Although a bit hard to find in the dark, once here this is the best location, with an awesome view! Staff was great, room was bright, bed comfortable, private balcony looking at Arenal was perfect. The breakfast restaurant was right down the street and served wonderful Tico breakfast, also with a great view. Right down the street in the opposite direction from breakfast is the busy town of La Fortuna, but you feel like a little oasis here, as it is off the beaten path enough to be quieter. The park and church are another short walk away. Really could not have picked a better place! Thank you.
The hotel staff was welcoming and helped with everything we asked for. The location of the hotel is really close to the center but quiet. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable and the shower is good. Great breakfast a short walk away overlooking the forest reserve. Full value for the price.
This is a lovely hotel - used to be called the La Fortuna Suites but under new management. The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. So friendly and happy to help you out in any way. They seemed to really love their jobs and it showed. The hotel is on a side street about 2 blocks from downtown La Fortuna so very close to the main retail area and convenient for going out in the evening yet the street the hotel was on was away from the tourist crowds. We felt very comfortable there. The room was beautiful and quite modern feeling. Really nice balcony. Mini fridge, AC in room, internet. Complimentary breakfast was a short walk away at a different facility. This was actually really cool - large open seating area with the restaurant staff also very nice. 4 different breakfast options and you have a great view of some fields and some interesting bird watching while having breakfast. Here is what you need to know - La Fortuna is a busy town and a bit noisy. There is a disco close enough to the hotel that it was bothersome. The hotel staff actually talked with the disco staff about managing their music but with only limited success - disco music, with it's pulsating deep base at 1 in the morning, was frustrating if you were not out dancing. Also, right next door are 3 snippy little dogs who believe they own the neighborhood and when they are out in their yard they go ballistic with barking every time someone walks by or god forbid another dog wanders down the street. Remember the Gary Larson cartoon showing a dog fixing himself double espresso while the sun rises ? These dogs seemed to also have access to espressos because they were constantly agitated. All dogs go to heaven - these three just need to get there sooner. These are all things beyond the control of the hotel staff. If we come back we'd stay with them again. Maybe the dogs next door will have gone to dog heaven by then.…
We were greeted with smiling faces, fresh cold towel with lavender scent and a refreshing drink. Only a couple blocks to the Main Street of the town but off the path enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. Clean, friendly and very helpful. The property is beautiful and quaint and just a very short walk to breakfast that’s is included. Make sure you sit at the bar area facing the trees for some amazing bird watching while you’re eating. Pura Vida
What an amazing surprise! This was our “trip of a lifetime” holiday, so we booked some expensive hotels in Costa Rica and this was meant to be a cheap, one night only stop over. But this has exceeded all the expectations, and here is why: 1. The bed was the MOST comfortable we had on this holiday. 2. The staff ♥️ The lady who did check in delivered 5* plus service. We had everything we needed at our finger tips. They really took care of every detail, including a blackboard where they recommended all the restaurants. 3. Amazing lounge area to watch the volcano. They had games and tones of things to entertain yourselves if you get bored in the evenings 4. Location couldn’t be better! You are a stop through away from anything you need… 5. The value for money is remarkable. We stayed in 7 different hotels on our 14 days holidays and this was the TOP value one! Now, if you want to come for a getaway holiday to Costa Rica, probably won’t be somewhere you want to spend allll your time, but if you’re in La Fortuna for a few days and looking for a comfortable but budget stay, this won’t disappoint!! Go ahead and book. The only regret I have is that we didn’t buy the toy they arranged for kids for Christmas charity. They had an area where you could allocate money for toys for kids who needed a present, but I’m such a bad human I totally forgot 🙈 Thanks again guys, we really enjoyed it…
This was our first stop in Costa Rica and we had such a great stay. The staff were so friendly & helpful. We had a room with a view of the volcano, which was a real treat. The location of the hotel is an easy stroll into town and quiet at night. The hotel helped us sort tickets to the waterfall too, which was super helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in La Fortuna - you won’t regret it!
La Fortuna Suites is in a perfect setting away from the noise of downtown but easy walking a couple blocks to shops, restaurants, bars and the downtown park. The arrival drinks and cold cloths were very much appreciated as we were checking in. The information given upon checkin for tours and bookings on the spot made life really easy for us weary travellers. The view upstairs in the common area is beautiful and would have been incredible if the clouds weren’t hanging over the volcano. The breakfast is just up the street and excellent with 3 choices daily and included fresh fruit and juice to start. I recommend sitting at the higher chairs at the bar area to watch the all birds while you eat breakfast. We booked just the standard room, it looked newly renovated, was very nice and clean and comfortable but quite small. We are travelling for several months so our luggage took up a lot of space. Free coffee in the room, safes and mini fridge. The hospitality was amazing. Will definitely return some day but would splurge and book a room with a view to the volcano. The view…
La Fortuna Suites is centrally located in the town. Short walk to many restaurants, marts and shopping. The town park was always active in the evening and a lot of fun to watch. The town park was amazing. We did have slow internet service so we used our laptop for news and show instead of using the TV. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. It good AC, refrigerator, and decent storage. Breakfast was served in another restaurant and was good AND there were many exotic birds close by including toucans and parrots. Finally due to clouds, we only saw glimpses of Mount Arenal however, if it were clear, it would be a excellent view. It is close.
Initially booked based on a recommendation from a friend and the location. Ended up being a great stay - easily walkable to all of the downtown restaurants/bars, the park. Breakfast included at an adjacent hotel. Noylin was a fantastic concierge and helped us decide on and book all our activities/dinner reservations for us. She also gave great insight on how to maximize our experience as we were in town for a limited amount of time. Highly recommend!
My husband and I traveled to Costa Rica in August 2022. We booked the Wellness Pack at La Fortuna Suites so there was less planning on our end. This was definitely the right choice! From the moment we arrive in La Fortuna, the staff here were fabulous. They provided us a local welcome drink and some good food recommendations. The package included a great hike on the 1968 trail, a day pass to the Paradise hot springs, and a day pass to the La Fortuna Waterfall. We called to schedule these based on our travel days/times, and they were extremely helpful with guiding us on day vs. night, how much time to allow, how to get there, etc. These activities were a perfect sampling of all that this part of the world has to offer. If you are headed to La Fortuna, do not hesitate to book this package. I would do it again in a heartbeat! If you do book this, make sure you book the Costa Rica Cooking and do it the same day as the waterfall.…
