This was a pleasant stay. Rooms a bit run down and aircon not working, also had no kettle, but spent most of our time in the pool which was lovely. Staff very friendly. All in all a good experience...
I have now stayed at this boutique hotel a number of times and it is my "go-to" place when I travel to Durban. The staff are extremely welcoming and exceptionally friendly. The rooms are well kept and have everything that I need for my regular one and two night stays in the area. Covid has obviously taken its toll but every effort is being made to recover and to ensure that the guests' needs are met. I am very impressed with this B+B and I will always return.
First of all there was no breakfast and the man in charge knew nothing of what was going on. Secondly the steps leading up to the rooms, which are tiles, were wet from people not drying off after swimming. The pictures on the site are not an indication of what's actually there. The room was comfortable and all amenities were present. The lady host was friendly and sweet. There needs a bit of maintenance going up to the rooms. The curtain tie back cut me as it was just a screw sticking out the wall. Sadly quite disappointed.
The room we slept in had a bathroom that must have been added to the room at a later stage. There is no ceiling. The water falls directly on the plates making up the roof. There is no ceiling or insulation and the electrical wires are hanging from the roof. It makes such a noise that it was impossible to sleep. The supervisor thought it a big joke and mocked us outside the window telling one of the share holders/friend that we are complaining because it was raining. we could hear the whole conversation. She was not willing to do anything about it, besides laughing at us with her friend. I don't think that you can rent out a room if it is not up to standard.
The accommodation is neat and clean. Family room is not suitable for 4 adults. it is a bit to small. When we enquired to use the braaier, we were informed that we have to pay R100 to use it. Why not just include it in your accommodation. Other than that we enjoyed the stay, the location is great.
