Late booking and was able to obtain a room. It had a shared bathroom which was not mentioned when booking made, but considering the price paid, this gripe is in "lower case" especially as the other room to share the bathroom was not occupied so in fact had it exclusively. Adequate tea and coffee provided, but this establishment ( like most others) believe that they should only provide enough sugar for 2 cups of whatever beverage is poured - although. coffee and tea provided was sufficient for 6 cups. However with that behind us, the room was clean and sufficiently comfortably furnished and the bathroom was clean. Generous soaps and accessories provided. Breakfast was as stated. surprised there was no fried onion or tomato or any other provided other than the bacon sausage and egg. But freshly made and adequate cereals etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful, both on check in and the morning after. If need be we will stay again.

We booked and paid for the whole guesthouse (11 rooms), only got 9 rooms. Not sufficient equipment in the kitchen to cook a proper meal and only 1 fridge in stead of the promised 2. They are definitely not group orientated! The staff however are very friendly and helpful!! The owners would have gotten back to us on suggestions we had, we never saw them again in the week we stayed there - very unprofessional in my opinion.

Conveniently situated relatively close to the city center and beach front - it took us 9 minutes to get to Olive Convention Center at 07:30 in the morning. The rooms are neat and comfortable with air conditioning. Two tap handles were problematic and were only fixed by the third day. The electric gate was fixed daily by the in house handy man but never actually worked when we needed it. The pictures on the internet show a lovely rocky garden with a swimming pool. I saw some rocks but to get to the pool meant a walk out the broken gate to another house which seemed to be part of the same venue. Parking was available behind the same gate but is rather limited and tricky as is common for this part of Durban. Breakfast is good but it seems if you have the convenience of the on site pool, you have to sacrifice your on site breakfast and shuttle to this site. The manager was very apologetic and helpful.

My recent stay at the guest house started a bit rough as there was nobody to receive me for check-in at 14:30 even though it was clearly stated that check-in was from 14:00 to 20:00. From initial impressions I was actually considering booking at a different place on my own account. After getting hold of the management staff and checking in things settled down a bit. The lady running the house was very friendly but the place can do with some TLC on the outside as well as inside the rooms. The broken automated gate also doesn't contribute to feelings of comfort and safety. The main house lounge and dining areas are neat, tidy and cozy.

Spending some time at Flintstones guest house was great. The lady who checked us in was very courteous and welcoming, i believe her name was Patricia. The guest house is actually quite lovely, the ambiance is just wow. The cost is inclusive of breakfast (a great one) and you get to choose what you will have even as early as when you check in. Wifi is free but just for the first hour, then there after you pay R20 (or there about) per hour. The parking is also ample for guest but guests should be mindful of other guests who might want to leave early so as not to block their vehicles. We stayed at the upstairs room, which had a balcony. The rooms are carpeted and quite clean. The bathroom is also quite big and clean with hot water (solar heated). There's also satelite tv in every room, coffee making facilities and also air conditioning. To anyone planning on visiting durban and looking for a quiet place to stay i would reccomend Flintstones guest house.
