The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Plenty of beautiful green areas, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in the Arenal volcano view. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine, they all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.
We visited Costa Rica in this December and we loved our stay in this hotel. Owners are husband and wife and they are the most wonderful people you will ever meet. By mistake instead of my December dates I ended up doing the booking in January. I arrived at this hotel in rainy night and even though I did not have the booking the wonderful owner Mrs. Francis helped me out and let me stay. They also honored my January rate and let me stay exactly at the same room with same view. This hotel itself is a tourist attraction as it will take you 3 mile on exotic dirt road to reach you room and you are living in a rain-forest. Hotel amenity includes daily breakfast, pools and also horse riding (just for 30$). Hotel also has a wonderful restaurant and hotel is right next to hanging bridge and very close to Arenal Volcano. I stayed at 3 different hotels throughout my trip but this hotel was the best. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!…
This place is magic! The views are stunning. We stayed a weekend at this lodge during corona times and we were the only guests! The room we occupied was gorgeous; all wood interior, great bed and super clean! We had a balcony (terras) eith view on the vulcano! Their garden is very well maintained and exotic. The staff is extremely friendly! We also met the owners who are very welcoming and accommodating! They have a beautiful pool with view on vulcano and 2 hottub. There are 2 trails you can walk, a viewpoint one and a jungle one. The food in the restaurant is very good. And if you are lucky you can see small colorful frogs! Very recommended!!!
First off do not use Waze when trying to get to this hotel it will bring you in via a back road which will not work. Second this is a great property, clean, nice, good staff and you feel like your on top of the mountain. Stayed here for 4 nights in the top Chalet and I highly recommend it. Your about 20 minutes out of town and there isn't anything else but the hotel as your on top of the mountain. Best views around of the Volcano, highly recommend staying here as a couple or with friends not as a single traveler unless you want to be left alone. Breakfast buffet was included every day. The road up to the hotel is narrow and steep but totally worth it. Do the hike down to the plantation from the hotel and read about all the movies that were shot in the area and the actors stayed at this hotel back in the day. If in Costa Rica and the volcano is on your list definitely consider this hotel…
When we arrived at the security gate we were told the driveway was over 2 kms. The hotel stands in 2,000 acres so there were plenty of very enjoyable walks. We had booked a standard room originally but asked for a junior suite on arrival which they were able to accommodate at a small charge. We were pleased that we did as it had a perfect view of the volcano and a good balcony. Saw many beautiful birds. The staff put out fruit for the birds on two bird tables and a Tolomuco came up to feed one morning. An excellent experience. Hotel is close to all sights we wanted to visit. The room was all dark wood which made it quite dull in the evening. They could do with some improved lighting. Only a minor problem but better lighting would greatly improve the accommodation.
