This hotel is a mixed bag. I really want to give it a better score, so maybe a 3.5. Room (126), and likely the surrounding rooms, need an update. The room was musty and the ac struggled to work. You could hear the kids upstairs running around and the cars right outside of the room- the room sits on a street. This room had a cheap hotel feel. The room was clean and the bed was pretty good. Room is an awesome location. Close to everything. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service is horrible. In the restaurant, Had to wait almost 40 mins for someone to come up to me to ask for my drink order. Had to ask someone at the bar. Spa is pretty. Got an 80 mins massage. The grounds and hot springs are great. Just loved walking around the grounds. Not much to do other then sit in the pools. Nothing extra for the kids to do.

Great hotel with spacious rooms. Great view of the volcano. The resort is quite big so there is a not of walking. The thermal pools were very enjoyable. The breakfast had great options and was well organized. However, I found some of the staff the front office rushed, unfriendly and appeared very stressed out.

Stayed for three nights. Great food, awesome spa, beautiful room. Loved it. Fantastic gardens with lots of wildlife and friendly staff. We had a room 700m away from the main complex which was quiet but also easily accessible with the on-demand and quick service shuttle bus.

We stayed for 2 nights in newer part of the resort. Our room was huge and we loved that the room had 2 queen beds and 2 beds stowed under the top beds...so our family of 4 had one bed each. The resort is huge and we had one of the best views of the Arenal mountain from the top of the resort. Breakfast was good. Me and my daughter had massages and they were awesome as they keep the doors open to the outdoors. Hot springs are luke warm. We did have a good evening there, enjoying pineapple pina colada and food. For hot springs, I'd recommend Relax Thermalitas which is very close by. All the staff are friendly except for the front office ones.

We had a lovely few nights here to start our travels. We arrived late, but were driven to our room which was very big! We had an amazing view and it’s a very peaceful and quiet spot. The selection of pools was great and we spent most of ours in the naturally heated one. Breakfast was really good quality and we enjoyed sitting at the bar in the evenings. Be prepared for a walk! We tried it once from our room and didn’t again, so relied on the bus service - which was incredible. Ring reception and it’ll come get you.

We had a great time here. My boyfriend and I spent 4 nights here and loved it. The room itself is fine but the grounds and pools were lovely. We spent a lot of time lounging in the hot springs and dined at both the restaurant and the Lemnos wet bar. We loved the wet bar! The staff were friendly, drinks were good and food was delicious. Even when it was busy the staff were very attentive. The bartender Gustavo did a great job taking care of us and makes great drinks!

Everything here is beautiful! The rooms are pretty big and they all have patios. There are many pools around the resort with different temperatures. The terra bar has a swim up bar and the service is amazing along with their food. The restaurant serves a breakfast buffet every morning with a variety of local and american options with fresh coffee and juice. The dinner options are delicious and memorable. Even romantic if that's what you're going for. There is a bar in the front of this restaurant but we weren't very happy with the service or drinks there so we spent most of our time at the terra bar instead. They also have a shuttle service to make getting around easy everywhere you go. This resort is really big and the paths are pretty steep and sloped so walking can be a lot coming from your room. The views are breathtaking throughout this resort. From our room we had a direct view of the Arenal volcano. Over all we LOVED this resort! Next time we're in the area this definitely be our go-to.

Our second hotel stay was at Los Lagos so we could be in La Fortuna for a few days and enjoy the volcano. This was a great place that was enjoyed by the whole family. The younger ones enjoyed the pool bar and the pool slides. We did this for our two nights there and enjoyed their restaurant "Las Palmas" for a dinner one night as well. We stayed at the big family suite at the end of the resort, but you can drive down to the pools/restaurant or they have a shuttle. The dinner is a buffer or you can order off the menu. The buffet is pretty well stocked and was enjoyed by half of us. The rest did the menu options.

Stayed Room 152 for 8 nights for two adults and two kids. First, the room. The room had to two double beds which were relatively comfortable. The room was clean although the shower drain did not drain very good so you would have to stop the water to avoid flooding the bathroom. The location of the room was at the top of a steep hill off a road that was not just for the hotel. (Shuttles are available to take you to your room) In fact the hotel’s drivers and other tourist services would drive up the hill at fast speeds no matter what time of day or night. Further the road is used as a horse trail so we would often open the door from our room and the first thing we would smell was horse poop. The room location allowed for a good view of the volcano which was nice. The grounds, pools and hot springs were beautiful and well landscaped. The swim up bar staff were attentive and the prices there were much more reasonable than places like Tabacon. Warning on one of slides. The catch pool is pretty shallow for the time of slide it is. Dangerous for bigger kids so I would limit slide use to the one that feeds into the big pool which was great. The restaurant was a mixed bag. We ate there for one dinner the night we checked in and it was not a good experience. It took forever for the waiter to come to our table, take our order, bring drinks and eventually food. The food was fine but given how slow it was we didn’t bother trying it again except for the breakfast. The breakfast was above average but it was annoying that they wouldn't always have vegetarian scrambled eggs as they would rotate ones with ham in it with the only non meat egg option being a fried egg.otherwise breakfasts were good. Overall, I think this hotel has pretty good value and just needs some minor tweaks to be a solid hotel. I would return to this hotel again.

Tucked away amongst several options, this space is in a jungly setting. The pools are not too hot to stay a while. There are a lot of temperature options. This place was not near as crowded as some of the springs resorts around. Breakfast included was a nice touch. Food is good and staff super friendly. We spent three nights and wish we had more. There were quite a few families but nothing got loud until the teenage Christian group came in on Saturday. They were loud and obnoxious which broke the vibe.
