This is the most beautiful property I have ever visited. Our shower was huge and had a great view of the volcano. Swim up bar with awesome drinks, fantastic hikes on the property and super comfortable bed. So much to do in the area!
This property is a beautiful, peaceful oasis near Arenal. We stayed here for three nights as part of a 10-day trip to Costa Rica and this was our favorite place on the entire trip. Good location, easy access to all of the attractions/hiking trails and there are also a few trails on the property. Make sure to take advantage of the free yoga every morning! The casitas are incredible. Comfortable beds with gorgeous showers and views of the volcano. The private hot tub on the back balcony was amazing! Food was absolutely delicious- make sure to book a night at La jaranita! Incredible value with free breakfast. Drinks at the pool bar were too good :) cannot recommend Amor Arenal enough! Stay here!!!!
beautiful bungalows with stylish furnishings and a fantastic shower room with stunning views of Arenal Volcano when it is visible or the lush rainforest. Each Bungalow has a private terrace with Jacuzzi. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. In summary - simply fantastic!
My husband and I stayed here 4 days and it was so relaxing. It's a really great spot for you to disconnect from your life. You can get totally immersed in the cultural or disconnect entirely and stay at the hotel. I think this is a great spot for those who might not know too much Spanish and just want to experience the rainforest but also a great spot for those who want to practice their Spanish but still get spa level treatment. You can either stay at the hotel and never leave, or go downtown and explore and eat at some local sodas. It's really whatever your heart desires. We did the sensory spa treatment and it was an amazing experience that I'll be recommending to friends and family. The food was delicious and be ready to stuff your face for the complimentary breakfast which is really so much food (or as little food as you want) with fresh fruits and juices, warm oats with milk, and a menu item selection. Not to mention a basket of fresh bread made on site! The cabanas are like staying in a treehouse suspended in the rainforest and if you can be patient the clouds will move and a volcano view will appear! The private jacuzzi really sold this site for us and we rarely went to the cold pools because our casita was just amazing and private and relaxing. We started every morning with a good well rounded breakfast and yoga at 8:15 (meditation on Sunday!) then began our day. We only did one excursion (canyoning and white water rafting and they pick you up at reception) but spent a mix of our time in our private casita and off site sodas for some amazing food. If you get the opportunity to do the jaranita Costa Rican experience (at the hotel bar) they give you a 6 -7 course meal for 75 dollars a person WITH A DRINK PAIRING. They either mentioned this and we weren't listening or didn't mention it but it was a lot of food PLUS drinks for each dish. It was well worth the money and we are very happy we booked the experience. Highly recommend. We did not do the guided hike for the level 5 hike but we did the smaller one and it was really amazing hike through the rainforest. We didn't see any animals though throughout our 4 day stay besides birds, but apparently the sloths do come near the hotel restaurant at times!! Lastly, the staff was absolutely amazing and all knew English and were willing to help you learn Spanish if you desired or spoke to you in English if you didn't. My husband doesn't know any Spanish and I am mildly fluent enough to figure out what I need or want to say. So it was a good start for our trip! (Don't mind the hill it's a great workout if you in casitas 20-30) but if you really can't hike I'd ask if you can be between 1-10 casitas.…
This is a place like I have never experienced before, the staff is so attentive to your every need that they know what you want before you even open your mouth and they already have it ready for you. They are excellent problem solvers at the reception. I had a problem with the tour operator and they did not give up until everything was to my utmost satisfaction. Of particular mention are: Marolin, Jonas, Jose, Berny (superb guide), Leonardo (at the restaurant), Byron (at the reception, fabulous, efficient, patient, dedicated, so is Marolin, also at the reception), Carmen. Beautiful property, truly magical, you are surrounded by beautiful vegetation and quiet nature. The buildings are gorgeous and comfortable, you have your own, private cottage. You truly rest at Amor Arenal
"Con mucho gusto" - this is the attitude of the staff at Amor Arenal. From arrival to departure we experienced what most establishments could only dream of delivering. Raquel, Vinicio, Cindy, Valeria, Will, Bernie, Ronald, Mauricio, Oscar, and so many others were there to assist at every turn in providing a wonderful vacation. They seemed genuinely pleased to help you leave the stressors of life behind. The accommodations were equally amazing. The casitas were designed to be a private paradise. They were meticulously clean and just perfect for being in the rainforest with a view (if it wasn't raining) of the volcano. This was by far one of the best resorts we have ever had the pleasure to visit.
From the moment we arrived we knew that this was going to be a great experience. We arrived well after hours, in a pre-arranged transport from San Jose (recommend you hire a driver) and were greeted by Carlos with a warm welcome. During our stay the staff went out of their way to greet us by name, to attend to my dietary restrictions, and to make us feel welcome. Highlights were our two walking tours on the property with Billy and Bernie. We saw many birds including toucans. And we saw 3 sloths! The Serenity Trail is not for the faint of heart but is an amazing experience for seasoned hikers. A guide is a must. The food was outstanding. The signature cocktails at the pool bar were delicious. Breakfast included fresh baked breads and pastries made on site. Casita 13 has an excellent view of the volcano from your lounge chair and is halfway to everything on the property. Our departure was at 3:45 in the morning. The staff ensured a smooth check out, luggage pickup, coffee and breakfast was ready for us, and the driver was arranged. This resort is close to all activities in the Arenal area with lots to choose from. We would highly recommend this resort as a very special place to relax, unwind, and enjoy.…
This was the best experience at a resort we have ever experienced! Everything was beautiful and the rooms and views were breathtaking. The most amazing part was the staff. BEST STAFF EVER!!!!!! We cannot say enough! Venecio, Mauricio, Valeria, Cindy, Will, Raquel, Berny……to name just a few of the staff who made our stay unforgettable. We have never seen a staff work so hard with so much joy. While I cannot remember every name, there wasn’t one member of the staff who wasn’t courteous and attentive. We will definitely be back!
We stayed at Amor Arenal for the first 5 nights of our 5 nights of our 8 night honeymoon and we never wanted to leave. Every detail was perfect. We loved having our own private hot tub with an incredible view of the rainforest (we even saw the top of the Arenal volcano for a brief moment when the clouds cleared!). The property is meticulously kept, everything was clean and accessible. We were nervous about bugs in our room being so intertwined in the rainforest but magically they are kept out somehow and our room was spotless and comfortable. We hiked both of the trails on the property and felt so in touch with nature during our time there. We saw sloths, toucans, lizards, frogs, snakes, and more at Amor Arenal itself, and tons more wildlife in the surrounding areas. Breakfast each morning was our favorite experience, each day trying to guess what the delicious daily juice would be. I have celiac and must eat gluten free, and the restaurant staff were incredible at accommodating this. What was the most special to us was the staff. Everyone treated us as if we were family and made our stay seamless. The reception staff (shout out Laura!) greeted us warmly after a long travel day and helped us settle into our casita. Throughout our stay they helped us schedule tours and transportation to help us expand our incredible experience. Oscar at the pool bar made stellar drinks. Hilda and Rebecca at the spa gave us an unforgettable massage experience. Will always remembered our names and came close to convincing us to extend our stay (if only we had more time in the country!). Raquel was a light every morning at breakfast. I wish I could remember everyone's name because each and every person we met was kind, professional and welcoming. We truly hope to be back someday and would recommend Hotel Amor Arenal to anyone visiting Costa Rica. …
This hotel is absolutely stunning! The property is amazing and the rooms are gorgeous! I loved the decor and especially the private deck with hot tub and Adirondack chairs that look at the jungle. The shower is huge and all glass so you feel like you are taking a shower outside. The pools, yoga and meditation areas are so serene. The staff is so friendly and helped us book tours. I highly recommend this gorgeous spot.
