A hotel with a motel feel to it. The rooms were nice with an outdoor area. There us a lovely stream running through the property. You can wander around the mini rainforest there. The restaurant (at the hotel( Bamboo Gardens) is great. They even made me a dish that wasn’t on the menu. We visited the volcano and bathed in hot spring pools. Both experiences were great. We also visited the La Fortuna waterfall. The little town was ok. Eating out there was rather expensive.

This is a great little boutique hotel ideally located in the centre of town. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, birds, frogs, and even a sloth enjoy the hotel grounds. The hotel rooms are spacious and spotless, and even include a balcony. Excellent breakfast included, served by incredibly friendly staff. We also ate dinner here one night. There’s a pool, a bar, friendly and helpful desk staff. Really loved this spot, and would definitely return.

Hotel with a little river and garden at the back. You can hear the rivers flowing at night. I saw a sloth at the tree close to our room. Free full breakfast has 4 choices, with great fruit, fresh juice and coffee. The housekeeper took time to make our room tidy with our towels folded into cute animals. Room has a private balcony.

We had a great time at Monte Real. The staff were all so friendly and happy to help. Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfasts are freshly made and plentiful. The main town and restaurants are only a very short walk away. Just be careful if you walk to the waterfall which has a big incline the last few kilometres!

Hotel Monte Real offered clean rooms and a bit of the jungle right outside for a reasonable price. A few blocks from the heart of La Fortuna, the hotel is a reasonable walk to many restaurants in town, as well as a short drive to both the Volcano and Waterfall.

We really liked this place, the room was well appointed and clean, the grounds are really nice, and the restaurant and breakfast are great! Its easy to walk into the main area of town, but a couple of blocks from the action which is perfect. The staff (especially Ariana, she was great and really pleasant) was helpful and arranged transport for us to get to our next destination, which we appreciated. For the price, it is a good find, we give it two thumbs up!

What a delightful hotel. Nestled into the rainforest, the rooms are good sized and well-apportioned. This is not an upscale hotel, but it makes up for that with the views, lovely pool, and wonderful restaurant. Try the mango juice while there.

Hotel was perfect for our 2 night stay for our family of 4. With us was our 19 y/o and 16 y/o. Breakfast was included with a full menu at their outdoor garden cafe. The cafe sits next to a soothing river. It’s located in town so walking to restaurants is easy. A/C was cold once we figured out it was controlled by the remote (LOL!). Staff was very nice. Perfect location if you have no car.

Great hotel in La Fortuna - walking distance to many restaurants, shops and a park with a fountain. Nice, clean, large room with balcony overlooking part of Arenal Volcano. Loved the breakfast, cooked for us, with fresh fruit and coffee. Great waiter and nice eating area along river! Both girls in office were friendly and very helpful! Bed was comfortable and had beautiful towel designs each day! Hotel has pool with beautiful trees and plants on property. We even saw a sloth in tree near our room. Thank you for a great experience! This hotel was a good value! Already recommending hotel and hope to come back!

centrally located, walking distance to many restaurants. Very helpful staff. Nice nature walk on property. While city is much larger than I expected, unspoiled par5ks are nearby. the room and terrace was very nice and the on site breakfast was very good.
