Stayed 4 days / 3 nights. Unable to check in until 3:20pm as ‘staff were busy’. Checked in - no toilet roll - had to ask for it. Pool empty no water. Told we could use pool at a different hostel along with welcome drink voucher. Tried to use voucher following day, unable to use it until after 2 pm. Offered volcano tour by staff for $60, found it for $50 elsewhere. No WiFi on day 3 or the day we checked out and when it did work it was bad signal from our room. Shower ran cold after 2/3 mins. No electricity on day 3 either. Room tiny, struggled to walk round the side of the bed! No atmosphere at all, would not stay again.

This hostel was recommended to us by fellow travelers and though we'd already made lodging plans at an AirB&B, we made use of their tour planner. They had very affordable rates for the all day Arenal volcano tour. The hostel itself had a terrific atmosphere with a small swim-up bar and pool with hammocks strung in the common areas.

My friend and i went to la fortuna planning to stay for a day and a half with no plans. The night we got there we started walking around. And met Danny. He pretty much help us plan our trip and stay at their hostel for 3 days. All the staff was friendly and the service was great. Christin, Patricia, Julian , and Magdalen was very helpful. They told us where to go for good local foods. And also what locals do during the day and night that is fun! I would totally come back and stay here.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a group of 9. The accomidation was standard and did the job but the service and attitude from staff was not good. It appeared as if all staff had started on the same day. The deposit process on keys and towels was a disaster and their laundry service that we were told would take 4 hours took 16 hours.

I stayed at this hostel for three nights in June 2019 and i would definitely return! They have plenty of communal space where i was able to meet many other travelers. They had a cold and hot pool. The hot pool was connected to the bar where you could order drinks. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen area was quite clean. I came to La Fortuna with no plan and one of the workers at the hostel, Danny, really helped me plan activities and tours that worked best for my schedule and budget. He showed me around the hostel and answered all the questions i had during the trip. He even gave me a tip to a local swimming hole to cool off from the heat! If you go definitely ask for him!

Very well organised hostel - the staff at reception could not have been more helpful when it came to arranging tours. The room was a nice size although limited with towels. There were plenty of places to sit & relax within the hostel. Only slight annoyance was the WiFi was non-existent in our room & limited elsewhere in the hostel which made planning activities a bit more difficult.

There are 2 Hostels, that belong together, this and the Resort and you can use their facilities. The Hostel is quiet, the room very small without plugs to charge your phones etc except in the bathroom. It's very clean and staff is extremely friendly, talkativ and helpful (they safed me 25$ on a tour...) I would love to come back!

In town but slightly away from the main hustle. This hostel is the quiet cousin compared to the other one in town owned by the same company. No frills but clean and quiet. Very friendly staff who helped us book tours and transfers.

This hostel has a lot of character, and is centrally located, convenient for tours and nightlife. Hammocks, small bar, kitchens and plunge pools (one under construction) make it an attractive place to stay. Michelle, and her front desk staff, were helpful and keen to ensure that you made the most of your stay. The hit and miss WiFi and construction noise let it down, but only slightly. This is a good choice to stay if you’re in La Fortuna and on a budget.

Wow what an amazing hostel! When we arrived check in was extremely easy and funny. The room was great for a hostel, I booked a basic double room and it was very clean as well as a private bathroom and AC. The complex was fantastic, with beautiful art around every corner as well as several hanging hammock spots to relax after a long day. There are three pools, two that people can use and one under construction. Definitely a hostel to check out.
