely wonderful and we wanted for nothing. The food prepared by the chef was of the highest quality and the presentation of each meal was just perfect. The stainless steel mugs and wineglasses etc made each meal an experience befitting the amazing rustic character of the camp. The food was excuisit and we could not ask for any better!!!
The trackers /field guides was professional and very knowledgeable, it was a absolute pleasure to be guided and entertained by them. The knowledge and experience of Japie, the ranger/manager is absolutely amazing, he's professionalism, friendliness and absolute understanding made it a pleasure and a privilege to be guests at this amazing camp.
We would recommend this camp without any reservations.

We stayed at Bundox for about four days, and had a wonderful time. The lodge was lovely - the grounds are very green and it's so delightful to see small deer and lizards wandering around. It's the first time I've had to keep my door closed to keep monkeys out!
The staff were wonderful, and really went above and beyond when a huge storm took the power out as dinner was being served one evening.
The Day/Morning/Evening safari trips to the nearby Jejane Private Game Reserve were amazing - we saw all the "Big 5" animals, and had a really spectacular experience. Our guide Jarpie was really knowledgeable, and tailored our visit to help us find the animals we wanted to see.
Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Bundox was an amazing place to stay. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming. What was noticeable is that Tanya and her staff are very happy and you get the feeling that they really love what they do. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a fantastic time on the evening animal drive with Cullen and it was so exciting we did not even get around to eating the snacks and having our glass of wine that we had taken with us! The accommodation at Bundox is comfortable and well equipped. Staff handled load shedding well, ensuring that we were safe and knew what time the lights were going out. The food was delicious and the pack ups for breakfast (when we were at Kruger) were just what was needed to start the day. Bundox also has the benefit of a spa which is well worth a visit. I had a full body massage which was very relaxing and great for getting rid of aches and pains. Our driver John, who took us on the day drives to Kruger, ensured that we saw as many animals as possible by being in close contact with other drivers in the area. We had two fabulous days with him and even got to see leopards which we did not expect as they are so elusive.

I stayed at Bundox Safari Lodge over Christmas and my stay was perfect in every way! Tanya, the resort manager is amazing, she was there to greet me, showed me around and then over the next few days brought a glass of wine at just the right time as well as booking additional activities I wanted and checking to see my stay was going well.
My ‘tent’ was wonderful, a large canvas room with en-suite outdoor bath & shower. All decorated in a rustic way that was very in tune with the natural surroundings and perfectly finished.
The whole resort is very in tune with nature and a wonderful place to be. To me, it’s as much about the feel and atmosphere as the facilities and here it was spot on. They’ve thought of everything and go out of their way to make their guests’ stay special.
There are two swimming pools in the resort, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The bar area is lovely and has wifi, the only place it’s available which I’m very on board with. Tanya explained they like people to switch off when they’re here as much as possible, and it worked really well in keeping me and the other guests relaxed during our stay, chatting with other lovely guests with the ability to catch up on urgent comms in between safari, dinner and relaxing!
The restaurant is in a lovely setting with a fire pit and the food is incredible – dinner is 3 courses of delicious home made food, really inventive and beautifully presented. It’s hard to get the balance right with a set menu and they’ve achieved it here. The staff couldn’t be lovelier, always friendly, welcoming and helpful. They genuinely care how your day has been and if you’ve enjoyed your meal.
Staying here was like a big relaxing hug from the minute I arrived to the minute I left. It far surpassed my expectations and really made my holiday. I didn’t have to worry about anything, it was all taken care of, I love that! I was already recommending it to family & friends while I was still there.
Highly, highly recommend, with my thanks to the amazing staff for everything they did for me. This holiday is something that will stay close to my heart forever.
