The hotel has gated, fenced, secured parking and grounds, which seems to be important anywhere in j berg. The grounds are not much, but the hotel is clean quiet with roomy comfortable rooms. The beds are great. The A/C is good (that's important to me). very nice restaurant/ bar in house. The restaurant is sit down and order off the menu, with white table cloth. All good and very reasonable. Great WiFi. Very fast. Most of the WiFi in africa is so slow it's useless. They have a pool, but it's not much.
They have a free shuttle to the airport from 5AM to 11:30 PM, so getting there is hassle free. Only about a 10 minute drive. This hotel seems to be a popular spot for layovers at JNB airport, which is what we did. Lots of business types and airline crews stay there. After checking some of the booking sites, this looks like the best value for the dollar. There are probably more luxurious hotels, but not at $100.00 a night, which is what we paid.

The Premier, only 5 minutes from Johannesburg airport by the half-hourly free shuttle, is a very good place to stay. The hotel is attractive, well maintained and sparkingly clean. Staff are of real quality, well-trained, pleasant and effective. The bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped with good bathrooms (bath and separate shower). There is a small swimming pool and a pleasant outdoor sitting area. The restaurant’s food is well sourced,nicely cooked and delicious. We would heartily recommend the OR Tambo to anyone stopping off at the airport

The Premier OR Tambo has always been my hotel of choice when in Johannesburg. So l checked in on Friday 12 August, into suite 626 initially the room was cleaned ok but on Saturday after we went out and came back the room was not cleaned and the y were no bath mats and soap refills, the bed was unmade and mirrors not dusted at all, on phoning Thule at Reception she advised housekeeping had left and nothing could be done, but we had paid for the 2 night stay with full service not to be kept in a dirty room. Pathetic unfriendly service. We really miss the days of Mr Cramer. Reservations get your act together, when we stay at the hotel its not for free, we pay for the service.

The hotel is located just a few minutes drive from OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg, there is a shuttle every 30 mins to and from the hotel to the airport for almost all of the day. Despite being so close to the airport, it was not noisy at all and it was nice to get a good sleep away from engine noises. The room itself was very large, and a large kingsize bed. My only criticism was that there was no minibar, when your body is on a different time zones sometimes its needed to grab a drink or snack from the hotel minibar. But there were two bottles of water provided complimentary which was very welcome.
The staff were excellent and check in was fast. The bar staff were fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful at getting drinks, snacks as needed in the hotel bar. Breakfast was awesome, fresh made eggs/omelettes and a good selection of meats, cheeses, breads, fruit and yogurt.
All that at an excellent price too. I'll certainly be back!

This hotel is near the JNB airport.They have free shuttle service, well appointed large rooms with a tub, shower, safe, coffee maker, black out blinds, AC and heating, an on site restaurant with room service….and it was only about $100 CAD a night! I had taken ill and our flight wasn’t until 7 pm. My husband asked for a late checkout and we could have stayed for no extra fee, until 12:30pm however he found that for an extra $14 we could stay considerable later, so we stayed until 3:30, which was great for me since I was so sick. It isn’t a family hotel as I believe there are only 2 twins/1 king per room…and our room was spacious.I would highly recommend this hotel

I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay near the OR Tambo airport in Joberg. It is nearby, they have a small bar and restaurant, and the rooms are clean and large. The staff is helpful. I was stuck waiting for a flight to be rebooked to the US and also was able to take advantage of some spa services at the Evolve Spa. There is also a small gym and a nice outdoor pool. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the location which seemed quite far away from activities that i may have wanted to experience during my 2 day stay.

I stayed with premier o.r last night and ordered a steak when it was delivered it was off called the restaurant and they offered to replace it with oxtail which came burnt you could see it was the last scraps from the pot. Didn't wanna complain more so I just left it there in the room.

Hotel is close to airport and runs a free shuttle bus so good for a stopover. This is an extremely busy hotel so the 2 lifts are no adequate especially when the staff do not seem to have a service lift and use the same lifts too. The lifts are narrow and long making them feel cramp and with so many people in them it is not pleasant.
The rooms are fine and the breakfast is nice, the bar area had a good atmosphere and staff were friendly and helpful.
We did have marks on the bedsheet which the staff changed once reported and our key cards did not work on checkin so the porter asked the housekeeping staff to let us in so we were not further delayed getting in to our room.

We stayed here for one night upon arriving into Johannesburg quite late after a very long flight. It was not horrible, but also not great. This hotel feels like it is all style and no substance. It looks quite nice initially – relatively modern and high-end – but when you really look, you start to notice that things are off. For example, in the shower the tiles were starting to hang off the wall in places with what appeared to be black mold in between the tiles, and the shower head was barely attached to the wall. Also, there was no screen on any of the windows even though we were on one of the top floors and the windows did not shut properly. The other odd thing was the layout of the room. We were in a King Bed Suite, and while the room was huge and it was awesome to have a separate living area, I did not love that there are no doors between the bedroom and bathroom (aside from the room where the toilet is). I am used to hotels having no door between the sink and bedroom, but the shower is typically behind a door so as to not disturb anyone in the room who might still be sleeping. Not here. We had a very early start the next morning and because I get up an hour earlier than my husband, he was subject to the lights and noise of the shower while he was still trying to sleep (since the shower is basically right beside the bed). It was either that or shower in the dark. Also on the subject of the shower, the shelf inside the shower is at least 5 ft off the ground (above where I could reach anything) so apparently the shelf is only made for tall people. In addition, the shower immediately overflowed into the bathroom despite the shower door. Lastly on the subject of layout issues, there were no outlets near the bed. Overall, this hotel is fine for a one night stay if you’re looking for something close to the airport, but I would not have wanted to stay here for longer than that. I would also recommend skipping the restaurant unless you are getting into town quite late and just want to crash after a flight from the other wide of the world, like us (at least at dinner – can’t speak to breakfast).

We recently stayed at this hotel three different nights during our 2 week safari to Kruger and the Okavango in June. The rooms are nice and the restaurant has reasonably priced food, both menu and buffet. They also have a nice lounge/ bar area. I liked the fact that you can get off your flight, walk to the shuttle pick up area (5 min walk) and jump on the Premier's shuttle which comes by every 30 minutes (without calling them). The shuttle area is right behind the Intercontinental Hotel. The Premier hotel is a 5 min drive from there. They even safely stored our roller board suitcases for a week for free, while we flew up to Botswana. Only negative was they did not supply face cloths in the bathroom. They might want to include that item in the future. We'll be back in May 2023 for 2 more nights.

I am sorry I am not sure. Their shuttle service runs every 30 minutes but I believe it stops running late at night and starts again at 5am. But I am not sure what time the last shuttle is. The only other option is a short Uber trip. There are always Ubers available.

Sorry but I can’t be specific, that said I thought the prices here were reasonable for a mid range hotel that offers good eating and drinking options in a totally gated secure community.
Second try-
You have received good information. Having recently made the trip USA- JB - VIC FALLS , I have some input which should help. Arriving at 6:00 am, after baggage claim, customs etc. you will arrive at the hotel at about 10:00 am. I advise hiring a porter to carry your bags and guide you to the hotel shuttle bus stop. A private hotel driver contacted me about transport to the hotel. He was waiting for us at the customs exit. He only accepts SA Rand which you can get from an airport ATM.
Since you will be exhausted from the trip consider skipping any trips to shopping centers. Instead rest get organized and eat dinner at the very good hotel buffet.
You will find that the JBN airport has excellent duty free goods both African and other.-
In Victoria Falls, US dollars are accepted- you do not need local currency-.
Your hotel can book any tours you wish both private and group. We were there 4 days and had a private guide who drove us everywhere. He was wonderful and cost efficient recommended by a local travel agency. You can get very good deals which will help the locals.
