My organisation hosted an event at the Emakosini hotel yesterday. We booked for 50 people. The service was horrid. There was only one waitress for the 50 people. They were disorganized. When we arrived for our function at 10am nothing was set up. We had to eat our lunch at our work station. There was no space to eat in the dining room because they booked another functioning that space. This made it impossible for us to set up for our hands on program which we supposed to have done after lunch. And another event was booked at the same time making an already congested area tighter. The other group was noisy and parked our guests in . There were flies all over . We were so scared to eat the food since the flies were sitting on every thing. We booked 2 teas and lunch. They served tea and coffee with 1 plate of stale biscuits and they ran out of milk. They ran out of mutton curry and some of our guests didn't get food. Absolutely terrible service. The floors were dirty and terrible. I am still in shock . There was only 2 toilets servicing almost 100 people. The were long lines to use the toilets.

I attended a booked catered function with someone. We were there 17h30 for mingling and drinks. There was 1 waitron there who tried serving behind the bar and kept saying she wasn't the bar-lady. There was no change for Cash paying clients. During the dinner the warmers for the food had not been lit therefore the food was cold on serving (nothing worse than roast beef and potatoes served cold without gravy). Total shortage of staff to serve the room of about 40 pax. I would be very hesitant to book this venue.

I found it very flexible and versatile in the sense that it can host a business meeting for drinks or dinner and it can also be an agreeable getaway when traveling with a partner.Tranquil setting,a hidden gem in the middle of Morningside and the pool side view is a petit mort.It can do better with a little Feng Shui in the rooms but there is no better establishment in that price range. There is a sense of joie de vivre amongst the staff. Its altogether wholesome

I am somewhat of a regular, and the place always has that homey feel and even though a bit old the rooms are always clean and comfortable, the staff is always friendly and courteous, during my last visit we hosted a function with friends and we had a great time.
