So without question, Boulders is an exceptional property. The setting and grounds are fantastic, and the golf is mostly good (more below). But, Hilton's customer service is so terrible that it would keep us from returning until and unless they fix it. Be forewarned. Room: 5 stars. We got a three bedroom hacienda, and it was spectacular. Bigger than my house with three beautiful bedrooms, full Viking equipped kitchen, two dining rooms, and three fireplaces: one living room, one main bedroom and one outside on the back deck (almost worth it alone). All comfortable beds, plenty of towels and kitchen equipped for cooking at home if you like (note: no room service to the Haciendas at least in Jan 2022). Nothing wrong with this room. Beautiful views. Quiet and peaceful. Customer Service: 0 stars. If I coukd give -5 stars I would. Two buddies and I signed up for the golf package three months ago only to arrive straight at the course to be told we were not on a "stay and play" package by the golr pro shop. The golf Customer Experience, btw, is 5 stars, they clearly have seen this snafu before and took it in stride. We got to reception and that's where the struggle started. You'd think after committing to 9k for 4 nights their response would (and should) be "how can we make this right for you?" Not a chance. Instead they treated us like our COVID make were a part of an armed robbery. Maybe it's COVID and they can't get good help that stays or these are temps but, all the first two employees did was tell us we were wrong and that we did not book a package and there was nothing they could do? Really? The room was the same room and we already dutifully booked tee times so all they needed to do was apologize and change a code. 30 mins later with two different inept managers stepping in, also trying to tell us we were wrong and nothing could be done, it appears Hilton thought we were trying to get away with something. We would not have come but for the stay and play as the only purpose for the trip was golf. I need to underscore they the lack of positive "customer is always right attitude" is somewhat astounding (though sadly common in the post covid hospitality space). She demanded to know the name of the employee who confirmed the goof package three months ago? Unbelievable. Sure we had no reason to distrust the telephone employee because the Boulders is a nice place. Once we made it clear we would pay any difference in charge, then the $2000 increase suddenly make all their reluctance go away. Did anybody tell us the 2k upgrade might be more expensive than the stay and play? Nope. Never came up as the Hilton staff had no idea what greens fees were. The level of denial and confrontation was so bad that the CS would definitely keep us from coming back. One isolated incident you say? No. Sorry. We were provided a $75 late check out option when we made the reservation. When we asked the Hilton people about it the day before checkout, we were told complimentary one hour, 200 for 2 pm and 400 for 4 pm. Come on. The room was clearly not occupied and they easily could accommodate us but instead denied the existence of the coupon we were given. If you don't believe me check the other reviews. If they mention bad customer experience then you'll know. Grill: 2 stars. While some of the food is decent the service here is undeniably slow and uneven. If you're trying to make a tee time at a golf course grill, then they SHOULD know how to get your order in/out and checked out fast. It was news to these people,however, and we had to cancel a tee time because they couldn't render a couple of burgers and wings in less than an hour when only two other tables were in the house. Not good. Golf: 3.5/5 stars. South Course is beautiful and quite scenic. North Course less so, but still nice. This is my second trip to these courses. Plenty of differing tee boxes for different levels (though expect those visor wearing dudes from Sometown USA to be playing the wrong freaking tees for their abilities). Bev carts staff 5 /5 stars. Except they need to stock coffee in the am when it's mid 40s and never did. But the greens themselves suck. And I mean suck. They are terrible even for your local muni, let alone a course that's trying to get you for $400 a round. The starters noted it and blamed on the visor "d bags" who don't repair their ballmarks, but the grounds crew needs to do a whole lot better. It's just NOT worth it. Pace of play is atrocious and that's because the quality of golfer and member who play here is not appropriate to the tee boxes played and the starters don't do anything to encourage the right boxes. Officially supposed to be a 4 hour round but starter readily admitted it's 5 and 6 hours. We were over MLK long weekend and it was at least 5 until the following Tuesday and then closer to 4.5. Bottom line: Boulders, you could have been a contendah. But you got knocked down for the count by your own crappy customer service, uneven restaurant options and sub par greens conditions and pace of play. Overall 3 to 3.5 stars/5.

Originally I wrote this under the Boulders Spa listing but this listing is more to the point. This was our first time at this property of the Hilton Chain. Staff was excellent and attentive. Check in was quick and friendly. We arrived around 5:30PM (Check in 4 or later) Staff brought us to our “Casita” via special golf carts with luggage compartments in back. There is a $35 resort fee per day which is to cover amenities and gratuities. I did give an extra $5 to the driver as he was extra nice and besides carrying our heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs and into the unit, showed us around and explained everything in the room and including the self locking balcony slider doors. (Later we accidentally locked ourselves out on the balcony and were able to text the main desk to have someone rescue us). The room we had was extra large as it was an upgraded casita from the standard ones. ( I recommend you reserve using the Hilton App as there are much better choices for rooms and when you are a member you can choose upgrades for extra $$ and sometimes get lots of perks for no extra $) App prices are the same or lower than major booking sites. We had the experience of eating dinner at “THE GRILL” restaurant which requires the shuttle to bring you there (Plenty of shuttles are available all day) Apparently they were short handed at dinner and service a bit slow and not up to Hilton standards that evening. The next 2 mornings we again ate at “The Grill” for breakfast and were treated to excellent service and great food at typical hotel restaurant prices ( All a la carte) There are more than 1 pool and the main pool behind the lodge was well serviced with towels etc (handicapped swing is available) there also is an attendant making continuous rounds for drinks / food that can be added to your room tab. Unfortunately we only had 2 days visit and the place has 2 golf courses (one for members only) but we did get to experience 2 great sunrises and see plenty of local wildlife early in the morning (rabbits, Quayles, etc)

Did not provide professional customer service and hotel mistake completely changed dynamics for my guests. Hotel manager tried to downgrade and this was a reservation I made two months ago. Broken doors, broken cabinets, requested cot and tooth brush and it never arrived. Made reservations at the grill two months ago and was told day off the grill was closed. It was one bad experience after another.

We booked our stay back in September of 2021 and upon seeing some of the more recent negative reviews I was a little nervous about our upcoming trip. I reached out to the concierge via email and voiced my concerns, mostly about the complaints that people could not get a golf cart when they needed it because I am 5 months pregnant and we are here on a babymoon. I was nervous about possibly having to walk too far at the resort. I received a response promptly from the hotel manager, David who assured us that we would have everything we needed. We have only been here two days so far and we are so impressed with the staff, the resort and our experience in general. I can’t wrap my head around the negative reviews. From the moment we arrived we were greeted politely by the guard at the front gate who was able to quickly explain how to get to the lodge and how parking worked. When we arrived at the lodge the valet and shuttle team out front greeted us immediately, were incredibly friendly and explained that we could leave our car and things while we checked in and would then be escorted to the parking lot and our room. At the front desk, David greeted us personally and had already pre-assigned us to a room in a primary location with a very short walk to the parking lot and lodge/main pool. He asked if we’d prefer this location or a better view. We opted for the closer room and the view is still beautiful. We went back outside and we were immediately escorted to a parking lot where the valet loaded our bags onto his golf cart and took us to the front door of our casita. He explained how everything in the room worked, showed us the fireplace, adjusted the thermostat for us and ensured we had everything we needed before leaving us. Everyone we’ve encountered since has been SO friendly and so helpful. We have sent in a few requests to the staff via the Hilton app for logs for our fireplace which we are thoroughly enjoying and we have gotten an immediate response every time and logs delivered in under five minutes. We also had a great experience today at the pool. The service and food was excellent. This has already been such a relaxing and wonderful stay for our last trip before we become parents. I cannot thank David and his team enough for treating us so wonderfully. The resort itself is beautiful as are the rooms which look just like the pictures on the site. I am looking forward to the rest of our stay and I encourage anyone considering a stay here to go ahead and book it. The surrounding area is also nice and convenient - we were able to place a quick drive up order at target for some snacks and other things we needed. Love this place, we will be back!

After trying to vacation in Mexico and the issues with travel we decided to vacation local. This was our first time staying at The Boulders and we were extremely pleased with our choice.
