The hotel building and lobby are attractive and luxurious. Unfortunately the room didn't quite match the hotel's outward appearance. The bed was big and comfortable, but unfortunately it wasn't possible to get a good night's sleep because of the terrible noise from other rooms and the street. You could hear the guests in the room above every time they walked about or used the toilet. Wooden-framed windows that don't close properly meant that you could hear all the noise from the street, including heavy traffic and a bar right underneath the window. The breakfast had an ample selection.
Very clean hotel, big rooms well equiped, rich breackfast boufet, good price. Everything a visitor needs. Quite place, very polite employees. Very close to the railway station (5 minutes walking distance), close to the city center.
Very clean, old fashioned hotel, convenient for walking to city walls and old town. Has plenty of bars nearby along with supermarket. City bus stops outside and there are plenty of taxis passing by. Avila is a fabulous place to visit, full of history and amazing architecture.
This hotel is near the station and a 10 minute walk to the old city. Worth all the stars, rooms are large , beds are comfortable, everything is very clean. Nice staff. The hotel bar , next door, is very good. Perfect for a few drinks before you go to bed. WiFi in hotel is good.
This 4 star hotel advertises theme rooms and I must admit that at first glance it looked great. Over time it became evident that the theme for our room was "find something that works". Safe not operable will fix maniana. A/c not coping will fix maniana. Room light switch not working. Only spare power point in the room not working. Bedspread was that old and threadbare that two large holes were evident. Balcony door locks you out on the balcony unless you are Hercules. Bathroom door makes up for the balcony doors because it won't close. Of most concern to us though was the fact that someone has picked up this hotel and moved it from where it advertised itself as being some 400m from the old city to over 1 kM away. Lots of nicer looking hotels within the old city.
