Best location in Bora Bora, facing Mt Otemanu on one side and a beautiful ocean lagoon on the other side. Beach is beautiful, nice pool, good selection of restaurants. Fairly expansive grounds with areas to bike and explore, with the lagoonarium a unique attraction. Rooms: All OWBs have great views--unlike some other resorts, OWBs face either the lagoon or Mt Omenanu, not other OWB's. OWB’s are the largest in Bora Bora, plenty of space with a living room, large bedroom, huge bathroom with double vanities. Nice decks with covered sitting area. Dining: Breakfast was consistently strong with terrific service. No longer a buffet, it's order whatever you want from the server (I prefer this approach anyway, regardless of COVID). Breakfast was strong, most everything was very good. If something wasn’t your particular taste, just ask for something else. We were at 3 resorts in FP and we agreed St Regis had the best breakfast. Dinners: Wife loved the risotto at Far Niente, I thought the calzone was ok. We liked the Indian and Mexican nights at Aparina. These were some of my favorites, as these were the first meals in FP where the chef actually put some heat into the entrees. We had Mexican twice and Indian once. Cerviche and Beef fajitas on Mexican night and Tandoori & fish and chicken masala on Indian night were standouts. Indian night in particular brought some heat. Lagoon: What else is there to say, this is a bucket list restaurant for a bucket list destination. No, it’s not on par with Alinea or Momotaro, but it’s very strong and all-in (food, service, location, ambience, gorgeous sunset views, fish under the glass) it’s a must do if you can absorb the hit to your wallet. BTW no more sharks, they let them go free awhile back. We did drinks at the outdoor bar to catch the early sunset (5:45ish), then the Lagoon tasting menu (fair warning $198/pp). The 2 apps (octopus and tuna) were outstanding. Of the 2 entrees, the fish (Uravena) was a real standout and the beef, while quite good, wasn't as memorable as it was like a steak back home. That speaks to how unique the other proteins were. Surprisingly,we thought the desserts at the St Regis, including at Lagoon, were very good but not excellent like the rest of the meal. Conrad had better desserts. No comparison between signature restaurants, Lagoon blows away Conrad's Iritai (except for desserts, hire their pastry chef). Recreation: Assigned bikes are great, go when you want and explore the resort. Lagoonarium is awesome, we went to the fish feeding and listened to the presentation, which was professional and well done. Plenty of room to snorkel with no crowds. 120 fish species according to the expert, we saw 20-25 plus eels & octopi, and were right next to Terry, the large Napolean blue fish who looks a lot bigger when you are in the water 5 feet away from him. Beach and pool were great, we preferred the beach. 2nd pool was very close to our OWB, but it was closed for repairs (they don't tell you that on the website). Kayak/paddleboard are included so you can just walk up and go. The beach team does a great job, have to call out Reuben who is so professional and helpful. Also want to call out our jet ski instructor (forget his name, it was a tongue twister), but the 90 minute tour is a must do. You go completely around Bora Bora, see all the other resorts, get some local history but plenty of time to just cruise on top notch jet skis. The instructor is the right mix of friendly but not overly talkative. Of course, OWB snorkeling is a must. If you time it right you will see fish, skates and stingrays. We saw stingrays while paddleboarding, kayaking, jet skiing and snorkeling, they are really cool to watch. Also sure we saw some smallish (3-4’) lemon sharks twice zipping by off our deck. If you want to know what to do when you see one, just turn on the tv and watch Couples Retreat, which runs on an endless loop (if you don't understand French, you might find yourself gravitating to this channel often). Service: Anyone who has tried to conduct business/zoom calls in their hotel room knows what I'm talking about in regard to loud & obnoxious housekeeping--singing, yelling etc.. I guess it's a personal hot button for me, so it was immediately noticeable how discreet yet efficient this housekeeping staff was. There are a bunch of bungalows over the water a good distance from the main resort area, so you can hear just about everything. Despite this, the housekeepers do a great job of getting in and out of rooms all day long with a minimum of noise. While floating on a tube at our OWB I saw a housekeeper on the opposite side of the docks lose a trash bag in the wind and drop off the dock. She literally spent 10 minutes working to find a way to grab this trash bag from the ocean--name another country where you would see that? As mentioned, want to call out Reuben and beach team including jet ski instructor; Our butler, Ida, who was always there for us (I felt like I should be making up requests because she already had everything covered); Restaurant and bar service teams were excellent including Tristan at Lagoon and the ladies at Aparima (breakfast and dinner plus the pool bar). St Regis Bora Bora is a bucket list destination and we were glad we pulled the trigger and finally made the long trip. Of course there are things St Regis can improve (so many printouts? digital wristband instead of old school room keys etc) and of course everything is very expensive, but on the whole this is one of the best resorts we’ve visited. As a longtime Marriott/Starwood/Bonvoy member, this is one of the handful of locations in the portfolio that motivate people like me to spend so many nights in Courtyards & Fairfields, so it was great to have the experience be everything we thought it would be.

Beautiful property and location but what would you expect otherwise at St. Regis Bora Bora?! Aside from the obvious pros already mentioned it other reviews, I did want to mention a few negative things we experienced during our honeymoon stay: -we rented a scooter on the main island through the concierge and I'm not sure if it was their fault or Avis', but they thought we scheduled it for the next day instead of the day of so we were picked up 45 mins late from St. Regis main base. -on the same day as above, the concierge mistakenly booked us the wrong restaurant on the main island (Bora Bora Beach Club), so when we showed up to the restaurant we originally asked for (La Matira Beach Restaurant), we found out it was actually closed for a year (how did concierge not know this)?! As a result, we stressed over figuring out where we were actually booked for dinner all while having no cell service and an overdue scooter rental -all of the on-site restaurants were not open so we felt very restricted in terms of food options. Mexican night (fajitas) at one of their restaurants were also the worst we've ever had. Worst $88/pp we've ever spent.

As I am writing this review, I am a little bit saddened by the fact that our stay and trip to St. Regis Bora Bora is indeed concluded :( The memories, everything was absolutely amazing - from the moment we stepped off the plane to the minute we departed. Firstly, when you arrive, you are greeted and whisked away to the largest yacht/boat in the dock. The journey to the resort starts you off right with cold lemon towels and water. Then when you arrive you are greeted individually. We were lucky enough to be greeted by Ritchie, the head butler, who is a true gentleman. He gave us a tour of the facilities and while we were waiting for our room, he had everything arranged for us to just relax by the beach. As soon as the room was ready, he came back to pick us up. Upon entrance to our overwater villa we were totally floored by how grand it was. We were initially hesitant b/c the photos looked dated but upon arrival we could not stop smiling ear - to - ear. We facetimed our family and closest friends just so they could share in our joy. The food on the property was decent. Breakfast was definitely our favorite and each morning we would be greeted and checked in on by a butler. Ritchie again was a rock star. He even wrote us a letter informing us of his off day and the following day, we had Ida from HK come visit us on his day off and she was equally as sweet and helped us change our plans around too. Loved hearing her story too and what she enjoyed on the property. The workouts were fun and a good way to get the sweat going too!! We love hearing stories of folks moving to Bora Bora and their reasons behind it. Lulu kicked our butts with the cross-fit but we loved it. It was all incredibly wonderful. Even with it booked mostly full, we did not feel as if it was crowded at all. We have left three weeks ago and still are on a high from the trip. Don't get us wrong - everything was expensive from a dollar standpoint but the value we received we felt it was worth it. We hope to one day go back again.

Go, just go and experience a little slice of Polynesian heaven! Just returned from a 5 night stay at this amazing resort (in fact we tried to extend our stay, our bungalow was available but we were unable to coordinate same class return flight and extend our dog sitter back home) - we spent 5 nights on Moorea prior to arriving and we were so glad that we visited Moorea first because had we reversed our islands we would have had a huge let down. St. Regis sits on 44 acres and the property is landscaped beautifully!! Great gym (yes we work out on vacation) outstanding breakfast, amazing views, paddle boards, kayaks, arranged excursions, butler service, complimentary bikes. And yes, as another reviewer has stated, stellar service from everyone we interacted with! Having lived in NYC when the restaurant VONG opened - it was one of my favorites - I was excited to learn that the same restaurateur was responsible for LAGOON. We ate there 4 of 5 nights - dining perfection - and the kitchen graciously accommodated my husband and my request for "sauce on the side" for our selections. Then add the incredible service provided by Lorraine and the entire meal is elevated to the next level!! Walking back to our bungalow among the towering palms, listening to them rustle in the wind was one of my favorite things Honestly, we didn't want to leave. And we will be back ... there are a few other of the islands we'd like to visit and finish with another stay at this fine resort!!

We stayed here for our 4 year wedding anniversary July 2021, after previously staying here for our honeymoon. We had gone back and forth about returning to the same hotel, or trying something different. We are very happy we decided to return. Our original hesitation was with the speed of service. Being from the NYC area we are used to a quick paced way of life, and quick paced restaurant service. You will not find that in Bora Bora. It took us a bit of time to realize that this was just a cultural difference, and not a reflection on the St. Regis. If you have that expectation going in to things you will LOVE it here. The St. Regis staff is absolutely amazing. Every single person we interacted with was a pleasure. They have such a happy friendly vibe, that goes perfectly with the beautiful surroundings. No request was too big or too small. Our butler checked in with us regularly to make sure all was well. The beach/pool staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Every dining experience was wonderful. Some of our favorite things….. - all of the restaurants have amazing food. We ventured off the resorts for 2 meals and regretted it. - each bungalow has its own bicycles for traveling around the resort (previously they were communal bikes) -the resort NEVER feels crowded. You can always get a spot by the beach or pool. -the resort has one if the best locations on Bora Bora - the little things make a big difference….like having a butler deliver coffee to your room in the morning. We would sit on our dock and enjoy our first cup of coffee overlooking the beautiful waters
