My sister and I are repeat guests at ACI. We keep returning as we have had nothing but a good experience. The staff are great, very helpful. The groundskeeper let us know when he saw anything of note on the grounds. It is located on the outskirts of La Fortuna, but is close enough to walk downtown. There are restaurants and a grocery store within easy walking distance. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.and attract a wide variety of birds, sloths and iguanas. The beautiful , clean pool is a welcome feature. The included breakfast was really good. Try the pancakes with real Canadian maple syrup! As repeat guests, the staff made us feel like family!
Great hotel to stay. Nice spacious rooms with ensuite clean bathroom. Quiet place to stay. Breakfast good organized and parking lot in front of your room. Like the ambiance, help and service from the owners.
The room was good. It was a quiet area easily walkable into a bustling town with great restaurant choices. The pool was rather cold but the few children around didn’t mind. The only negative for us was the breakfast. There was not much choice.
Quiet and pleasant Arenal Country Inn hotel. Away and private, but within walking distance to the busy town center. Adriana arranged all our day trips, tours, and the extra details that we asked for. All worked out smooth and wonderful. Will definitely stay there again
We had to move our 4 night stay last minute to Arenal Country Inn after arriving at our booked hotel and it being not as advertised. Country Inn greeted us warmly even though we arrived late at night. Our room was clean and we always had hot water in the shower for our family of 4. The included breakfast was a buffet of fruit, eggs, pancakes, rice & beans, plantains, toast, fruit juice and coffee. We utilized the laundry service as we had clothes that were soaked from an excursion and returned that evening to them clean and folded in our room. Front desk Alicia and all employees we encountered were friendly and always helpful. The hotel is close to town and plenty of food options. We would stay here again!
We fully enjoyed our time at Arenal Country Inn!! From the moment we booked our reservation, Adriana (the proprietor) and staff were extremely accommodating. Everyone made sure that we had everything we needed and were very helpful in arranging our activities (i.e: rainforest hikes, white water rafting, etc). The hotel is immersed in true tropical rainforest beauty, with colorful flora and exotic birds, but it is also nearby the town centre (within walking distance). We would definitely come back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
I just got back from an 11-day tour of Costa Rica. As part of the tour our group stayed at the Arenal Country Inn. This property is very tidy and pleasant. The buildings are well-maintained and the rooms, while small, are very clean and the bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning worked well, and the pool was pristine. It's not a luxury property, but it is absolutely all you need with no extras to speak of. The daily breakfast is basic and is provided in an open-air (but covered) pavilion. The food was adequate with a decent selection. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. You can sign out an umbrella at the front desk, if you need it. Overall, it is a nice place within walking distance to town.
Our family of 4 (12y and 15y kids) stayed recently for 4 days. We came from another area of the country with a ton of wet clothes that would not dry in the rainy season. For a fee the hotel took our large bag of laundry and had it fresh and folded the following morning. It felt like christmAs getting all those dry clothes! This is a small hotel, beautifully manicured grounds, and a nice view of the volcano if it is out of the clouds. We did not swim in the pool, but it was clear and large and appealing. The sheets were crisp and dry and the room impeccably clean. I found the beds quite comfortable. We had a room by the pool and my kids report that the Wi-Fi was great. It was a room with 2 twin beds and a double bed. One of the twins had a trundle so we each had a separate bed. Hot showers. Great a/c. Breakfast was included and served outdoors in a rustic covered area that was clean and nicely set up. A buffet is served with fruit, eggs, pancakes, toast, and some Costa Rican choices that always included gallo pinto and some other rotating choices. The hotel feels like it is outside the city, but it is well within walking distance to the center of town. Within a few blocks are a nice pizza/ pasta place and a grocery store. We took an Uber into the center of town one day in the rain for a few dollars. The hotel staff helped us set up tours and activities and we enjoyed all of their recommendations. Overall a great stay!…
The hosts were wonderfully accommodating even when we locked ourselves out of our rooms sometimes. They offered to call restaurants for on site deliveries and their breakfasts were wonderful. They even had Canadian Maple syrup for their pancakes.
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and enjoyed the spacious rooms and its location within a walking distance to La Fortuna downtown, and a short driving distance to many attractions. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel served a complimentary filing Costa Rican style breakfast and the pool was nice and clean. The main drawbacks for us were the nearby road noise and the adjacent rooms sound isolation (we could hear our neighbors while inside our room). Also, it seemed like the hot tub was not usable and needed some maintenance. Overall, if you don't expect a secluded resort like feel, you would find a nice, clean, safe and family friendly hotel for exploring the area while staying within a walking distance from La Fortuna downtown.
