A wonderful hotel set on an excellent property. Amenities include a thermal pool area, a jacuzzi pool area and a standard swimming pool area; I call them areas because they are not just a stand alone pool but each consists of several connecting smaller pools. There is a swim up bar in the jacuzzi area (which we felt strange). Access to La Fortuna is by taxi (approx US$12.00 one way).
Beautiful hotel with ample amenities and friendly staff. The breakfast options were wide and the rooms were private with a patio. Location worked well and we had an excellent stay. Would highly recommend.
This was a wonderful experience for us. The thermal spring on the property was amazing, the restaurant was excellent, the room was great and all the staff were very accommodating! Would love to go back!
Great location outside the city in the middle of the forest. Very good arrangement of the buildings in the compound, easy to get to the restaurant and to the pools from every building. Very friendly staff doing everything to feel OK. At the restaurant they even took an order that was not listed on the menu The way they keep the site secured it is a plus. Some detail work on the rooms will be welcome. I like the idea of placing the icemaker away from the buildings but easily accessible. The price of the beer at the restaurant it is ridiculous.
Amazing hotel resort. Beautiful hot springs, amazing clean rooms. The grounds are spectacular. We found this little gem during Covid and this is our second time back. The food at the restaurant is better than most places we tried in LA Fortuna and that says a lot because you cannot find in any restaurants in LA Fortuna with less than a 4 star rating!!!. Great pool, great service and the front desk staff will go out of your way to help you! 5+++
Hotel was great! A little out dated but we were very comfortable. The staff was so pleasant and the food was amazing. The hotel grounds were well kept, with tons of beautiful birds, trees, flowers etc. You also have a view of the volcano. 10 min from town and close to many excursions. I would definitely stay there again!
Stayed for about five days in January 2023. It’s a beautiful property and an excellent place for birdwatching especially during breakfast right around the dining area. Attentive and helpful staff, very reasonable prices for meals. There are multiple thermal pools around the property. It’s easy to spend a few days here just hanging around and relaxing.
Very nice hotel. Private room with their own private hot spring. Confortable rooms, very clean. There is a restaurant on site with excelent food. Various regular pools and Hot Springs. You can pick tours from the hotel Also the Observatory Lodge is close to it. Where you can enjoy the Arenal Volcano very close.
We spent four days at the Volcano Lodge and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The food at the restaurant was surprisingly good. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a five year old with us and he loved the playground and all of the wildlife we saw around the property. Great place to stay!
We stayed in a Junior Suite for 4 nights and loved it--it was worth the upgrade. We used the private soak several times aside from the public baths, and the room was spacious and well-appointed. The grounds were beautiful--there are lots of birds that hang around including Great Currasows and Crested Guans. Breakfast buffet is excellent and includes omelets to order if you want it, and cereals, baked items, etc. I mostly stuck with the "typico" Costa Rican options because they were good! Special shoutouts to Rosmer at the poolside bar for his warmth and great drinks, and to Steven who makes a dessert flambé at the restaurant that should not be missed!
