The property is great, I had a lovely stay. The room could've been a bit cleaner though, but it was still comfortable and looked lovely. Loved the decor and vibe and the hotel manager went out of his way to make sure my stay was pleasant. Overall, great stay. Will be going back again.

The team at Goble Palms was extremely accommodating in giving my wife a bedroom opposite ours to work from during our 4 night stay. Staff were very helpful and offered my wife coffee and lunch during our stay. Breakfast was a typical English breakfast, my best. The room was well-appointed with a shower and bath. Filter coffee in the rooms is sadly lacking. Parking was a squeeze, but well-managed by the staff.

I have been twice in this guesthouse and I liked it. The price (50USD/night) was about right, and the breakfast was really good actually, they have some selection of fuits and crossiants and then they also have some complimentary table English breakfast which I liked, but it can have one star more if they deliver the breakfast to say lets say 1300h for connivence and luxury. The pool is quite small so if your idea is to go Durban for just the pool, then perhaps not, but its really great as they do allow swimming after dark till 22h and also the full place looks like a majestic place, feels like a imperial guesthouse which perhaps needs some refurbishments here and there, also has some middle eastern/morocco feel which makes it cute. The staff is very friendly too, The neighbhood is quite safe actually although I wouldn’t walk there at night but during the day its fine actually, and you can uber everything in Durban too. When it comes to the improvements, well there is load shedding which means that electricity is not guaranteed, so you should be aware of that and the hotel might communicate this better when entering the room (for example with an card, of this is when we expect load shedding). Would stay here again.

This charming place has so much to offer. If you are tired of the cookie cutter style at hotels, this place is a must visit. Has a villa feel when relaxing in the many common spaces. The decor is colonial. Not a fan of the amount of mosquitos anf geckos outside your room. Breakfast was ok, nothing to rave about. This retreat is not wheelchair friendly, it has alot of stairs. The quality of the sheets in the bedroom was good, just not the quality of the bed.

Staff quite friendly and helpful. Loads of mosquitoes with no repellent in rooms. Good breakfast except staff don’t take orders correctly. Parking was available and late arrival was arranged and went smoothly.
