Even after making a very last minute booking, Errol (the head of the property) did everything he could to make sure I felt completely taken care of. Not only is he super friendly and absolutely focused on making sure every part of your stay is exactly what you need, he is also incredibly responsive to questions on WhatsApp whenever you might have them. The rooms are very simple (a couple of beds, some storage, a fridge, etc.), but they're all very well taken care of, and very "Fortuna". This is not "just another hotel" with the same furnishings and soulless decorations, this is the quintessential space to relax and feel like you're *IN* Costa Rica. And being less than a 10 minute walk from downtown Fortuna is even better.

The room and bathroom were fairly basic but were clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a patio area just outside and good to be able to park hire car easily. The best bit of this hotel was the pool, which our son loved. There was also a kitchen you could use but we didn't, there was a fridge in the room which was helpful. The location is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of La Fortuna which was fine for us.

It is a normal hotel with comfortable rooms, the pool is very good and the customer service is great. A good location very close to the center of La Fortuna and the prices go according to the offered.

It is very simple, the customer service is quite good and the pool fantastic. The rooms were very well equipped and I sincerely am very grateful for the good service but the rest was not very pleasant since the noise was quite.

I am so glad we chose to stay at Hotel Villa Fortuna. The owner/operator was extremely friendly and helped us with recommendations on delicious food and appropriate tours for us in La Fortuna and at the Arenal volcano. We loved having a kitchen area to use and an inexpensive supermarket within easy walking distance. We bought some tortillas, eggs, and sausage and made breakfast for 8 for about $10. The property was easy to find and we had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

Positive - very helpful lady in reception. Nice pool (sunbeds looked very tired, but swimming was enjoyable). Functional breakfest - fruits, coffe, - no juice??!! Simply equiped rooms, very noisy AC, big noise from the road. Internet was very slow, falling very often

The place was clean but pillow cases and sheets smelled a little strange. No shampoo or soaps except a dispenser in the shower with liquid. Three rooms was really a room with three beds. Breakfast was expensive!!! $7.00 USD for two fried eggs and coffee. That was all I wanted and that was the charge. The woman in the kitchen was very nice and she was friendly. I would look for another place if I had to go back. I was traveling with my adult son.

Would go there again. +Near the center +Friendly, helpful staff +Quiet despite being close to main road +Very affordable +Lots of parking space -Didn't include breakfast (but there are lots of options around) -My door didn't have lock inside. Latch worked, but deadbolt wouldn't move, only when working it from the outside. Minor issue to some.

Stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's in a good location with good views of the volcano and easy walking distance to the town for dinner. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with a nice little terrace area in front of the rooms to sit of an evening. Great pool and lovely seating area with hammocks by the well equipped kitchen. Perfect place to spend a couple of nights while seeing the sights of the area.

You definitely get what you pay for at the hotel. It is a quaint nice hotel away from the busy city but not too far. I bought a breakfast included option and every morning was greeted with a set table outside my room with hot coffee and orange juice. You can choose from an omelet or a standard Costa Rican breakfast of rice and beans. The hotel also has a free kitchen everyone can use and families were cooking their meals there, which is also perfect because there is a supermarket about twenty feet away. A/C works great, I was definitely happy with the price and what I got.
