We had a great time at the Treehouses. We stayed in the Monkey tree house which has great luggage storage and plenty of room to get around. We did not see any sloths or monkeys but lots of birds. On the night hike we saw an armadillo, frog, ants and a spider. We took an excursion with Juan Carlos that was all day and he was fantastic, they booked a white water rafting excursion for our group that was so much fun and very convenient, we also did a chocolate making excursion that was fun and informative. Breakfast each morning was amazing!!! I wish we could have stayed 1 more day there to just relax and enjoy the tree houses. We were always on the go. One day we were so busy they ordered pizza and had it delivered to us just in time to eat quickly and move on to the next excursion. The transportation that was arranged for us from the airport and on to our next hotel was very nice and comfortable. The driver would stop anywhere we wanted to for food, photos or shopping.…
A unique and great experience. It was fun to stay in the treehouse, the treehouses are beautiful. We loved the nightwalk and saw lots of animals, a tarantula, scorpion, turtle, ants, armadillo and frogs. We liked the walk around the property, however the waterfall is no longer a place you can swim, which is a shame. This was the only negative about our stay. My girls loved the dogs on site, especially as they walk you down to the waterfall. Rae is great and booked us a chocolate tour, which was excellent. There was dancing at breakfast which my girls loved and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
My family and I had a great stay in the 'Sloth' treehouse - such a unique experience nestled within the forest surrounded by so much nature including hummingbirds, bats and even a resident sloth or two! We loved the FREE night tour which was brilliant as well as nature walks throughout the private land. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful, always available for a chat and to provide tips and recommendations. The accommodation was clean and included thoughtful item like a daily thermos of hot coffee and tea bought to your treehouse each morning. We would love to come back some day, highly recommended!
We stayed 3 nights in the Monkey tree house, 2 adults and 3 children aged 6-12. Great place! Cosy house and staying there we felt in the middle of nature. Very friendly and personal service, small scale. Sustainability thinking, great breakfast. Recommend walking the trail down to the river and take a swim. /Lena w family /Sweden
We stayed at the Frog Tree House for 3 nights, and loved it. The space worked great for our family of four and we were not bothered by vehicles from the street. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we were able to check-in early the first day. It was great to have a place to hike to a small waterfall. We really enjoyed the night hike and went all three days - we enjoyed it better than a night hike we paid for in Manuel Antonio area. We did a tour and volunteered with nearby animal refuge center - Proyecto Asis, which was a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend staying here (especially if you are getting your own car).
This place is one of the best memories I will carry from our two week trip to Costa Rica! Waking up in the morning, you step outside to find someone has brought a canteen of coffee waiting for you, and a container of plantains to attract the birds so you sit in peace drinking coffee and watching all the beautiful Costa Rican birds right beside you!! Very comfortable, air conditioned, small fridge, plumbing worked well (I was skeptical for a treehouse lol!), and such a lovely cast of staff. Top it off with nightly nature walks provided on site which was amazing.
We absolutely loved our stay at Tree Houses Hotel! From their quick responses to my emails in advance of our trip, being flexible with our arrival time, the friendless and hospitality of all the staff to the property itself, this is a great place to stay! We stayed in the Monkey Treehouse, which was in a private location surrounded by trees. The beds were very comfortable and it has a full bathroom and shower which worked great. We took a night tour, which is offered on the property at no charge. This was a lot of fun, we learned a lot, and found a lot of night critters including frogs, a sloth, sleeping birds, a scorpion, and others. During the day, the bird watching is amazing and Yiandra is so helpful identifying what they are and sharing information about them. There was such a variety of hummingbirds, and we saw toucans, motmots, and many other birds. The wrap around porch is wonderful for relaxing while observing wildlife, and coffee is delivered to the porch in the morning along with plantains for the bird feeder, which brings the birds up close. Breakfast each morning was great and I sure wish I had the recipe for the amazing empanadas. My son got the opportunity to press sugar cane and we all enjoyed the sweet drink. Special thanks to Rae, Yiandra, Felipe, and Efren for the amazing hospitality. If I had to do it over, we would stay longer and do some of the recommended excursions we read about in the treehouse. If we return to Costa Rica, we will include Tree Houses in our plans! …
Unless you have a rental car, there is no point going here. They charge 10 times more than regular taxi if you have to go out to eat lunch or dinner. If you call an Uber to pay fair amount for transportation, they don’t like it, cos they lose money:-) Breakfast was great, but it wasn’t easy to get good meals for lunch and dinner. If you want to take a shower after sweating (after walking around in nature), please don’t go here. One day, our shower worked on and off, we had to wash soap by getting water from the sink in cups. After complaining, water was burning hot for next two days. I missed proper showers. As soon as you come down stairs, beautiful hammocks, which you can’t use, because you don’t want to smell sewer.
My wife & I recently visited the Tree Houses Hotel for three nights on our trip to beautiful Costa Rica. It was our 6th visit to this location and we have enjoyed all of them very much. This property is gem, with wildlife & birds to see and a great walking trail that leads to a river. We have seen & photographed howler monkeys from the deck of our tree house! The included breakfast is wonderful with a huge variety of birds to watch at the nearby feeders while you eat. A hot beverage is brought right to your tree house around 6 a.m. each morning along with plantains or papaya that are placed on a small feeder that attracts even more birds. Rae, Yiadra & Felipe are great hosts and always available to answer questions or help with planning. The rooms are air conditioned as well. This is not your typical hotel experience, it is truly unique and we highly recommend it.…
We stayed at Treehouse in August for three nights with my teenage niece and nephew as part of our Costa Rica trip. We LOVED our stay! We were in Agouti, which was nice. It’s farther back, so rainy walks to breakfast or activities on property were routine, but to be expected in a rainforest. Bring or buy an umbrella. Raincoats are hot:) Sleeping was comfortable for the 4 of us. One teen in the double bed and the other in the single. Everyone was happy. The outdoor shower was quite a treat! Loved hearing all the sounds! We took many of the night walks and highly recommend that! Taking one the first night helped us orient our animal eyes for the rest of our stay:) SO many critters all around!!! Breakfast was fantastic! Coffee on the porch- incredible! They even made an early breakfast on our porch one morning for our early excursion day! Rae was wonderful and helped organize some of our excursions- Rio Celeste with Juan Carlos was fabulous! Chocolate making with My Two Monkeys on property was also great! Staff helped us order in meals twice, which we loved! It was nice to be able to just sit and enjoy the treehouse after adventuring all day. Restaurant recommendations were delicious! Tree House was the perfect kickoff to our vacation! I can’t say enough wonderful things about it! We very much felt like we were staying with family and we loved that! Thanks for sharing your special space with us! We hope to return some day!…
