We stayed just over a week and had two different rooms, see the notes below, unfortunately the rooms without the early morning banging were also the smaller rooms without a refrigerator.
The hotel staff were superb and cannot be faulted, so helpful and friendly.
The only meal served in this hotel is breakfast and my suggestion would be to book in as bed only and have breakfast at one of the restaurants around the corner. In the hotel there are only two cooked items on the menu, fried eggs or omelet and the cook can prepare neither.

Manager of the hotel (Charmeeze) had an un-friendly ,un-welcoming and problematic attitude. She told me that guests book online for a long stay and then don't end up paying for that stay, but for the period they booked. I told her that I am not one of those guests and will pay upfront for 2 nights at a time as I have done before. She immediately made me feel as though I didn't or was not going to pay, yet I have for the entire stay.
2) The so called owner( Mr Andile under correction as he refused to give his name) and then partner (same man)of the property rudely intervened with an unwarranted statement that guests don't pay and that ends up being his problem. He also mentioned that he set up all the systems for all Tsogo Sun and AHA properties and that they report to him. I opposed his claim as I personally know the heads of Tsogo Sun and Aha being a former hotelier myself. I informed him that there is no need to lie to somebody you don't know in order to boost your self esteem. I don't respect such people being it an owner or not.
3) This was my wife's first stay and my 15 month old son. They were not even greeted, welcomed or my son was not even played with as a baby. That just goes to show their guest services.
4) I was discreetly judged probably due to the way in which I was dressed (shabby) , therefore not taken seriously, but I'm sure if I had a suite on then perhaps I won't have received such disgust and would have looked as though I can afford to pay.
5) After a few days within the stay staff who were good to us, were getting threatened and informed by both these individuals (management)that their jobs are on the line and not to share any information with us.
During check-in, the agent ripped my passport.
Management promised they would cover the replacement.
They've been ignoring me since. I've been messaging the manager but she's been ignoring me.
I typically stay at larger Marriott properties. This was a different experience. The room had an actual key to get into the room. The room itself was just ok, nothing fancy. The hotel was really small and only had rooms on a few floors. If you are into small, initimate hotels, this could be for you. The staff and the service was great, which made the stay very good.
The lobby is small but nicely done. Staff are very professional and courteous. The room was a good size, and clean. The bed was short buy comfy. The bathroom was very nice. Loved the walk-in shower. Nice balcony. (though not much of a view).
Wifi worked fine.
Good selection of restaurants nearby.
While it's maybe not a destination hotel, if you need to be in the area, I think it's a pretty solid choice.
