We loved every moment at this hotel. Rooms are nice and clean, grounds are a specious and beautiful tropical gardens. Staff are kind and helpful and breakfast was nice. We have stayed at other hotels in Costa Rica which were worst and cost a lot more. Only regret is that we only stayed for three nights.

Hotel Secreto La Fortuna has a beautiful garden that attracts lots of birds and two welcoming trees just outside the property hosting sloths. Members of the staff are very helpful and attentive and the breakfast is very good and varied as you pick your choice off a menu of three items. All come with juice, fresh fruit and coffee or tea. The location is great as it is only a five minute stroll to the center of Fortuna and the lively restaurant and bar scene. Rooms are nice and spacious with comfortable beds and good air on. The bathrooms, however, need better lighting. The pool area is also very nice but there are only four deck chairs for guests. Try to get a room with a view of the volcano. Our room was in a distant corner with a view from the small table outside of a brick wall topped with razor wire. Generally recommend this hotel for location, the lovely garden and the very helpful and accommodating staff.…

good hotel in a great location, close to the center of La fortuna, the staff were very nice, breakfast was also good and garden is lovely, room was spacius and very clean the only thing I didn't like was the fact that the walls are very thin ! I could hear all conversations from guest next door, I could even hear them snoring during the night!

What a pleasant surprise! We weren't sure what to expect, but El Secreto did not disappoint! We were greeted by Olivia, who was so helpful and friendly. She even showed us the sloth up in the tree at the front of the property. The location was perfect for just walking around the beautiful little town for eats and drinks and shopping. It was clean and cozy and comfortable! The only, albeit tiny, complaint I have is that the chairs outside the room were so uncomfortable that I grabbed pillows from the room and sat on them on the patio to hang out outside. But the beer was cold, so I was happy.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Secreto. The staff gets a 5 rating, the hotel itself gets a 4 star. The rooms are basic but clean. The breakfast was good. We really enjoyed bird watching while having breakfast. The staff went out of their way to help us book day trips and transportation. We left a pair of binoculars at our prior hotel and the staff at Secreto contacted the prior hotel and had the binoculars delivered to us.

I loved this hotel very much! The reception was very helpful and they offered laundry which can return on the same day. The breakfast portion was huge for me. The bread was well toasted and bacon and eggs were fried nicely. Though i was there for breakfast earlier than their service time, the staff still prepared for me quickly and insisted to serve me a cup of nice hot coffee as i wasn't sure if i should take it before a long ride. but i was grateful that she offered since i really like Costa Rica coffee. My room located close to dining place with a huge king side bed. it was spacious, very clean, with AC, TV, and a very nice bathroom. I really liked the dryness of the room after coming from very humid Tortuguero LOL. One of the best parts of this hotel is its location. It's close to many nice restaurants. All are within 10 mins walks. It's just outside the town but not too far. So can still enjoy the quiet time but also the convenience that the town offered. Oh there is one three-toed sloth and one two-toed sloth living on the trees close to the hotel so don't forget to ask the reception to show you or your tour guide to take photo for you through telescope. i got my best shot of sloth and my only one photo of toucan in Hotel Secreto La Fotuna. I will stay at this hotel again if i get a chance to come back! :-)…

The hotel is very close to downtown, and the staff was very accommodating! We had some flight issues and the staff was very helpful with members of our group arriving very late. They also accommodated us while we had a delayed departure.

We loved the view of Volcan Arenal! Very well maintained and well located hôtel. The staff members were very useful to find best restaurants and hot springs venue in town. We enjoyed the pool after hicking the volcano.

Good hotel with clean rooms and wonderful staff. Breakfast was good with 3 options to choose from. There was building work going on in the grounds when we were there, which made things a little noisy in the day but that'll pass soon. Plenty of wildlife be seen in hotel grounds
